But when you need something — a quick answer, a file summary, help drafting a message — you just type <a class="mentioned-user" href="https://dev.to/sophie">@sophie</a>. No switching tabs. No copy pasting.</p> <p>Every user also gets a private room called MySophie — think out loud, ask anything, nobody else sees it.</p> <p>And there are client rooms — dedicated spaces for each client where they only see what you share.</p> <h2> The stack </h2> <ul> <li>Next.js 14</li> <li>Vercel + Vercel KV</li> <li>Anthropic Claude API</li> <li>Clerk for auth</li> <li>Capacitor for mobile (native app coming)</li> <li>Vercel Blob for file storage</li> </ul> <h2> What I shipped on launch day </h2> <ul> <li>Discovered push notifications were broken — fixed same day</li> <li>Added a live demo on the landing page — no sign up needed, just type</li> <li>Faster message polling</li> <li>Spanish and Czech translations</li> </ul> <h2> Try it </h2> <p>You can try Sophie without signing up at meetsophie.app — there's a chat widget right on the homepage.</p> <p>Would love feedback from developers especially — what would you build differently?
