Your exam form is almost done.

You have your documents.
You have your photo.

Then you see:

Upload photo: 20–50 KB, 200 × 230 px

And suddenly, a simple application becomes a trip to the cyber cafe.

I was talking about exactly these frustrations with some friends recently. Different exams ask for different photo sizes, signature sizes, PDF limits and other small requirements.

It made me think:

Why isn't there one simple place for all of this?

So I built FormSaathi.

I wanted it to be simple

The students using this might be on an entry-level Android phone with limited data.

So I focused on a few things:

Privacy: Files are processed in the browser. They don't need to be uploaded to a server.

Lightweight: Small pages and simple interactions instead of unnecessary complexity.

Offline: It can work offline and be installed as a PWA.

Precise: Image tools try to hit the requested KB range with a safety margin rather than simply “compressing” the file.

The developer side

I used AI tools quite a bit while building FormSaathi.

They helped me prototype, write code, debug and test much faster.

But the interesting part wasn't generating the code.

It was deciding:

What does a student actually need?

What should I leave out?

What happens when thousands of students use it at once?

During testing, I even caught a race condition that could have caused visitor counts to be lost if a FormSaathi link suddenly went viral in a WhatsApp group.

Small product.
Some surprisingly interesting engineering problems.

For now, FormSaathi is free, with no sign-up and no ads.
