How to Ask ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini the Same Question at Once (and Compare the Answers)

Before a decision that matters — or whenever an AI sounds a little too sure of itself — it pays to ask more than one model. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini have different strengths and different blind spots, and putting their answers side by side is the fastest way to catch what one of them missed.

Here are three ways to do it, and when each one makes sense.

Questions worth asking more than one AI

You don't need to compare everything. It's worth it when there's no single right answer and coverage matters:

Reviewing a contract, a proposal or a plan for gaps.

Technical design choices and their trade-offs.

Wording options for an important email, pitch or headline.

Fact checks — when one AI states something confidently, see whether the others agree.

 1. The manual way

Copy your question, open each AI in its own tab, paste, send. For two assistants that's fine.

For three or four it gets tedious, and the answers end up scattered across tabs, so reading them against each other takes effort too.

One rule that matters: keep the question word-for-word identical. If the wording changes, you can't tell whether a difference comes from the model or from how you asked.

 2. A side-by-side model playground

Sites like LMArena have a side-by-side mode that sends one prompt to two models and shows both replies. It's a good way to get a feel for how models differ.

The trade-off: it's a separate place from your own ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini accounts, so those conversations don't land in your usual history, and you're not using the same settings and context you normally work with.

 3. Send once to your own AIs, then read the answers side by side

Qarta, a Chrome extension I build (full disclosure), can send one prompt to several AIs at once: pick the sites, send, and each one opens in its own tab with exactly the same text. Because it uses your normal accounts, every conversation also stays in that AI's own history.

When the answers are in, Qarta's chat library lines them up on one screen, so you can see at a glance which reply is strongest. It works across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot (personal), Perplexity and Grok.

Sending to several AIs at once and the side-by-side view are part of Pro ($10/month). On the free plan, every chat on all six AIs is still saved automatically, and the last 30 days are searchable in one place.

 Summary

Two AIs, once in a while → do it by hand, with an identical question.

Exploring how models differ → a side-by-side playground.

Comparing your own AIs regularly → send once and read side by side with a tool like Qarta.

Feedback welcome — I read every message: repech.com/qarta.

Build Your Own AI Prompt Library: Save and Reuse Prompts Across ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini

You've probably written the same instruction to an AI dozens of times. "Summarize this as five bullet points." "Rewrite this so it's polite enough for a client." "Turn this into a table with these columns." And the best version of each — the wording that finally gave you exactly what you wanted — is lost somewhere in your chat history.

A personal prompt library fixes that. Here's how to build one, from the zero-tool approach to one that works inside every AI you use.

What belongs in a prompt library

Not every prompt is worth saving. The ones that pay off are the ones you repeat:

Formatting instructions — "answer in a table", "five bullet points, no intro".

Tone and audience — "rewrite for a non-technical manager", "polite but firm".

Recurring tasks — meeting notes, weekly reports, code review checklists, email replies.

Prompts with blanks — the same request with a different client, project or deadline each time.

A good rule: if you've typed it three times, save it.

 Option 1: A notes document

The simplest library is a document with a title for each prompt. It costs nothing and works with any AI.

The friction is in using it: open the doc, find the prompt, copy, switch back to the AI tab, paste, edit the parts that change. With more than a handful of prompts, most people stop bothering and retype from memory.

 Option 2: Built-in AI settings

ChatGPT's custom instructions, ChatGPT and Claude projects, and Gemini's Gems let you store instructions inside one AI. They're great for things that should apply every time — your language, your role, the tone you like.

They're less useful for task-specific prompts you want to pull in only sometimes, and each one lives in a single AI. If you use ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, you end up maintaining three copies.

Option 3: A prompt manager that works in every AI

The most convenient library is one you can reach from the chat box you're already typing in. That's what I built Qarta for — a Chrome extension (full disclosure: I'm the developer).

Type "/" and a keyword in the chat box of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot (personal), Perplexity or Grok, and your saved prompt drops in. Titles and prompt text are both searched.

One library, six AIs. Edit a prompt once and it's updated everywhere.

Blanks you fill at send time. Write
{{client}}
or
{{deadline}}
in a prompt, and Qarta asks for just those values before sending (Pro).

Job templates to start from — sales, marketing, planning, admin, engineering and freelance.

Send one prompt to several AIs at once and compare the answers side by side (Pro).

The free plan holds 10 prompts and every template; Pro ($10/month or $96/year) removes the limit. Your prompts sync through your Chrome profile — they never go to my servers.

 Tips for prompts worth reusing

Name prompts by the job, not the wording. "Weekly report" is easier to find with "/week" than "Summarize the following updates…".

Put the variable parts in blanks.
{{client}}
,
{{tone}}
,
{{length}}
turn one prompt into dozens.

