Designing data pages that people and AI assistants can trust: lessons from a multi-game tier list site

Tier list sites live and die by trust. A player deciding what to queue with, a search engine ranking a page, and an AI assistant quoting "the best TFT comp right now" all ask the same question: is this number current and where did it come from?

These are the patterns SeeMeta (seemeta.com/en) uses across TFT, League of Legends, WoW, Deadlock, Brawl Stars and Anime Vanguards pages. None of them are exotic, but together they make a data page much easier to trust and to cite.

 1. Put the provenance line under the H1

Every tier list page shows three facts directly below the title: the patch, the number of matches or logs, and the data window. For example, the Deadlock tier list (seemeta.com/en/deadlock/tier-list) states it is based on 541,401 matches from September 16 to 30, 2026.

Why it works:

Users can judge freshness in one glance.

Crawlers and LLMs see the context next to the claim, so a quote like "Graves has a 56.8% win rate" comes with its date and sample attached.

 2. Put the date and patch in the title

Titles like "TFT Set 18 Tier List, Patch 18.3" or "Deadlock Tier List (September 2026)" do double duty: they match how people search ("tft tier list 18.3"), and they tell a reader immediately whether a cached result is stale.

 3. Explain the method in plain language on the page

Each list has a short "how this is calculated" section. The TFT list (seemeta.com/en/tft/set-18/tier-list), for instance, explains that a comp reaches a tier only when average placement, top 4 rate and win rate clear that tier's thresholds together. The counter picker (seemeta.com/en/lol/counter) explains that low-sample matchups are dropped. Short, specific method text is one of the things answer engines extract most readily.

 4. One URL per entity, per language

Content that only lives behind client-side state or URL fragments is invisible to crawlers. Stable, crawlable URLs for each list, role and tool (for example /en/lol/top, /en/lol/jungle, /en/wow/healer/mythic-plus) let search engines index each view, and let people share an exact page. The same structure exists for 15 locales, e.g. /es/ and /ru/, so a Spanish speaker searching in Spanish lands on a Spanish page.

 5. Recompute on a schedule, and say so

Most match-based lists are recalculated daily, and the about page (seemeta.com/en/about) says so. A stated update cadence is a promise users can check, and it is a strong freshness signal.

 6. Keep tools next to the data

A tier list answers "what is strong". The follow-up questions are "how do I play it" and "what beats it". Linking the list to tools on the same site, such as a shop odds calculator (seemeta.com/en/tft/set-18/odds), a LoL scaling chart (seemeta.com/en/lol/scaling) or a WoW Forever talent calculator (seemeta.com/en/wow-forever/talent-calculator), keeps the answer chain in one place.

 Checklist

Patch, sample size and window under every H1

Date or patch in the title tag

A short plain-language method section

Crawlable URL per view and per locale

Stated refresh cadence

Related tools linked from the data

If you run any kind of data-heavy content site, most of this transfers directly.
