 Social and cultural norms, operating through social networks, may influence an individual's dietary choices. We examined correlations between social network characteristics and dietary patterns among South Asians in the United States (U.S.). &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Data from the Mediators of Atherosclerosis in South Asians Living in America(MASALA) Social Network study were analyzed among 756 participants (mean age = 59 y standard deviation [SD] = 9 y; 44% women). A culturally adapted, validated food frequency questionnaire was used for dietary assessment. A posteriori dietary patterns using principal component analysis were named 1) animal protein, 2) fried snacks, sweets and high-fat dairy, and 3) fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes. Social network characteristics were assessed using a standard egocentric approach, where participants (egos) self-reported data on perceived dietary habits of their network members. Partial correlations between social network characteristics and egos' dietary patterns were examined. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The mean soention studies among South Asians should consider social network characteristics as candidate components for dietary intervention. &lt;br&gt;
 The anticoagulant edoxaban is used clinically at doses of 30-60 mg/day; however, we experienced a patient who had taken an overdose of edoxaban of 750 mg. We investigated the pharmacokinetics of edoxaban in this patient by using liquid chromatography-tandem spectrometry to estimate the follow-up period in emergency clinical practice with this medicine. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The patient was a 57-year-old woman (body weight, 69 kg) who had taken a single oral dose of 750 mg of edoxaban in a suicide attempt. She was emergently admitted to Kyoto Medical Center. The patient's edoxaban plasma concentrations during ambulance transport (8 h after oral administration) were ~ 4900 ng/ml, and the concentration gradually decreased to ~ 10 ng/mL and to detectable but unmeasurable levels of ~ 1.0 ng/mL at 60 h and 100 h, respectively. The linear range of the relationship between the dose and plasma concentration was assumed to have been exceeded during the first 8 h; however, the measured elimination rate of edoxaban was similar to that visodel previously established for edoxaban to predict the pharmacokinetics in the current case. It is hoped that the results of this study, which encompass drug monitoring data in the patient and visualized pharmacokinetic prediction, will serve as an index when setting the treatment and follow-up period in cases of drug overdose for medicines such as edoxaban in emergency clinical practice.The breadth of children's attentional field around their mother determines whether securely or insecurely attached children are at risk to develop depressive symptoms when confronted with distress in adolescence. To test this effect longitudinally, we measured children's (M age = 10.93; N = 109) baseline attentional breadth around their mother, attachment status (combining attachment coherence, secure base script knowledge, and self-reported trust), and self-reported depressive symptoms. One and two years later, we measured self-reported distress and depressive symptoms. We tested three-way interactions between attentional breadth × attachment × distress on changes in depressive symptoms. This three-way interaction was marginally significantly linked with changes in depressive symptoms from baseline to year 1, and significantly with changes in depressive symptoms from baseline to year 2. Results pointed to the protective role of a narrow attentional field around the mother in middle childhood for securely attached children who are confronted with distress later in life.Numerous studies have shown a consistent relationship between verbal working memory (WM) and native-language as well as non-native language learning abilities. However, the role of attentional abilities has been rarely explored, although these abilities have been shown to be associated both with verbal working memory and oral language proficiency. This study investigated the association between WM, attention and language proficiency in young adults raised with three different languages (Luxembourgish, German and French). Auditory-verbal WM abilities were assessed via an immediate serial recall task. Attentional abilities were assessed via auditory-verbal and visuo-spatial attentional tasks. Using a Bayesian correlational approach, we observed robust evidence for an association between auditory-verbal WM abilities and non-native language proficiency. At the same time, we observed no reliable evidence in favor of an association between language proficiency and auditory-verbal/visuo-spatial attentional measures. These results suggest that auditory-verbal WM and non-native language proficiency are strongly linked in young multilingual adults, irrespective of auditory-verbal or visuo-spatial attentional abilities. &lt;br&gt;
