&lt;p&gt;A systematic review of the literature was conducted as per Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. ExPASy-ProtParam, PHYRE2, ABCpred, and SYFPEITHI were used to predict and analyze the physicochemical properties, protein structure, and B cell/T cell-associated epitopes of LpqH protein. The recombinant LpqH protein was purified, and its immunoreactivity was analyzed with western blot. The LPS-treated mouse Ana-1 macrophages were incubated with purified LpqH protein directly.  Intrauterine balloon tamponade (IUBT) and compression sutures have been widely used in recent years in the management of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). However, there is scant literature directly comparing the clinical scenarios that led to the discriminant selection of these management modalities and the direct clinical outcomes. The purpose of this study is to compare the patient characteristics and clinical risk factors that led to the use of IUBT and compression sutures in the management of major PPH as well as the immediate outcome in a retrospective cohort. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Patients who had IUBT or compression sutures applied due to major PPH (&amp;gt;1000 ml) from 2014 to 2018 in a single obstetric unit were recruited. The patient characteristics and clinical outcome of the two groups were compared. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A total of 67 patients had IUBT and 29 patients had compression sutures applied as the first uterine sparing technique. Apart from more vaginal deliveries (25.4% vs. 3.5%) in the IUBT group compared to compression sutures, nt characteristics that favoured the selection of either IUBT or compression sutures in the management of severe PPH except for the mode of delivery. Due to the small lesion areas scattered in fundus images, it is laborious to segment the lesion of diabetic retinopathy effectively with the existing U-Net model. In this paper, we proposed a new lesion segmentation model named FFU-Net (Feature Fusion U-Net) that enhances U-Net from the following points. Firstly, the pooling layer in the network is replaced with a convolutional layer to reduce spatial loss of the fundus image. Then, we integrate multiscale feature fusion (MSFF) block into the encoders which helps the network to learn multiscale features efficiently and enrich the information carried with skip connection and lower-resolution decoder by fusing contextual channel attention (CCA) models. Finally, in order to solve the problems of data imbalance and misclassification, we present a Balanced Focal Loss function. In the experiments on benchmark dataset IDRID, we make an ablation study to verify the effectiveness of each component and compare FFU-Net against several state-of-the-art models. In comparison with baseline U-Net, FFU-Net improves the segmentation performance by 11.97%, 10.68%, and 5.79% on metrics SEN, IOU, and DICE, respectively.  We aimed to examine the prenatal clinical characteristics of women with single pregnancies undergoing external cephalic version (ECV) without anesthesia, develop a novel scoring system for predicting the ECV success rate, and demonstrate that this scoring system can be used to individualize the timing of ECV attempts. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We enrolled 270 women who underwent ECV without anesthesia at 37-40 weeks of gestation in the Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital from 2016 to 2019 and divided them into two ECV outcome groups (success vs. failure). We identified five clinical features (the fetal buttocks' station, the sum of the fundal height and station, the fetal head location, and whether the fetal head or buttocks could be grasped) as independent factors affecting the ECV success rate, and we scored them using a regression coefficient. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Women with scores of 0-3 points had ECV success rates, vaginal delivery rates, and delivery gestational ages at 16.67%, 16.67%, and 38.88 weeks, respectively; those with scores of 4-6 points had ECV success rates, vaginal delivery rates, and delivery gestational ages at 65.75%, 58.90%, and 39.62 weeks, respectively; and those with scores of 7-9 points had ECV success rates, vaginal delivery rates, and delivery gestational ages at 93.71%,74.83%, and 40.00 weeks, respectively. &lt;/p&gt;

A vertical force of 200 N was applied to each central fossa. Stress distribution was evaluated via the von Mises stress analysis. &lt;/p&gt;

