Watching your iPhone photos in 3D on any VR headset, with no uploads or cables

Most people with a Quest, Pico or Vision Pro hit the same wall: the photos and videos you actually care about live on your iPhone, and getting them onto the headset in 3D means converters, cloud uploads, USB cables and renaming files to _sbs.

StereoShift is an iPhone, iPad and Mac app that tries to make that one flow: make the 3D version on the phone, then watch it on the headset.

 1. Make it 3D

AI 2D to 3D. An on-device depth model (Apple Neural Engine, fully offline) turns ordinary photos and videos into side-by-side (SBS) 3D. You can adjust the 3D strength, and videos keep their original audio.

Spatial to SBS. iPhone Spatial photos and videos get split into left and right views, so they play on Quest, Pico, XREAL or any SBS player, not just Vision Pro.

Stereo Camera. Take a left photo, slide the phone about 6.4 cm to the right without turning it, take the right photo, and the app merges them into a real-depth 3D photo. That's handy on older iPhones and the iPhone Duo, which can't shoot Spatial. It works best for still scenes 2 m or more away.

 2. Watch it on the headset

This is the part I like most. StereoShift has a built-in Web Share server: it hosts a private, PIN-protected gallery on your local Wi-Fi (or the iPhone's own hotspot). Open the address in the headset's browser, tap a thumbnail and hit Enter VR, and you're watching in stereo. Nothing is uploaded anywhere and no files are copied.

 Details

iPhone, iPad, Apple Silicon Mac and Vision Pro, iOS 17+

Everything runs on-device, with no account and no data collected

Free with optional in-app purchases ($1.99/week or $9.99 lifetime)

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6759077023?ct=dv_en_new261024&mt=8

Happy to answer questions about the depth model, the WebXR viewer or the stereo capture in the comments.