 The purpose of this study was to examine the association of lean body mass (LBM) to the development of vasomotor symptoms (VMS) as women transition through menopause. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This study is a secondary use of data available for public use from follow up visits six through 10 for participants in the Study of Women's Health Across the Nation. The study examined 2533 women, between the ages 42-52 years, each year over a10-year period. buy Sodium palmitate Data was modeled for associations of lean body mass and VMS. Changes in LBM since prior visit and since baseline were also modeled along with differences in means using binary logistic regression, adjusting for covariates. &lt;/p&gt;

Additionally, when traits change in an environment-dependent way through phenotypic plasticity, the genetic variation underlying plasticity will also be under selection. These processes could create a landscape of differentiation across populations in traits and their plasticity. Here, we performed a dry-down experiment under controlled conditions to measure responses in seedlings of a shrub species from the Cape Floristic Region, the common sugarbush (Protea repens). We measured morphological and physiological traits, and sequenced whole transcriptomes of leaf tissues from eight populations that represent both the climatic and the geographical distribution of this species. We found that there is substantial variation in how populations respond to drought, but we also observed common patterns such as reduced leaf size and leaf thickness, and up-regulation of stress-related and down-regulation of growth-related gene groups. Both high environmental heterogeneity and milder source site climates were associated with higher plasticity in various traits and co-expression gene networks. Associations between traits, trait plasticity, gene networks and the source site climate suggest that temperature may play a greater role in shaping these patterns when compared to precipitation, in line with recent changes in the region due to climate change. We also found that traits respond to climatic variation in an environment-dependent manner some associations between traits and climate were apparent only under certain growing conditions. Together, our results uncover common responses of P. repens populations to drought, and climatic drivers of population differentiation in functional traits, gene expression and their plasticity.Tacrolimus is a key drug in kidney transplantation (KT) with a narrow therapeutic index. The association between the tacrolimus metabolism rate and KT outcomes have not been investigated in large-scale multi-center studies. The Korean Organ Transplantation Registry (KOTRY) datasets were used. A total of 3456 KT recipients were analyzed. The tacrolimus metabolism rate was defined as blood trough concentration of tacrolimus (C0 ) divided by the daily dose (D). The patients were grouped into fast, intermediate, or slow metabolizers by the C0 /D measured 6 months after transplantation. The slow metabolism group was associated with a 2.7 ml/min/1.73 m2 higher adjusted estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) at 6 months [95% confidence interval (C.I.) 1.2-4.3, P = 0.001], less acute rejection (AR) within 6 months [Odds ratio (OR) 0.744, 95% C.I. 0.585-0.947, P = 0.016], and less interstitial fibrosis and tubular atrophy [OR 0.606, 95% C.I. 0.390-0.940, P = 0.025]. Fast tacrolimus metabolism affected the 6-month post-KT eGFR through mediation of AR [natural indirect effect (NIE) -0.434, 95% C.I. -0.856 to -0.012, P = 0.044) and delayed graft function (DGF; NIE -0.119, 95% C.I. -0.231 to -0.007, P = 0.038). Slow tacrolimus metabolism was associated with better post-KT eGFR. Neuropeptides and neurotransmitters, such as neuropeptide Y and dopamine, can be central to the pathological mechanisms of melanocyte destruction. They link into a bidirectional network connecting cutaneous nerves, the neuroendocrine axis and the immune system, and through their local influence on cutaneous inflammation, to the antigen-specific regulatory T cells and the chemokine ligand type 9/chemokine receptor type 1 axis, which is thought to be the final pathway for melanocyte destruction.Single-parent expression (SPE) is defined as gene expression in only one of the two parents. SPE can arise from differential expression between parental alleles, termed non-presence/absence (non-PAV) SPE, or from the physical absence of a gene in one parent, termed PAV SPE. We used transcriptome data of diverse Zea mays (maize) inbreds and hybrids, including 401 samples from five different tissues, to test for differences between these types of SPE genes. A positive correlation was observed between the genetic distance of the two inbred parents and the number of SPE genes identified. Polymorphic transposable element insertions in promoter sequences contributed to the high level of cis regulation for PAV SPE and non-PAV SPE genes. The expression of parentally silent alleles in hybrids of non-PAV SPE genes was relatively rare but occurred in most hybrids. Non-PAV SPE genes with expression of the silent allele in hybrids are more likely to exhibit above high parent expression level than hybrids that do not express the silent allele, leading to non-additive expression. