Yes, you heard me right. I am not a full-time programmer, but managed to contribute to two well-known applications this October. Let me explain.

About Me

I am a DevOps Engineer / Cloud Architect from Finland, associated with an industry-leading quantum computer manufacturer IQM Finland Oy. I am a person more inclined to the IT infrastructure and not a seasoned programmer. However, I liked using the applications developed in the open-source ecosystem as it gives us leverage to do what we think is right. There are opinions, and there are choices always.

So, what's next? Give back... Yes, giving back is the key to keeping this ecosystem healthy. So I decided that I should also give back. That's how I have once again turned into Hacktoberfest.

Highs and Lows

The repositories I chose to contribute this year were freeCodeCamp and Grafana. Both have admiring teams and exceptional beginners' experience.

Until now, the experience has been awesome.

Intro

I am a newbie (not to read :), but to write ;)) here and you may see me around from now on hopefully. I am a DevOps Engineer / Cloud Architect from Finland, associated with an industry-leading quantum computer manufacturer IQM Finland Oy.

Background

I have been in the IT industry for around 8 years or so and have been using Open Source applications for a while. I am mostly a seasoned Cloud Architect and an automation specialist.

Pledge

I did my first Hacktoberfest a couple of years ago with my company GitHub user. From this year, I am planning to allocate some of my time to contribute back to the Open source community as docs, code, and so on.
