What happens when technology meets the spirit of Shakti?
You get HackSpire’26 — the best hackathon of West Bengal, organized by the FIEM ACM Student Chapter.

Taking place on 2nd–3rd October 2026 at Future Institute of Engineering and Management (FIEM), Kolkata, HackSpire’26 is a 26-hour, completely free, in-person student hackathon built for developers, designers, innovators and problem-solvers.

Under the theme “Where Innovation Meets Shakti,” participants can explore tracks like AI, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Agriculture, Robotics and Gaming, or bring their own open-innovation idea. Teams of 2–4 students will get 26 hours to turn an idea into a working solution.

And HackSpire already has a strong legacy — its 2025 edition saw 4,100+ registrations, 254 in-person builders and 55 finalist teams.

This October, the challenge is simple:

HackSpire’26, organized by the FIEM ACM Student Chapter, is a chance to take an idea beyond the whiteboard — to build, test, fail, learn, and build again.

With the theme “Where Innovation Meets Shakti,” the event reminds us that innovation isn’t just about having ideas. It’s about having the determination to turn those ideas into reality.

As someone passionate about AI/ML, electronics, embedded systems, IoT, and software development, I’m excited to explore how different technologies can come together to solve meaningful problems.

But the real excitement lies in the journey:

🔧 Prototypes that barely work — until they suddenly do
🐛 Bugs that somehow take hours to find
🤝 Teammates who keep pushing when everything goes wrong

Every great project starts with a simple question:

“What if we could actually build this?”

That question is what makes hackathons so exciting for me.

HackSpire’26, organized by the FIEM ACM Student Chapter, is an opportunity to take that question a step further—to turn an idea into a prototype, test it, break it, improve it, and eventually make it work.

With the theme “Where Innovation Meets Shakti,” the event captures something I strongly believe in: innovation isn’t just about having a great idea. It’s about having the determination to keep working on that idea when things don’t go according to plan.

As someone who enjoys working across AI/ML, electronics, embedded systems, IoT, and software development, I’m excited about the possibility of bringing different technologies together to solve real-world problems.

But I’m equally excited about everything that happens outside the code.

The discussions that turn into ideas.

The random experiments that unexpectedly work.

The debugging sessions where one missing semicolon can consume an hour. 😅

The teammates who refuse to give up when the prototype crashes five minutes before the demo.

And the moment when everything finally comes together.

That, for me, is the real spirit of a hackathon.

HackSpire’26 is not just about building a project. It’s about building the ability to build—learning how to approach unfamiliar problems, adapt quickly, collaborate with different people, and turn limitations into opportunities.

I’m going in with no guarantee that everything will work perfectly.

But I am going in ready to experiment, learn, fail, rebuild, and create.

Because sometimes the best thing you can build at a hackathon isn't just a prototype.

It's a better version of yourself as a builder.

Hackathons have always excited me because they give us the freedom to experiment, build, fail, and learn within a short span of time. That’s exactly why I’m looking forward to HackSpire’26, organized by the FIEM ACM Student Chapter.

What makes HackSpire’26 special for me is its theme, “Where Innovation Meets Shakti.” It represents the energy and determination needed to turn an idea into something real. It’s not just about coding—it’s about solving problems, working as a team, and creating something meaningful.

I’m especially excited about meeting other students and builders, learning from mentors, exploring new technologies, and getting different perspectives on problem-solving. I believe the people we meet and the things we learn during a hackathon can be just as valuable as the project we build.

As I prepare for HackSpire’26, I’m working on improving my skills in AI/ML, electronics, embedded systems, and software development, while also focusing on teamwork and rapid prototyping. My goal is to build a solution that goes beyond just being a hackathon prototype and has the potential to create real-world impact.

More than winning, I’m looking forward to the experience—the late-night brainstorming, debugging, learning from failures, and finally seeing an idea come to life.