 Pre-fabricated myofunctional appliances and rapid maxillary expansion (RME) has been used for the treatment of mouth-breathers with Class-II malocclusion. This study aimed to compare the treatment effects of hyrax and pre-fabricated myofunctional appliance (T4K) for the management of mouth breathers with Class II Malocclusion in mixed dentition stage. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Case records of mouth breathers with Class II Division 1 malocclusion patients treated at our institute with T4K or hyrax appliance between June 2015 to May 2019 were retrieved. The Pancherz analysis was used to compare the treatment effects. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Data of 28 patients (14 in each group) were compared. Significant advancement of maxilla was seen in both groups while mandibular length improved only with the T4K appliance. SNA and SNB changes were significantly greater in the T4K group. Molar relationship improved in both groups. Molar correction was obtained by 55.6% skeletal change and 44.4% dental change with RME. Rapamycin in vitro In the T4K group the corresponding values were 48.1% and 51.9% respectively. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Our results suggest that both pre-fabricated myofunctional appliance and RME are suitable for the treatment of mouth breathers with Class II malocclusion in the mixed dentition period. Sagittal correction of maxilla and mandible may be somewhat better with the T4K appliance. In this work, we developed a graphite-like carbon nitride-laden AuNPs (g-C3N4@Au) assisted LFIA to improve sensitivity for 17β-estradiol (E2) in foods. g-C3N4 nanosheets were applied as carriers, because of their excellent chemical stability, large surface areas and low-cost, loading large numbers of AuNPs to amplify signals and improve the overall response of g-C3N4@Au-based LFIA (g-C3N4@Au-LFIA). The lowest visual limit of detection (vLOD) of E2 is 0.5 ng mL-1 for g-C3N4@Au-LFIA, which exhibit a significantly three-fold improved analytical performance compared with that of AuNPs-LFIA. Additionally, this method was successfully used to the detection of E2 in four spiked food samples, offering a great potential of the g-C3N4@Au based LFIA for its application in food products.Pesticide adjuvants (PAs) are important components of pesticide products. However, limited information is available regarding their occurrences in foodstuffs. Herein, eight common-used PAs were investigated in vegetables in North China in 2014-2016. The residue levels of total PAs in vegetables from markets and farms were 500 and 661 μg/kg, respectively. The highest residues of total PAs were found in cauliflowers (average 1.53 × 103 μg/kg, market vegetables) and spinaches (average 3.72 × 103 μg/kg, farm vegetables), respectively. With the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the use of chlorine disinfection has increased, raising the already substantial risks of DBP exposure. While a number of methods are able to remove TCAA, their application for continuous treatment is limited due to their complexity and expensive or hazardous inputs. We investigated a novel system that employs palladium (Pd0) nanoparticles (PdNPs) for catalytic reductive dechlorination of TCAA. H2 was delivered directly to PdNPs in situ coated on the surface of bubble-free hollow-fiber gas-transfer membranes. The H2-based membrane Pd film reactor (H2-MPfR) achieved a high catalyst-specific TCAA reduction rate, 32 L/g-Pd/min, a value similar to the rate of using homogeneously suspended PdNP, but orders of magnitude higher than with other immobilized PdNP systems. In batch tests, over 99% removal of 1 mM TCAA was achieved in 180 min with strong product selectivity (≥ 93%) to acetic acid. During 50 days of continuous operation, over 99% of 1 mg/L influent TCAA was removed, again with acetic acid as the major product (≥ 94%). We identified the reaction pathways and their kinetics for TCAA reductive dechlorination with PdNPs using direct delivery of H2. Sustained continuous TCAA removal, high selectivity to acetic acid, and minimal loss of PdNPs support that the H2-MPfR is a promising catalytic reactor to remove chlorinated DBPs in practice. &lt;br&gt;

