Mon, 11 May 2026 09:18:46 +0000 https://dev.to/stelladecoro/how-i-used-ai-tools-to-improve-a-woocommerce-web-shop-43h3 https://dev.to/stelladecoro/how-i-used-ai-tools-to-improve-a-woocommerce-web-shop-43h3 <p>Over the last period, I worked on improving and redesigning a WooCommerce-based web shop.</p> <p>The main goal was not only to change the visual appearance, but also to make the website easier to use, faster to navigate, and better structured for visitors.</p> <p>One of the projects I worked on was Ecigareta.hr:</p> <p><a href="https://ecigareta.hr/" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://ecigareta.hr/</a></p> <p>During the redesign process, I used AI tools to help with planning, content structure, SEO ideas, internal linking, and testing different plugin-related decisions.</p> <p>Some of the areas I focused on included:</p> <ul> <li>improving category structure</li> <li>checking how users move through the website</li> <li>writing clearer informational content</li> <li>improving internal links between pages</li> <li>testing WooCommerce and WordPress plugins</li> <li>reviewing page speed and user experience</li> <li>organizing blog content for long-term SEO</li> </ul> <p>AI was useful as an assistant, but not as a replacement for manual work. Every decision still needed to be checked directly inside WordPress, WooCommerce, Elementor, Rank Math, and the live website.</p> <p>One important lesson was that a modern web shop is not only about design. It also needs clear navigation, useful content, good technical structure, and a simple buying flow.</p> <p>For future improvements, I plan to continue working on:</p> <ul> <li>better category descriptions</li> <li>more educational blog content</li> <li>cleaner internal linking</li> <li>improved product page structure</li> <li>better mobile experience</li> <li>stronger technical SEO</li> </ul> <p>This project showed me how AI can help speed up web development and SEO planning, especially when combined with hands-on testing and real website data.</p> <p>Note: The linked website contains information intended for adults only.</p> webdev wordpress woocommerce ai