Keep the output format in the prompt. "Answer as a table with columns X, Y, Z" makes results consistent across AIs.

Prune monthly. Delete prompts you haven't used; your library stays fast to search.

 Summary

A notes doc is a fine start if you have a few prompts and use one AI.

Custom instructions, projects and Gems are best for always-on preferences.

If you reuse task prompts across several AIs, a prompt manager in the chat box — like Qarta — saves the most time.

There's also a free library of 72 work prompts you can copy, no install needed: repech.com/qarta/prompts/en.

How to Export ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini Chats to PDF, Word, Markdown or Excel (Without Breaking Tables)

An AI draft of a report, a comparison table or a long technical explanation is often worth keeping — or handing to a colleague. But copy the answer into a document and the table falls apart, the code loses its formatting and the math turns into a string of symbols.

Here are the ways to turn an AI conversation into a clean file, from the quickest to the most complete.

 1. Copy and paste

Fine for a short answer. Anything with tables, code or formulas tends to break where you paste it, and keeping a long conversation means scrolling and copying again and again.

 2. Print to PDF from your browser

Your browser's print dialog can save any page as a PDF, with nothing to install. The catch: the site's buttons and sidebars come along, long chats can be cut off, and some AI sites only print the part of the conversation that is currently on screen.

 3. The official data export

ChatGPT and Claude can email you a ZIP of all your conversations from their settings. It's a good backup, but the files are made for machines (JSON and raw HTML), not for handing to someone.

 4. An export extension

Qarta is a Chrome extension I build (full disclosure). It adds a button to the bottom right of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity and Grok that turns the conversation you're looking at into a file.

Formatting survives. Headings, lists, tables, code blocks (with their language) and math come out as they were.

Long chats come out whole. Where a site only shows part of a long conversation, Qarta reads back to the very first message.

Pick a format. Markdown, plain text, PDF, Word or HTML. PDF is made from a clean print page that Qarta prepares — choose "Save as PDF" there.

Tables straight to Excel or CSV. Each table gets its own sheet, and numbers stay numbers.

Choose what goes in. Keep only the AI's answers, or tick just the messages you need.

A whole chat as Markdown, text or a copy is free. PDF, Word, HTML, Excel/CSV and picking messages are part of Pro ($10/month).

 Which format should you pick?

Sending it to someone: PDF.

Editing it first: Word.

Working with the numbers: Excel or CSV.

Notes apps, docs-as-code, or feeding it to another AI: Markdown. It keeps headings and tables intact and pastes cleanly almost anywhere.

 Summary

Short answer → copy and paste.

Full backup of everything → the official data export.

A clean document from a long chat, with tables and math intact, on any of the six big AI sites → an export extension like Qarta.

Questions or a format you're missing? I read every message: repech.com/qarta.

AIPRM, Superpower ChatGPT or ChatGPT Exporter? Alternatives for People Who Use More Than One AI

Most popular ChatGPT extensions were built when "AI" meant one website. Today a lot of us switch between ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini several times a day — and that is exactly where single-site extensions start to feel narrow.

Below is an honest look at the best-known extensions, what each one is genuinely good at, and what to use if your work is spread across more than one AI. User counts and ratings are from each extension's Chrome Web Store page as of October 2026.

 The quick comparison

Extension

Best at

Works on

Users

Rating

AIPRM for ChatGPT

4,500+ ready-made prompt templates (marketing, SEO, sales)

ChatGPT (separate extension for Claude)

1,000,000

AI Prompt Genius

Free, open-source prompt library with variables

Several AI sites

100,000

2.8

Qarta

Prompts with "/", plus an automatic, searchable library of every chat, with export

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Grok

New

No ratings yet

When each one is the right choice

Pick AIPRM if you want someone else's prompts. Its strength is a huge catalogue of ready-made templates for marketing, SEO and sales tasks. If you mostly need your own prompts, it's more than you need.

Pick Superpower for ChatGPT if you live in ChatGPT. It adds a deep set of ChatGPT-specific tools — folders, search, galleries, a conversation tree map and more. It is built around ChatGPT, so it isn't designed for your Claude or Gemini chats.

Pick ChatGPT Exporter if the job is "turn this ChatGPT conversation into a nice file". It does that one thing very well, with many formats and PDF settings.

Pick AI Toolbox if you want a ChatGPT power-organizer that also reaches Claude, Gemini and Grok. Its listing says the complete feature set is on ChatGPT, with the other three covered partly.

Pick AI Prompt Genius if free and open source matters most and you only need a prompt list. Its current store rating (2.8) suggests checking recent reviews first.

If you use several AIs: what you actually need

When your work is spread across assistants, two problems show up every day:

You retype the same instructions in each one — "summarize as bullet points", "rewrite politely for a client", "make this a table".

