OTel Night Amsterdam v2026.05 is happening on May 20th at ING Cedar, Amsterdam — and the lineup is genuinely exciting.

Disclosure: I'm one of the organizers. Free CNCF community event, no vendor sponsorship, no commercial interest.

 What's happening

Engineers from two of the Netherlands' largest companies are coming to share real OpenTelemetry war stories:

Talk 1: Giuseppe d'Alessio & Vincent Free (ING) — OpenTelemetry at scale in one of Europe's largest banks

Talk 2: Bernardo Garcia & Ivan Merrill (Albert Heijn) — OTel in production (TBC)

No vendor pitches. No slides-only fluff. Practitioners talking to practitioners — the edge cases, the instrumentation choices they'd redo, and the patterns that actually scaled.

 Event details

📅 May 20, 2026 — doors open 6:00 PM CEST
📍 ING Cedar, 106 Bijlmerdreef, Amsterdam
🎟️ Free to attend — 24 spots left out of 50
☕ Free coffee break + food and drinks (hosted by ING)

Register: https://ocgroups.dev/cncf/group/v62fy27/event/g58n983

 Why it matters

If you're running OTel in production — whether on Kubernetes, bare metal, or anywhere in between — hearing from teams at ING and Albert Heijn is directly relevant. These are organizations with real scale, real constraints, and no incentive to sugarcoat.

See you on May 20th!