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of the nature of non-PAV SPE and PAV SPE genes and their roles in gene expression complementation in maize hybrids.Pentatricopeptide repeat (PPR) proteins form a large family of proteins targeted to organelles, where they post-transcriptionally modulate gene expression through binding to specific RNA sequences. Among them, the mitochondria-targeted restorer-of-fertility (Rf) PPRs inhibit peculiar mitochondrial genes that are detrimental to male gametes and cause cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS). Here, we revealed three nuclear loci involved in CMS in a cross between two distant Arabidopsis thaliana strains, Sha and Cvi-0. We identified the causal gene at one of these loci as RFL24, a conserved gene encoding a PPR protein related to known Rf PPRs. By analysing fertile revertants obtained in a male sterile background, we demonstrate that RFL24 promotes pollen abortion, in contrast with the previously described Rf PPRs, which allow pollen to survive in the presence of a sterilizing cytoplasm.       <title>Divergent reactions of principal production to growing rainfall variation throughout international drylands.</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;To assess community pharmacists' (CPs') awareness and uptake of evidence-based antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) strategies, attitudes toward collaboration with general practitioners (GPs), and needs to improve AMS practices. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A nationwide survey of randomly sampled community pharmacies across Australia was conducted in April-October2019. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The response rate of CPs was 30.7% (613 of 2000) and 592 participating CPs (96.5%) described the key barriers to and facilitators of improving AMS. CPs (447 of 613, 72.9%) were familiar with AMS but felt that they would require training (468 of 612, 76.5%) and access to AMS practice guidelines (566 of 605, 93.6%). Respondents perceived that AMS programs could reduce the inappropriate use of antimicrobials (409 of 612, 66.8%) and the costs of treating infection (508 of 612, 83.0%). CPs often counseled patients (591 of 609, 97.0%) and reviewed drug interactions or allergies (569 of 607, 93.8%) before dispensing antimicrobials. Respondents less often used the national Therap AMS activities. Improving GPs' receptiveness and system structures for increased GP-CP collaboration seem to be a priority to accelerate CP-led AMS implementation. Further study is required to understand the views of stakeholders about the feasibility of implementing evidence-based GP-CP collaborative AMS approaches. &lt;br&gt;

The objective of this rapid review was to summarize the available literature on human studies of the potential maternal or fetal health effects of vaping or women's perceptions of vaping during pregnancy. A systematic search was completed in the following databases Medline, EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science, and CINAHL. A search strategy was developed combining the terms pregnancy and vaping. Findings were divided into two groups and summarized as 1) Health outcomes following vaping during pregnancy; and 2) Perceptions pregnant women have related to vaping during pregnancy. A total of 760 articles were retrieved and, after applying the inclusion/exclusion criteria and screening, 19 studies were included. Five included studies provided evidence on potential health outcomes and 14 were focused on perceptions. There is emerging evidence that vaping during pregnancy may increase the risk of small for gestational age newborns. Pregnant women generally report that they used vaping products during pregnancy for smoking cessation and perceived that this was a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes. Overall, there was consensus that there is a lack of information on maternal and fetal health outcomes following vaping during pregnancy. Based on the findings of this rapid review, there is an urgent need for high-quality studies in pregnant women to evaluate the potential in utero and long-term effects of exposure to prenatal vaping. &lt;br&gt;
