How to keep a backup proxy subscription in Clash / v2rayN when your self-hosted node gets blocked

If you run your own VPS proxy node (VLESS, VMess, Hysteria2), you know the moment: the IP gets blocked and you're offline right when you need to look things up to fix it. The simple fix is to keep a second, independent subscription in your client so you can switch over in one click.

 Clash Verge / Clash Meta

Open Profiles, paste the backup subscription URL, click Import.

Keep your own node profile as is. When it fails, select the backup profile; switch back once your node is fixed.

Optional: set the backup profile's update interval to 24h so its node list stays fresh.

 v2rayN (Windows)

Subscription group → Subscription group settings → Add, paste the URL, save.

Update subscription (without proxy).

Your own servers stay in the list; when they stop responding, run a real-delay test and pick a working backup node.

 Shadowrocket (iOS)

Tap +, type Subscribe, paste the URL, save.

Your own node and the backup subscription coexist; long-press to switch.

Where to get a free backup

We run Roxi (https://roxi.cc) for exactly this use case: free forever, 30 min/day full speed then 5 Mbps, VLESS/VMess/Hysteria2, 16 regions, no invite code — sign up with email and copy the subscription URL into the steps above. Paid plans exist (200GB / 500GB per month) if you need more, but the free tier is enough as a fallback.
