This is a submission for the DEV April Fools Challenge

 What I Built

I built Confused Café — a deliberately useless and chaotic web app where users can experience the worst possible user interface.

It’s a fake café where you can “order” cursed drinks like coffee with salt or milk with cola, but the real experience is the chaos around it.

The site intentionally breaks normal UX rules:

Buttons don’t behave properly

Inputs sabotage the user

Random alerts and fake system messages appear

The entire page feels unstable and unpredictable

The goal was to create something that is technically functional, but completely unusable in the most entertaining way possible.

 Demo

Live Site:
https://gilded-kleicha-6715f3.netlify.app/

Video Demo (Google Drive):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1x9fCgZ5l2ALUiaauDDKS7BgBqozRejja/view?usp=drive_link

(Warning: This experience is intentionally chaotic and unpredictable)

 Code

GitHub Repository:
https://github.com/KamnaJ5/confused-cafe-chaos

Includes all source code, assets, and chaotic logic behind Confused Cafe.
This project is built using:

HTML

CSS

JavaScript

No frameworks were used — everything is built from scratch with pure frontend code focused on interaction and chaos.

 How I Built It

I designed the project by intentionally making the user experience worse at every step.

Some key implementations:

JavaScript event manipulation to delay or ignore clicks

Randomized behaviors for unpredictability

Fake systems like loading screens and virus popups

Audio effects and UI animations to increase chaos

DOM manipulation for dynamic and disruptive interactions

The challenge was not making a clean UI, but engineering a controlled bad experience that still works.

 Prize Category

Best Google AI Usage

I used AI tools (Anti-Gravity) to:

generate chaotic feature ideas

explore unconventional UI patterns

push the project toward a more absurd and experimental direction

The final result reflects a blend of human creativity and AI-driven chaos.

This is a solo project — all chaos was created and managed by me alone.
