Skills Tests... The Truth?

Triplebyte is a company built to help you grow yourself. Colleagues of mine have struggled to become front-end developer's due to miss taught guidance from senior developers. Stop getting the wrong information from untrusted advice and find your new career as a developer with help from professionals.

Learning to grow yourself as a developer takes time and patience. Many individuals look for mentors and senior developers to show them the ropes. As many skills are necessary to become a developer. Learning to grow as an individual developer can bring excitement and joy as you progress your career within the field of programming.

Have you found a group of solid developers you'd like to learn and grow with?

Try a test from Triplebyte and take your programming skills to the next level.

Avoid unemployment by taking test's from the beginning and getting started with a company that actually believes candidates deserve a consistent experience and hiring decisions should be made using a clear scoring system.

These test's sole purpose is to approach hiring and interviewing on a level playing field. Grow your own abilities and get what you deserve as a programmer by using these tests to your own advantage.

When Wordpress isn't the right choice? Developers Perspective

How you go about building a website is a developer's task. Every project has use cases, and to be able to solve your clients needs and wants, you may choose Wordpress as your first and only option.

Wordpress offers, support, community and plugins, code and many more assets which will get you up and running quickly meaning happy clients and happy profits.

However you may see it, as a developer I don't often recommend Wordpress.

You may think this is a crazy thought, writing code from scratch on behalf of my clients gives me more control and better results in the end for them.

If you build with today's modern technology stacks the output will be great than the overall input, which will in return provide for your clients.

As a developer I say push your limits, don't rely on templates to produce results for your clients. Always be creating and of course don't stop developing.

Running Docker on Digital Ocean Droplets

Have you been thinking of moving to docker for some devOps work? Try setting up a containerized Website with the help of docker and portainer. Use some of the latest 2018 developer tools to get the must customization out of your website.

Firstly, you will need to setup your droplet at Digital Ocean. Use this link to get a free $10 dollars. Once you have chosen a droplet location, select your droplet size. Recommended size is at least $20 per month. Once you have your ip address and successfully started running your droplet.

Navigate to your Portainer and grab the latest copy using their docker setup.

Secondly, ensure you have docker installed on your droplet. Use the lastest docker install and make sure to update your system via "apt-get" command.

Run your setup of portainer in an open port via:

$ docker run -d -p 9000:9000 --restart always -v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock -v /opt/portainer:/data portainer/portainer

Congratulations! This command will setup your containerized environment and will get you started running websites in containers with the help of portainer.

Remember to keep your Portainer ports Open and running within your droplet or you will not be able to access your portainer dashboard.

Cheers! Happy Devs, for Days!

First-time experience with Digital Ocean from Shared Hosting Environment

Starting a server has never been easier until now with the days of cloud computing on the horizon. Finding a need to push more performance for better price, shared hosting may be left behind or will it?

After purchasing a domain name and moving along the commonly followed steps in any hosting service like Host Gator, GoDaddy or Bluehost an average user (Developer) can get a server running within a day. Digital Ocean allows a user to setup a carefully selected instance in less than ten minutes.

In Developer talk (Jargon), "AWS" is shorten for Amazon Web Services and many developers refer to Digital Ocean as "DO". DO interacts with AWS to spin up your DO instances!

DO provides you with great security features. You are asked to immediately
reset your password and setup two-authentication to secure your account. Not only this, you can even connect to google's recently added "Google Authenticator" application for an additional level of security.

Normal firewall settings are found within the profile and can be highly configured for your needs. The overall dashboard experience runs laps around many of the traditional shared hosting sites that are in need of some serious design overhauls. Wink Wink, Hit me up if you want to discuss design suggestions...

Speaking of design, an interesting feature not commonly seen within most shared hosts was DO's metrics section. A great feature for performance buffs. Many sites like Hostgator or goDaddy have pre-installed packages that are one-click setups but you may not have the level of control over the operating system or barebone setup like you do with Digital Ocean.

Creating a truly dreamy setup as a developer is no longer a fantasy. Users of all kinds can enjoy the level of simplicity and advanced features Digital Ocean has to offer.

With that I recommend moving to toward a cloud computing world with us. Give it a go with a Free $10, my treat! Hope you enjoyed this review!

FREE $10
