The principle is based on constant exchange with people who don't know each other but are like-minded. Because through live streaming it is possible to get other perspectives on your lines of code. This is a big advantage when you can't see the forest for the trees.

According to the motto "You have problems with your Python code and don't know what to do? From now on, experienced developers are available to you directly via Livecam." a very cool tool for the open source market has now been created.

Furthermore, you have the chance to look over the shoulders of others and learn a few tricks here and there. Everybody also gets the chance to compare their progress with others.

This is how the Twitch for coders works

Similar to Twitch, on stackstream you will see numerous sessions on various topics. The difference is that stackstream is only about code.
To watch or listen to other sessions, you don't even need an account. Only once you want to be active in the chat or in a stream, you need an account. And that's created within a minute. Once you have an account, you can publish your own content. You also have the possibility to get in contact with other coders via direct message. Because stackstream is very democratic, there is no right or wrong, or inappropriate questions. The goal is to share, learn and help others. If you're lucky, you'll even get to meet and interact with recognized IT industry leaders in a live stream.
The cool thing is, stackstream is constantly being developed upon user request. The product grows with the community, because now you and even yours truly have the opportunity to directly contribute to the development of new features.

Google was yesterday. stackstream is today.

So, do you want to sit around alone in front of your computer all your life? What's the point of googling problems and getting non-specific answers that only approximate your problem? I would have saved myself a gray hair or two

I wish there had been something like stackstream much earlier. I might have had one less bead of sweat by just quickly starting a webcam session. You can instantly connect with an expert streamer who can give you instant, no-obligation advice, and you can even write your lines of code together and learn as you go. How cool is that? The secret weapon for bad days and thinking blocks.

Wenn der Stresspegel beim Coden steigt

Stell dir folgendes vor: Dein:e Chef:in möchte, dass du ein neues Feature umsetzt. Du bist neu in der Firma und hast dich noch nicht wirklich in den Quellcode und die internen Abläufe eingearbeitet. Du sitzt nun mit einem Fragezeichen vor der Stirn im Büro deiner neuen Kolleg:innen. Die Verzweiflung lässt du dir nicht anmerken, da du beweisen willst, dass du deinen Job gut machst. Dir kommt partout keine Lösung in den Sinn, du willst aber unbedingt einen guten ersten Eindruck hinterlassen. Deine Blicke wandern abwechselnd zur Uhr und wieder zurück auf den Bildschirm mit den 30 Tabs, die du, weil du gut vorbereitet sein willst, natürlich auch alle brauchst, um ein gutes Ergebnis zu erzielen. Deine Motivation ist hoch, noch. Doch nun ist schon wieder Feierabend - inzwischen auch schon der dritte und vierte in Folge und du bist immer noch bei der Vorbereitung. Dein nächster Plan ist es, eine Kollegin oder einen Kollegen um Hilfe zu bitten, aber Stopp!

Lass dir von anderen Coder:innen helfen

stackstream, schon mal davon gehört?
Das ist eine Live Streaming Plattform für Coder:innen. Ein Ökosystem bestehend aus Techies, die voneinander lernen wollen und sich gegenseitig unterstützen. Die Plattform ist für diejenigen, die schnell eine Antwort auf komplexe Coding Fragen haben wollen und nicht lange dafür in einem Tutorial oder einem Dokument herum skippen möchten. Im Gegensatz zu stackoverflow, wo du dein technisches Problem der dort vorhandenen (riesigen) Community beschreibst und auf Antwort hoffst, kannst du auf stackstream einen Room öffnen und wirst live mit Entwickler:innen zusammengebracht, die dir helfen. Die Antworten sind interaktiv, du kann Fragen stellen, lernst und veränderst dein Mindset. Im Zeichen des Open Source Gedankens tust du gleiches für Fragestellende.