 Sexual dysfunction has long been overlooked in the broader context of sexual and reproductive health services. As a result, and in the absence of international sexual dysfunction treatment guidelines, recommendations have instead been developed by a variety of professional associations, worldwide. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We conducted a mapping of existing recommendations addressing a wide array of conditions related to sexual function/dysfunction. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We contacted 25 professional associations from around the world and held an online open call for guidelines. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Eligible submissions had to provide recommendations on treatment related to male or female sexual dysfunction. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Twelve guidelines from 11 associations were included. Of the 195 recommendations extracted, 61% were related to men, 53% were related specifically to treatment, and 48% did some form of evidence assessment. &lt;/p&gt;

 The C0-C2 axial rotation test is a measure of upper cervical range of motion (UCROM), reported to be reliable in a headache free population. The objective was to determine the intra- and inter-rater reliability of the C0-C2 axial rotation test in people with a diagnosis of cervicogenic headache (CGH) or episodic migraine. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Two therapists independently evaluated UCROM during the C0-C2 axial rotation test and flexion-rotation test (FRT) with an iPhone in 70 subjects (mean age 37.7 SD 11.6 years) with a diagnosis of CGH (35 subjects) or episodic migraine (35 subjects) on two occasions. Measurement procedures were standardized; and the order of testing randomized. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Reliability of the C0-C2 axial rotation test was moderate to high (ICC&amp;gt;0.70). The standard error of measurement and minimum detectable change for this test were at most 2°. In subjects with CGH mean UCROM to the most restricted side was 9.3° (1.9) and 8.8° (2.1) for rater 1 and 2 respectively. While in patients with episodic migraine mean UCROM to the restricted side was 13.7° (1.6) and 13.6° (2.0) for rater 1 and 2 respectively. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Studies published between 2009 and 2019 were identified via a comprehensive search of the following databases CINAHL, OVID Medline, EMBASE, EMCARE, PsychINFO, Johanna Briggs Institute, ERIC and SCOPUS. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The initial search located 2309 Articles. After screening and checking for eligibility 14 articles were critically appraised using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program checklist for qualitative papers, the McMaster's Critical Review Form for quantitative papers and MMAT Appraisal tool for mixed method papers. The papers were then analysed thematically. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Thirteen studies met the inclusion criteria for the review (four quantitative, six mixed method, three qualitative). We identified an overarching central theme of sense of belonging and acceptance along with thorative clinical placement programs as there were few research findings found related to these non-student participant groups. Exploring student placement experiences that include both traditional and Collaborative models would provide greater insight into the value of these programs.The emergence of large scale production techniques for 2D particulate materials has dramatically increased their applications potential. Understanding the interactions of biological cells with such particulate material is therefore of paramount importance, both for toxicological assessment and potential biomedical applications. Conventional in-vitro cytological assays commonly record only a single colorimetric end-point, and do not provide an in-depth analysis of how such materials are uptaken and processed within cells. To demonstrate its potential as an alternative, label free approach, confocal Raman micro-spectroscopy has been used to profile the cellular response of macrophage-like immune cells as a result of exposure to a sub-lethal dose of particulate MoS2, as an example novel 2D material. Particles were seen to be uptaken and trafficked in sub-cellular vesicles, and this sensitive technique allows differences in the biochemical composition of the vesicles to be assessed and monitored as a function of ells can be monitored as a function of time, while it can also be used for screening other micro/nano materials for toxicology and/or establishing cell responses.Optical, rheological and metabolic properties of the apple, hawthorn, artichoke, grape, rosehip and blackberry organic vinegar produced by deep culture method (handmade traditional method) were analysed using UV-Vis spectroscopy and rheology