Building IoTMag: An IoT Device Management and Control Platform

I've been working on IoTMag, a backend-focused project designed to explore how IoT devices can be registered, monitored, and managed through a centralized platform.

The goal is to build a foundation for managing connected devices and understanding the backend systems that support IoT applications.

 What is IoTMag?

IoTMag is an IoT device management platform that provides APIs for device registration, verification, telemetry ingestion, and device monitoring.

Instead of treating each IoT device as an isolated system, the project explores how devices can communicate with a centralized backend.

 Tech Stack

Backend: Django

Database: PostgreSQL

Containerization: Docker

Communication: REST APIs

 Key Features

Device registration and verification

Device heartbeat and status monitoring

Telemetry and device health data ingestion

API-based device management

Docker-based application deployment

 Working

 What's Next?

The roadmap includes improvements to telemetry visualization, structured logging, MQTT integration, MCP support, and log export capabilities.

These are planned enhancements, not features currently claimed as complete.

Project Links : GitHub Repository

IoTMag is a learning project that I'm continuing to improve as I explore IoT infrastructure, backend engineering, and device management.

I'd appreciate feedback and suggestions from developers working with Django, IoT, and backend systems.