However, its effect on N leaching loss in red soils is limited. In the present study, red soils were collected from wasteland, farmland, and slopeland in the Yunnan Plateau. Maize, as a host plant, was cultured in a dual-compartment cultivation system. There were mycorrhizal and hyphal compartments for the AMF inoculation treatment and root and soil compartments for the non-inoculation treatment. The N concentration and uptake in maize, N concentration in pore water within two depth (0-20 and 20-40 cm), and N leaching losses from soil under simulated heavy rainfall (40 and 80 mm/h) were analyzed. Results showed that AMF inoculation significantly enhanced the biomass and N uptake in maize. Compared with the root and soil compartments, the N concentrations in pore water and their leaching losses from the mycorrhizal and hyphal compartments were decreased by 48-77% and 51-74%, respectively. Moreover, significant or extremely significantly positive correlations were observed between the N concentrations in pore water with the N leaching losses from soil. The three-way ANOVA showed that AMF highly significantly decreased N concentrations in pore water and their leaching losses from wasteland, farmland, and slopeland; rainfall intensity had strong influences on the N concentration in pore water from farmland and N leaching losses from wasteland and farmland, whereas the maize root's effect was insignificant. The study indicated that the AMF-induced decreases in the N leaching loss from red soils were caused by increased N uptake by maize and decreased N concentrations in pore water. These results have implications for reducing nutrient leaching loss through the management of beneficial microorganisms in soils.Recent attention has been focused on reproductive toxicity of nanoscale materials in combination with pre-existing environmental pollutants. Due to its unique characteristics, bismuth (III) oxide (Bi2O3) nanoparticles (BONPs) are being used in diverse fields including cosmetics and biomedicine. Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) is a known endocrine disruptor that most common sources of BaP exposure to humans are cigarette smoke and well-cooked barbecued meat. Hence, joint exposure of BONPs and BaP in humans is common. There is scarcity of information on toxicity of BONPs in combination with BaP in human reproductive system. In this work, combined effects of BONPs and BaP in mouse spermatogonia (GC-1 spg) cells were assessed. Results showed that combined exposure of BONPs and BaP synergistically induced cell viability reduction, lactate dehydrogenase leakage, induction of caspases (-3 and -9) and mitochondrial membrane potential loss in GC-1 spg cells. Co-exposure of BONPs and BaP also synergistically induced production of pro-oxidants (reactive oxygen species and hydrogen peroxide) and reduction of antioxidants (glutathione and several antioxidant enzymes). Experiments with N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC, a reactive oxygen species scavenger) indicated that oxidative stress was a plausible mechanism of synergistic toxicity of BONPs and BaP in GC-1 spg cells. This retrospective study aims to describe cases of respiratory capillariosis in cats from the city of Belgrade, Serbia. Between 2015 and 2019, a total of 155 pet cats with or without respiratory symptoms were submitted to physical examination and parasitological examination of the feces. All cats lived indoor but had free access to outdoor. In suburban settlements, wild carnivores commonly share their living environments with owned cats and dogs. It can be assumed that more intense urbanization spreading into the natural habitats of will carnivores creates the opportunity for closer and more frequent contacts between the population of cats and feral carnivores which might increase the risk of feline contamination. The findings confirm the existence of capillaries in cats in urban areas of the city of Belgrade, contribute to a better understanding of the epidemiology of this nematode and warn that, because of close contacts between cats of pets and humans, capillaries can cause human infection.The aim of this study was to investigate the difference in Fecal Egg Counts (FEC) with regard to group size, age, sex and body condition of wild free-roaming Przewalski's horses in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (Ukraine), across different seasons, over a five-year period (2014 - 2018). We hypothesized that horses from larger group sizes would have higher faecal egg counts (FECs). The relationship between FECs and the year and season of sample collection, and age, sex and group size of the horses was analyzed. Generalized linear model using positive strongylid FEC`s as a variable response, was used to investigate the differences in FECs between the groups. Nematode (Strondylidae, Parascaris spp., Habronematidae) and cestode (Anoplocephalidae) eggs were also identified. Stronglyids were the most prevalent helminth egg, and had the highest FECs. The model for egg counts of strongylids showed that season and group size of horses were statistically significant. Presence of strongylid eggs was not dependent on age and sex of