techniques. Epigenetic activity inhibition Flow behaviours for all samples were analysed in the shear rate range of 10-3 to 103 1/s and in frequency range of 10-3 to 103rad/s, respectively. Absorption spectra for six organic vinegars was observed two peaks around 215 and 285nm due to the presence of phenolic compounds and organic acids such as acetic. The effects of optical transitions of organic molecules on the absorption coefficient values for vinegars were determined. Optical energy band gaps of all samples were found to be consistent with Planck's radiation approach known as Rayleigh-Jeans law and Tauc law. The rheological/flow properties of the all vinegars were found to be relevant with non-Newtonian flow behaviour and Ostwald-de Waele model. From the results of optical and rheological analysis, which determines the quantity and quality characteristics of all organic vinegars, it was concluded that these vinegars are in a level that people can drink easily.KTaO3 and Cu2+ doped KTaO3 were prepared by a solvothermal process. The measurements of XRD, FTIR, XPS, SEM, BET specific surface area, DRS, photoluminescence, photocurrent and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements were carried out to investigate their physical and chemical properties. Especially, the photocatalytic activities of them were revealed by the photocatalysis of MB with irradiation of light in UV-Vis region. The measurements indicate that the Cu2+ doping does not obviously influence the phase and microstructure of KTaO3, but highly changes the optical and electrochemical properties. Cu2+ doped KTaO3 shows higher photocatalytic activity than KTaO3 in the degradation of methylene blue with irradiation of light in UV-Vis region, which results from the enhanced light absorbance, more efficient transfers and separation of photogenerated charge carriers.Thirteen Λ-S states of TlBr molecule are calculated by the method of multireference configuration interaction (MRCI) plus Davidson correction (+Q), and the spectroscopic constants of these states are fitted. The dipole moment of thirteen Λ-S states are also included and analyzed in this calculation. Two bound states split into five Ω states with the SOC effect. The interaction between the molecular configurations of TlBr is analyzed with spin orbit coupling. Considering the forbidden transition, transition dipole moment with SOC effect is considered. On account of the accurate potential energy curves and the transition dipole moment, the Franck-Condon factors and radiative lifetime of the a3Π0+ ↔ Χ1Σ0++ transition are calculated. The feasibility of laser cooling of TlBr molecule is analyzed by comparing with the thallium compounds and the bromides of the group-IIIA.We propose a new wavelength selection algorithm based on combined moving window (CMW) and variable dimension particle swarm optimization (VDPSO) algorithm. CMW retains the advantages of the moving window algorithm, and different windows can overlap each other to realize automatic optimization of spectral interval width and number. VDPSO algorithms improve the PSO algorithm. They can search the data space in different dimensions, and reduce the risk of limited local extrema and over fitting. Four different high-performance variable selection algorithms-BOSS, VCPA, iVISSA and IRF-are compared in three NIR data sets (corn, beer and fuel). The results show that VDPSO-CMW has better performance.       <title>Methodical Report on Accidents from the Women's and men's Basketball.</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;This study aimed to determine the prevalence of physical inactivity and sedentary behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic among Bangladeshi people. An online survey was conducted among 2,028 people over a period of 10 days on June, 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic at a time that the number of newly diagnosed cases was increasing, lockdown was still in place. Survey questions included socio-demographics and an adapted version of the IPAQ-SF to assess physical activity and sedentary behaviors. The prevalence rates of physical inactivity ( less then 600 MET-minutes/week) and high sedentary behaviors (≥8 h/day) among Bangladeshi people were 37.9% and 20.9%, respectively. Regression analyses revealed that young age, being a student, from a middle-class family, or upper-class family, living with nuclear family, urban living, and suffering from no chronic diseases were all associated with physical inactivity and high sedentary behaviors. Moreover, physical inactivity and high sedentary behavior were strongly interrelated. However, many of the univariate risk factors exhibited interdependency. During the COVID-19 pandemic coinciding with lockdown measures a sizeable proportion of Bangladeshi people were physically inactive and reported sedentary behaviors ≥8 h/day. Public