Hey everyone! 👋

As an indie developer and student passionate about building tools that make engineering workflows smoother, I recently launched DevPulse—and I wanted to share the journey of how I built it from scratch.

You can check out the live app here: 👉 https://devpulse.sangamkunwar.com.np

Introduction: What is DevPulse?
When building web applications, I often found myself jumping across too many separate tabs and tools just to organize code snippets, check developer utilities, and track daily tasks.

I built DevPulse to solve that exact problem. It’s a modern, lightning-fast web platform designed to streamline developer workflows into a single hub. Whether you need a clean workspace, quick utility access, or an organized way to manage your day-to-day dev tasks, DevPulse keeps everything right at your fingertips.

The Tech Stack
Choosing the right tech stack is crucial for speed, performance, and scalability. For DevPulse, I chose:

Next.js (React): I went with Next.js because of its incredible server-side rendering (SSR), file-based routing, and built-in API routes. It makes building full-stack-capable React apps seamless.

Tailwind CSS: For styling, Tailwind is a game-changer. It allowed me to rapidly design a gorgeous, responsive, and modern dark-mode-first user interface without constantly context-switching to external CSS stylesheets.

TypeScript: Adding strict typing helped catch bugs early in development and kept my codebase clean and maintainable as the app grew.

Vercel: For deployment and hosting, Vercel provides unmatched speed, automatic CI/CD deployments straight from GitHub, and zero-config optimization for Next.js apps.

Challenges Faced
Every project comes with its technical hurdles. Here are two interesting challenges I solved while building DevPulse:

Ensuring Seamless Mobile Responsiveness:

Because developer dashboards often contain complex layouts, data tables, and navigation bars, making sure the UI didn't break on smaller screens was a challenge. I solved this by leveraging Tailwind's responsive prefixes (sm:, md:, lg:) and building a collapsible mobile drawer navigation to keep the workspace clean on phones and tablets.

Optimizing Initial Page Load Speed:

To ensure the app felt instant, I utilized Next.js App Router features, lazy-loaded non-critical components, and optimized asset delivery so the landing page loads in milliseconds even on slower network connections.

Conclusion & Feedback
Building DevPulse has been an incredible learning experience, but it’s only just beginning!

I would love for you to check out the live app at https://devpulse.sangamkunwar.com.np, test it out, and let me know what you think.

What features would you like to see next?

Drop your feedback and thoughts in the comments below! 👇