Open Source 2.0

Aus eigener Erfahrung weiß ich, wie wichtig es ist, schnellstmöglich Antworten zu technischen Problemen zu erhalten. Man sitzt vor einem komplizierten Quellcode und weiß einfach nicht weiter. Meist sind es ja wirklich nur kleine Dinge, die einem das Kopfzerbrechen bereiten. Entweder benutze ich Google oder ich beschreibe meine Fragen direkt in einem dafür vorgesehenen Forum, und hoffe auf baldige und qualifizierte Antwort.
Da dies Prozesse sind, die endlos nervig und zeitraubend sein können, schafft stackstream wesentlich effizienter und gleichzeitig interaktiv Abhilfe. Das Prinzip baut auf stetigem Austausch mit Leuten auf, die sich nicht kennen, aber trotzdem Gleichgesinnte sind. Denn durch das Live Streaming ist es möglich, auch andere Sichtweisen auf deine Codezeilen zu bekommen. Ein großer Vorteil, wenn man mal wieder den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht sieht.
Nach dem Motto

ist nun ein ganz cooles Tool für den Open Source Markt entstanden.
Desweiteren hat man die Chance, anderen über die Schulter zu gucken und sich hier und da ein paar Tricks abzuschauen und anzueignen. Jede:r bekommt nun auch die Chance, ihren oder seinen Fortschritt mit anderen zu vergleichen.

So funktioniert das Twitch für Coder

Ähnlich wie bei Twitch wirst du auf stackstream zahlreiche Sessions zu verschiedenen Themen sehen. Mit der Unterscheidung, dass es bei stackstream nur um Code geht.
Um andere Sessions zu sehen oder hören, brauchst du nicht mal einen Account. Erst wenn du selbst im Chat oder einem Stream aktiv werden möchtest, brauchst du einen Account. Und der ist in einer Minute erstellt. Sobald du einen Account hast, hast du die Möglichkeit, deinen eigenen Content zu publizieren. Du hast auch die Möglichkeit, direkt mit anderen Coder:innen per Direktnachricht in Kontakt zu kommen. Dadurch, dass stackstream sehr demokratisch läuft, gibt es kein richtig oder falsch, oder unpassende Fragen. Das Ziel ist Austausch, lernen und anderen zu helfen. Mit Glück wirst du sogar anerkannte Größen der IT Branche treffen und kannst dich im Live Stream mit diesen austauschen.
Das Coole ist, stackstream wird auf Anfrage von Usern stetig weiterentwickelt. Das Produkt wächst mit der Community, denn nun haben auch du und sogar meine Wenigkeit die Möglichkeit, direkt bei der Entwicklung neuer Features mitzuwirken.

Also, willst du dein Leben lang alleine vor deinem Computer herumsitzen? Was bringt es dir, Probleme zu googlen und unspezifische Antworten zu bekommen, die nur annäherungsweise zu deinem Problem passen? Google hin oder her, aber was ist, wenn du dich bei stackstream einloggen und sofort eine Antwort bekommen kannst, die wesentlich zufriedenstellender ist? Und mit Leuten aus deiner Branche direkt von Angesicht zu Angesicht in Kontakt kommst?

Das eine oder andere graue Haar hätte ich mir erspart

Ich wünschte, es hätte so etwas wie stackstream wesentlich früher gegeben. Ich hätte mir die ein oder andere Schweißperle erspart, indem ich einfach mal schnell eine Webcam Session gestartet hätte. Du kannst sofort mit einem fachlich versierten Streamer in Verbindung kommen, der dir sofort und unverbindlich mit Rat und Tat zur Seite steht, mit dem du sogar gemeinsam deine Codezeilen schreiben und dabei lernen kannst. Wie cool ist das bitte? Die Geheimwaffe für schlechte Tage und Denkblockaden.

Mich hat das ganze so beeindruckt, dass ich hier meine Tage als Verfasser von Blog Artikeln verbringe und sogar aktiv bei der Gestaltung von stackstream mitwirke. Ich hoffe, dich hat dieser Blogeintrag inspiriert und hilft dir bei künftigen Coding Herausforderungen!