campaigns and media-based interventions encouraging home-based physical activities should be promoted to attenuate the impact of lockdown measures during a pandemic.Aegle marmelos (L.) is a seasonal fruit that contains significant amounts of bioactives like, phenolic acids (gallic acids, 2,3-dihydroxy benzoic acid, chlorogenic acid, p-coumaric acid, vanillic acid), flavonoid (rutin), organic acids (oxalic acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, lactic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, propionic acid, succinic acid, fumaric acid), vitamin C, vitamin B group (thiamine, niacin, pyridoxine, pantothenic acid, biotin, cobalamins, riboflavin), tocopherols (α-tocopherol, β-tocopherol, γ-tocopherol, δ-tocopherol), carotenes (α-carotene, β-carotene, γ-carotene, δ-carotene) and also rich in essential minerals (potassium, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, iron, copper, manganese). This study provides a comprehensive composition analysis (determined using RP-HPLC and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) Spectroscopy). In vitro medicinal activities (antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory activity, anti-diabetic activity) are quantified for different bael samples. The study also investigates the changes of these bioactive components with freeze, sun, hot air, and microwave drying. The study gives a proper vision to preserve the nutraceutically rich pulp by converting it into fruit leather.The prime aim of this study was to enumerate predominant bacteria from polluted lake soil samples, which possess polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) fabricating potential and identify the suitable growth conditions and nutritional factors for PHB fabrication. From several numbers of bacterial cultures, one culture has the competence to yield PHB, and it was endorsed through Sudan Black B stain, Nile red staining, SEM analysis, and growth in PHB selective media. Under the microscopic observation, the fluorescent cells and polymeric granules were observed in the fluorescent microscope and SEM, respectively. This PHB fabricating isolate was recognized as Bacillus cereus NDRMN001 through 16S rRNA partial sequence analysis. The structural characteristics of PHB produced by B. cereus NDRMN001 were studied through FT-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR analysis. The peak observed at 1759.27 cm-1 on FT-IR analysis is corresponding to the signal band of PHB. In 1H NMR peaks were noticed at 1.67, 2.37 to 2.71, and 3.38 to 7.68 which corresponding to -CH3, -CH2, and -CH protons of PHB. About 4 notable peaks were noticed in 13C NMR analysis at 19.62, 68.27, 40.68, and 169.11 ppm which appeared close to the carboxyl group of PHB. About 10% of inoculum, pH 7.5, 2 g L of yeast extract, 20 g L of rice bran, 35 °C, and 2 days of incubation were recognized as optimal growth conditions for B. cereus NDRMN001 to produce PHB. The identified B. cereus NDRMN001 has the potential to yield 91.48% of PHB as 33.19 g L of PHB from 36.26 g L of culture biomass. The complete results conclude that the B. Poly(vinyl alcohol) molecular weight cereus NDRMN001 screened from polluted lake soil has the competence to produce fine quality and quantity of PHB in a short duration of fabrication process under favorable conditions with the utilization of cheap nutritional factors. &lt;br&gt;
 This study sought to collaborate with key stakeholders to reach a consensus regarding the predominant barriers preventing the uptake of HIV testing services (HTS) by men and co-create an acceptable educational program to improve the knowledge of HIV self-testing (HIVST) among men in Rwanda. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We employed the nominal group technique to identify a consensus regarding the predominant barriers currently impeding the male uptake of HTS. The health education program content was guided by the ranked barriers. We applied Mezirow's Transformational Learning Theory for curriculum development. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Eleven key barriers currently impeding the male uptake of HTS were identified in the nominal group process. The stakeholders co-created an interactive, structured curriculum containing information on the health locus of control; HIV etiology, transmission, diagnosis, status disclosure benefits, care and treatment services; and an overview of the HIVST background and test procedure to address multiple barriers. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Key stakeholders co-created a comprehensive health education program tailored to men, which integrates education about health beliefs, HIV/AIDS and HIVST. Further studies to assess the effectiveness of the program are needed. It is anticipated that the intervention will improve the uptake of HIVST among men in Kigali, Rwanda. &lt;br&gt;
