Evrone is not just a custom software development company, we also stay highly connected with local and international communities. We organize the annual Ruby Russia conference, a huge event featuring expert guests. These community connections give us a competitive edge and provide us with better technical expertise and consulting opportunities.

We have conversations with developers around the world, including the creators of innovative new technologies, and we try to strengthen connections and give back to the community through interviews, conferences, and meetups. We recently conducted an interview with José Valim, the creator of the Elixir programming language, and asked him about his goals for the language and how it came to be.

In 2020, Evrone designer Natasha Yankelevich decided, as an exercise, to create the concept of a personal website for an individual who inspired her - photographer Elizaveta Porodina.

Natasha published the concept on social networks and tagged Elizaveta. She almost immediately received a message from the photographer praising the site concept. Elizaveta wanted us to fully develop the site and turn it into a representation of herself and her style. We reached an agreement on all the documentary details, discussed the nuances of the fashion photography website project, and got down to work.

Learn more about how we created a professional photography portfolio website that showcased Elizaveta’s work and clearly represented her vision and style

Fintech company Revoplus is an installment payment service that customers can use when purchasing goods online. It is being actively developed in Russia under the Mokka brand. Revoplus is already cooperating with large retailers and has received investments from Baring Vostok totaling $25 million.

In 2018, Revoplus management decided to develop and launch the service in Europe as well, starting with Poland. The European market holds more potential for any financial service. Since, in Europe, attitudes towards the credit system are generally softer than in Russia, and payment discipline is more stable.

Learn more about how we helped fintech company to launch a product core for in other countries

Otri is a Russian-British comprehensive health app project, initiated by British company Biolink.tech LTD and founded by two entrepreneurs, Ivan Degtyar and Evgeny Chereshnev. Ivan, as the CEO, oversees the project, while Evgeny deals with the partners and investment side.

Ivan and Evgeny sought to conquer the global problem of malnutrition by bringing technology and science-based medicine together in a convenient tool for truly personalized nutraceuticals. They wanted to help people improve their quality of life through health tracking, telemedicine, good habits, healthy lifestyle changes, and nutrition.

Using development expertise to strengthen a fintech company

In 2013, Revo became one of the first companies in Russia to offer customers an instalment payment service for goods purchased on the Internet. The paperless loan application could be filled out quickly, helping partner stores attract more customers.

Some startups, at the stage of launching and developing the main functions, focus on the idea of the product and its value and transfer the development to a contractor. This approach reduces the demands on the in-house team and frees up time for go-to-market work. That is what fintech company Revo Technology did when they used Evrone to strengthen their team and bring their banking technology product from offline to online.

Learn more about the development of an instalment payment service

Media is a tricky industry. It is very difficult for media sites to make money solely from ads, so the most popular solution is to turn the site into a portal that meets a variety of user needs.

In 2008, we developed a universal, versatile Ruby on Rails engine that helps us quickly launch media portals and build content delivery network solutions. It was used to implement klops.ru, the largest media outlet in Kaliningrad, and later it was used in news and media production for web and on other client projects. One of which was 420on.cz, the largest informational Russian-language portal in the Czech Republic.

Learn more about the development of the largest Russian-language portal in the Czech Republic

In 2012 and 2016, we invited Steve to speak at the RailsClub (now RubyRussia) conference. Since then, Steve has been working on Rust a lot, did a lot of interesting things and we realized that we should definitely interview him once again!

We sat down with Steve to hear from him first-hand about his professional activities at the moment, the design success of Rust, a little about the "full-stack" development hype, and overcoming burnouts.

Binary Options is one of the relatively new asset trading services, and it has certainly gathered a huge number of followers over the last few years. The integration of blockchain technology in a binary options trading framework eliminates any concerns about fraud.

Bulls vs. Bears is a blockchain-based binary options trading platform that uses Tronix (TRX) crypto as the main digital currency for making trades, where players can trade on 30-second candles.

Cory Althoff is the author of “The Self-Taught Programmer” book and the founder of the Coding List, who has worked as a software engineer at eBay, as well as several startups in Silicon Valley. The Self-Taught Programmer is a book with a full curriculum to become a self-taught coder in Python, using a non-traditional approach: learn code first and theory second. It is a guide that takes you from writing your first Python program, to passing your first technical interview.

More and more people are becoming self-taught programmers nowadays, and, thinking that this trend will only continue, we decided to discuss with Cory the hardest things for new developers. He told us if it is reasonable for a new developer to learn and practice both frontend and backend development, and what kind of projects new Python developers can expect at the beginning of their careers.
