We build Rampy.money, so read this with that in mind. Originally published on our blog.

Clients do not have to hold crypto for you to be paid in USDC. Give them bank details that convert on arrival, or an invoice they can pay by transfer.

Plenty of freelancers would rather hold dollars on-chain than in a local bank, or simply want to be paid faster and more cheaply across borders. The obstacle is usually the client: most businesses pay by bank transfer and are not going to buy crypto to pay an invoice. You do not need them to.

Option 1: give them a wallet address

If the client already holds stablecoins, this is the cheapest route: they send USDC to your wallet and nothing is converted. Give them the address and the network together, in writing, and ask for a small test payment the first time.

Option 2: bank details that convert to USDC

A deposit account is a set of bank details of your own (in your name for USD and EUR). The client pays it by ordinary bank transfer, as they would anyone else, and the money is converted to USDC and sent to your wallet on its own. It costs 1.99% of each payment with no flat fee, and we ask you to keep payments at 100 or above. Get paid lists the currencies open to you.

Nothing to place and nothing to cancel: whatever arrives is converted, including a payment made twice.

You choose the coin, the network and the wallet when you open it, and can change the wallet later.

Payments from a business in its own name are accepted; some rails limit or refuse payments from third parties.

Option 3: send an invoice with a pay link

From Get paid you can create an invoice with an amount and a due date, and send the client its link: a page with your bank details and the invoice number to quote as the reference. When the payment arrives into your deposit account it converts as usual, and the invoice is marked paid on its own — you are emailed when it is.

 Which to use

Wallet address

Deposit account

Invoice and pay link

Client pays with

Stablecoins

Bank transfer

Bank transfer

Cost to you

Nothing from us

1.99% of each payment

1.99% of each payment

Tracks what is owed

No

No

Yes, marked paid on arrival

 Turning it back into money

When you need local currency, sell from your wallet to your bank account for 1.99% + 1.99 below 500, then 0.99% + 1.99 from 500 per order, or set up an auto-convert address that pays your bank whatever arrives on it.
Being paid in a stablecoin is still income, and converting it later can be a taxable disposal as well. Keep the invoice, the payment and the conversion together.

Open bank details that convert payments into USDC.
Get paid in stablecoins

 Frequently asked

Does my client need crypto to pay me in USDC?

No. With a deposit account they pay ordinary bank details by transfer, and the money reaches you as USDC.

 What does it cost?

A deposit account is 1.99% of each payment with no flat fee. A client paying you USDC directly costs you nothing from us.

 Can I send an invoice?

Yes. From Get paid, create an invoice with an amount and due date and send the client its link. It is marked paid on its own when the payment arrives.

Get Paid by US Clients in USD, Into Bank Details in Your Own Name

We build [Rampy.money]

A US client pays a routing number and an account number, the way they pay anyone. Behind those details, what arrives converts to USDC and lands in your wallet.

Most US companies pay their suppliers by ACH or by wire. Ask one to pay a foreign bank and the request goes to someone in finance who has to set up an international wire, find a SWIFT code, and accept that intermediary banks may take a cut on the way. Ask them to pay a US routing number and an account number and it is the payment they make every day.

A USD deposit account gives you exactly that: US bank details issued in your name. Your client pays them like any American supplier. Whatever arrives is converted to USDC and sent to your wallet, with no order to place.

 How it works

Verify your identity once, then open USD bank details on Get paid.

On Get paid, open USD bank details. Choose the stablecoin and the network you want, for example USDC on Base or Solana, and which of your wallets it goes to.

Send your client the details: account holder name, routing number and account number. They are permanent, so they can go on every invoice.

Your client pays by ACH, usually one to three business days, or by wire, usually the same day.

When the money lands it converts at 1.99% and arrives in your wallet. You get an email each time.

 What it costs

USD deposit account

Rampy's fee

1.99% of each deposit, no fixed fee

On a $2,000 invoice

$39.80

On a $500 invoice

$9.95

Suggested minimum per payment

100 USD

Monthly charge for the account

None

The receipt for each deposit shows what arrived and what it converted to. Smaller payments still convert below 100 USD, but cost proportionally more, because delivering the stablecoin has a cost that does not shrink with the amount. Under 2 USD nothing converts at all: our partner holds a payment that nets below its 1 USD minimum until later payments take the total over it.

 Who can pay into it

This is the part to read before you send the details to anyone. The rules come from our banking partner and depend on who is paying:

Paying from

Accepted?

A registered business, including payroll

Yes. Larger payments can be held for review and returned if they cannot be verified

Your own bank, fintech app or brokerage account

Yes, unlimited

Another person's personal account

Under $4,000 per payment. A family member who shares your surname may send any amount. Not accepted from New York or Texas.

A payment that breaks these rules is not refused when it is sent. It arrives, goes to review, and is returned days later. Tell clients which kind of account to pay from before they pay, not after.

One more limit applies to US residents: without a photo ID on file, you can receive up to $100,000 in any 30 days, and $10,000 in one payment, before our partner asks for one.

 ACH or wire?

ACH

Wire

Usually arrives

1–3 business days

Same day

Cost to your client

Usually free

Their bank may charge

Good for

Regular invoices

Larger or urgent payments

 Before you rely on it

There is no order to cancel. Whatever arrives converts. If a client pays an invoice twice, it converts twice.

The details are permanent. Turn them off on the Bank accounts page if you stop needing them, and back on whenever you like.

Most new accounts get their bank details straight away; some are looked at by a person first, usually within one business day. For the first 7 days, a new account can bring in up to $2,000 in total.

Everything you are paid, and every conversion, is on your statement in the app.

USD bank details in your name. US clients pay by ACH or wire; you receive USDC at 1.99%, with no fixed fee. Open USD bank details

 Frequently asked

Do I need a US company or a US bank account?

No. You verify with Rampy, then open USD bank details on Get paid, and they are issued to you. You do not open a US bank account yourself.

Can my client pay by card?

No. These are bank details, so payment is by ACH or wire.

 What do I receive?

The stablecoin and network you chose when you opened the details, for example USDC on Base, sent to your Rampy wallet or a wallet app you have linked.

Can a private individual pay me?

Yes, under $4,000 per payment, or any amount from a family member who shares your surname. Payments from New York or Texas residents' personal accounts are not accepted.