You can't find an old answer, because you don't remember which AI you asked.

That's the gap I built Qarta to fill (full disclosure: I'm its solo developer, and it launched recently, so it has no ratings yet).

One prompt library for six AIs. Save a prompt once, then type
/
and a keyword in the chat box of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot (personal), Perplexity or Grok.

Every chat saved automatically, in your own browser. Conversations you open are kept in a library on your computer (not synced, not uploaded), and titles and messages are searched together across all six AIs.

Export when you need a document. A whole chat as Markdown or text is free; PDF, Word, HTML and tables to Excel/CSV come with Pro.

Send one question to several AIs and read the answers side by side (Pro).

Pricing: free for 10 prompts and the last 30 days of chat history (every chat is still saved). Pro is $10/month or $96/year for unlimited prompts, your whole history, and the document exports.

 Bottom line

One AI and you want the deepest feature set for it → a single-site tool like Superpower for ChatGPT or ChatGPT Exporter.

You want a big catalogue of ready-made prompts → AIPRM.

You use several AIs and want your own prompts and your whole chat history in one place → try Qarta.

Feedback is very welcome — I read every message: repech.com/qarta.

"That answer ChatGPT gave me last week — where did it go?"

If you use AI at work, you have probably lost a good answer this way. Maybe it was in ChatGPT. Maybe it was Claude. Maybe Gemini. You scroll through three sidebars, try a few keywords, and end up asking the question again.

This guide walks through every way to keep your AI conversations and find them later — starting with what ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini already give you for free, and where each one stops.

What the AI apps already do

ChatGPT: sidebar search and data export

ChatGPT lets you search your past chats from the sidebar. For finding something you asked ChatGPT, that is the first place to look.

To keep a copy of everything, go to Settings → Data controls → Export data. ChatGPT emails you a ZIP file with all of your conversations.

 Claude: export from settings

Claude also keeps your chats in its sidebar, and you can request a full export from Settings → Privacy → Export data. Like ChatGPT, it arrives by email as a download.

 Gemini: activity and Google Takeout

Gemini keeps your recent chats in its sidebar, and your history is stored in your Google account activity. A full copy can be downloaded with Google Takeout.

 Where the built-in tools stop

Each app only searches itself. If you use more than one AI, you first have to remember which one you asked.

Exports are data dumps, not documents. The ZIP files are made for machines (JSON and raw HTML). They are a good backup, but you won't read them, search them or paste them into a report.

Search is limited to that account. Switch to another account or another AI and your history is somewhere else again.

One searchable library for all your AI chats

If you use several AI assistants, the missing piece is a single place where every conversation lands automatically and can be searched in one go.

That is what I built Qarta for — a Chrome extension (full disclosure: I'm the developer). It works on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot (personal), Perplexity and Grok.

 How it works

Install Qarta from the Chrome Web Store. It's free and needs no sign-up.

Use your AI tools as usual. Every conversation you open on a supported site is saved automatically. You can turn this off at any time.

Open the chat library and search. Titles and message text are searched together, across all six AIs — so you can find the answer even if you've forgotten where you asked.

A few details that matter:

Your chats stay in your own browser. The library lives in your browser's storage on your own computer. It isn't synced, and it isn't sent to any server — including mine.

Bring your past history in. You can import the official ChatGPT and Claude export files you downloaded above, so older chats become searchable too.

Folders. Group chats by project or client.

Export a chat when you need it. A whole conversation goes out as Markdown or plain text for free. PDF and Word export, with tables, code and math intact, is part of the paid plan.

 Free vs. Pro

The free plan saves every chat and lets you see and search the last 30 days. Pro ($10/month, or $96/year) searches your whole history and adds PDF/Word export. Chats saved on the free plan are kept either way.

Bonus: stop retyping the same prompts

Once your answers are easy to find, the next time sink is the questions. Most of us type the same instructions again and again: "summarize this as bullet points", "rewrite this politely for a client", "turn this into a table".

Qarta also keeps a prompt library. Save the wording that worked once, then type
/
and a keyword in any AI's chat box and it drops right in — on all six sites.

Tips for finding old chats faster

Name the topic in your first message. "Reviewing the Acme services contract — can you…" is far easier to find later than "can you check this?".

Rename important chats. Most AI apps let you rename a conversation; a clear title makes every search better.

Export the ones that matter. A conversation you'll need for a report is safer as a file than as a chat.

 Summary

You want to…

Use

Find something you asked ChatGPT

ChatGPT's sidebar search

Keep a full backup

Each app's data export

Search every AI in one place, automatically

A chat library such as Qarta

If you try Qarta, I'd love to hear what's missing — I'm a solo developer and read every message: repech.com/qarta.