horses. We suggest that this could be a result of parasite transmission between individuals and groups in places were animals aggregate around water sources or collective farms. Results obtained in this current study broaden the knowledge of gastrointestinal parasites in free-roaming horses under wild natural conditions.Protostrongylids, small nematode lungworms, are an integral part of the wild ruminant helminth community, which can damage animals' health when they are held in captivity or semi-captive conditions. However, plant uptake of CIP in different chemical speciation has still far from clear now. Thus, the toxicity and uptake of CIP by rice plants were investigated under different solution pH, owing to its contribution to different chemical speciation of CIP. Results display that high pH-driven changes of CIP from cation (CIP+) to anion (CIP-) decreased its adsorption and uptake by excised roots and intact plants, respectively. However, CIP concentrations in roots, stems and leaves all exhibited no significant differences with increasing solution pH. Moreover, six intermediates of CIP were detected and two possible transformation pathways were proposed in rice plants, including firstly oxidation and following consecutive cleavage of piperazine ring. After accumulated in plant tissues, CIP significantly inhibited the plant growth, decreased the photosynthetic pigments contents and enhanced the antioxidant enzyme activities in a concentration-dependent manner. Besides, high pH exacerbated the growth inhibition and changed the oxidative damage responses of rice plants to CIP. These findings indicate that the uptake and toxicity of CIP in rice plants were influenced by solution pH-driven changes of its chemical speciation.An environment-friendly, cost-effective, and facile N self-doping porous carbon (NC) were prepared through in-situ pyrolysis of nitrogen abundant Taihu blue algae biomass for CO2 uptake. It was found that the CO2 sorption capacity of porous carbon prepared through carbonization at 800 °C with KOH activation (N-C-800) exhibit higher CO2 uptake capacity of 4.88 (1 bar and 0 °C) and 2.76 mmol/g (1 bar and 25 °C) respectively, with the CO2/N2 selectivity of N-C-800 attaining 39.3. Besides, the adsorption capacity of N-C-800 remained stable even after 7 repeated cycles, with a slight loss of nearly 6%. Moreover, total graphitic N (Ntg) sources from the intrinsic N in N-C-800 is not only higher than other agro-sourced porous carbon materials, but the graphitic N performed a sound correlation with the CO2 uptake capacity. Combining experiments with Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations, higher adsorption energy of N-C-800 (-13.6 kJ/mol, comparing with -6.9 kJ/mol of N-free carbon framework) would render the efficient adsorption of CO2 molecular onto the graphitic N site. The current study not only provides a new option for the reclamation of Taihu blue algae biomass as N self-doping material, but a proof-of-concept investigation employing NC materials as an appealing candidate for CO2 capture.Surface water plays a significant role in world development by promoting economic growth and health benefits to humans and animals whose lives depend on good water quality in the ecosystem. Thus, this study investigated the differences in physical and chemical properties of surface water from two lakes (Lakes Jackson and Talquin) and a pond (Pedrick Pond). Also, the influence of environmental factors on the microbial communities that live within the water environment was examined. Genomic DNA was extracted from the water samples collected and 16S rRNA sequencing method was employed to characterize the microbial community compositions across the three locations. The results obtained suggest that the water sources met the recommended recreational water quality criteria standard for clean water. Overall, Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Cyanobacteria, Bacteroidetes were the main bacterial phyla present in the communities, while Archaea was mainly dominated by Euryachaeota. Pressure, conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), and pH accounted for 74.2% of the variation in the distribution of the microbial community in the three locations (P less then 0.05), while 58.2% of the variation in the microbial community distribution was accounted for by pressure and conductivity. The high temperature observed in the Pedrick Pond correlated with the distribution of genera hgcl_clades and Legionella. While in Lake Talquin, water conductivity was significantly associated with the abundance of Cyanobium_PCC_6307, Sediminibacterium, and Conexibacter.
