Traditional SEO focuses on how websites rank in search engine results. But as people increasingly use AI tools like ChatGPT and Google Gemini to discover products, another question matters:

When someone asks an AI tool to recommend a product in your category, does your brand get mentioned?

That’s the problem I wanted to explore while building BrandRadar, a free and open source platform for monitoring brand visibility across AI search.

GitHub Repository: https://github.com/rishu685/BrandRadar

 What is BrandRadar?

BrandRadar helps developers, startups, and businesses understand how their brands appear in AI generated answers. It provides tools for examining brand mentions, citations, competitor visibility, and website readiness for AI crawlers.

The goal is to make AI search visibility tools accessible without expensive subscriptions or paywalls.

 Key Features

 1. AI Search Visibility Audits

Run prompt based scans using supported AI providers to investigate brand mentions, direct citations, and competitor visibility. The results can help identify questions where your brand may be missing from the conversation.

 2.
llms.txt
Generator and Validator

Generate and validate
llms.txt
and
llms-full.txt
files to help organize website information for AI systems.

 3. AI Crawler and
robots.txt
Auditing

Check your website's
robots.txt
configuration for rules affecting AI crawlers, including GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and other supported bots.

 4. Schema.org Recommendations

Generate structured data recommendations for supported entity types, helping websites describe their products and organizations more clearly.

 5. Demo Sandbox

You can explore BrandRadar using its demo sandbox without configuring an API key first. For custom live scans, you can connect a Google Gemini API key.

 Why Make It Open Source?

I believe useful developer tools should be accessible to everyone, including independent developers and early stage startups.

BrandRadar is released under the MIT License. Anyone can explore the code, report bugs, suggest features, improve documentation, or contribute through pull requests.

Open source also means the project can improve through real feedback from people who use it. I’m still working on BrandRadar, and feedback from the community can help shape what comes next.

 What's Next?

Some of the planned improvements include automated weekly AI visibility reports, additional AI search citation verification, and a browser extension for quicker audits.

I’d love to hear what features would make BrandRadar more useful for your workflow.

 Try BrandRadar

If you're interested in AI search, SEO, GEO, AEO, or open source developer tools, I'd appreciate it if you checked out the project.

GitHub: https://github.com/rishu685/BrandRadar

If you find the project useful, please consider giving it a GitHub star. It helps others discover the repository and motivates me to keep building and improving it.

Feedback, issues, and contributions are all welcome. Thanks for taking a look!
