Introduction

Glasp is a free social web highlighter. Glasp allows users to take notes and highlight resourceful web contents without necessarily leaving the web page.
With the AI summary feature, users can grasp hidden insights that they haven't figured out.

Glasp enables users to learn difficult concerts from the notes and highlights of link-minded persons who have read through the same content. These highlights can then be tagged, searched for, linked to, and shared on a variety of other platforms, including Twitter, Teams, and Slack.

 What is Glasp?

Glasp, short for Greatest Legacy Accumulated as Shared Proof, is an essential tool for readers and writers who want to keep track of ideas as they go through the content. Glasp was launched on June 1, 2021 by Kazuki Nakayashiki as the CEO/CTO of the organization. The free browser extension-based social web tool is aimed at eliminating learning in isolation, thereby leaving your footprints of legacy for everyone.

Glasp eliminates the use of traditional copy and paste of resourceful contents on a web page to a personal note page. Highlighted contents which are automatically assembled on your Glasp homepage for review, and easy access which can be shared with everyone.

 Why Glasp?

Humans tend to learn quickly when they interact with others. Glasp is a free social web highlighter that provides a community of like-minded individuals to learn from. This community breaks down difficult concerts through highlighted contents and notes shared with others.

Glasp gives everyone the opportunity to be both a teacher, and a student. Professionals in different fields are able to reach a large audience through their shared resources, ideas and in depth knowledge about a subject matter.

 Glasp’s Unique Features

Glasp does not just highlight your content on the web, but offers some outstanding features that make it unique. Now let's quickly look at what differentiates Glasp.

 Glasp AI Summary

This is a very powerful tool introduced by Glasp. With users highlighted on a web page, the AI summary feature enables users to grasp hidden insights that they haven't figured out. Making difficult concerts a lot easier and faster to learn.

 Visibility of Highlights and Notes

Glaps allows users to learn publicly , as every highlight and notes are made available to everyone on Glaps, thereby linking like-minds together as they share their insights.

 Import and export options

The importance of note taking or highlights is to have them handy for use at any given time or place. Glasp allows users to import their notes from Kindle Cloud Reader. Notes imported are not shared publicly.
Glasp uses a .txt, .md, .csv, .html, and .png file formats to export users highlights and notes taken.

 Social Community

Glasp imitates other social media apps. Here users are allowed to follow individuals based on their interest or likes, and at the sametime can be followed by others. Users get feeds from like-minded persons the follow, what they highlighted and notes taken.
There is also a Community page that you can access using the Explore tab. This takes you to a page where you can discover content based on tags or from authors and websites.

 Save for Later Used.

Like every other learning app, Glasp allows users to save notes and articles highlighted by other individuals for later use. This unique feature gives users the flexibility not to miss anything they find their interest in. All saved notes and articles highlighted can be viewed on My Highlights, under Saved.

 Introduction

A web browser is a software program that enables users to access websites. When a user makes a request for a webpage on a website, the browser retrieves the content and displays it to the end user. Web browsers or browsers are used on many devices, ranging from desktop personal computers, tablets, and smartphones.
Communication technologies have been reshaped due to the transformation of mobile phones to smartphones. Many websites are now customized to display on smartphones, for easy access.

 What is Google Chrome?

Google Chrome is a free browser. It was built by Google for accessing the internet and running web-based applications. Chrome can be used in Windows, Mac and Linus operating systems, likewise Android and iOS mobiles.
On February 7, 2012, Google launched Google Chrome Beta for Android 4.0 devices. On many new devices with Android 4.1 and later preinstalled. Chrome is the default browser for many Android phones. Google Chrome is based on the open source project Chromium but Chrome is licensed as proprietary freeware.
Chrome is also known for its cross platform synchronization, where users can have access to their history, bookmarks, and payment cards saved in Chrome when they use Chrome in mobile and personal computers.

 Why Google Chrome?

There are a lot of web browsers with unique features, but Google stands out due to the factors discussed below.

 Clean, Simple User Interface

Google Chrome has done away with many of the traditional context menus, settings options, and bookmark layouts. They have given users a genuinely fresh experience when surfing the web. You can rest assured when using Chrome that doing what you want with it is quick because you do not have to jump through hoops to get where you want to go. The clean interface makes that possible.

 Searching From Address Bar

Google Chrome is the first web browser to introduce "Omnibar or Omnibox" where the address bar and search box serve as one. This concert was later implemented in other web browsers. For example,in the old browsers, you first visit the search engine by entering the address of the search engine you intend to use( example, google.com), before performing a search.

Tap and hold to search highlighted text

This feature allows users to highlight any text on a webpage, tap and hold it and perform a Google search without copying the text to the search box. This gives users more flexibility in search results.

 Password protection

Chrome stores and protects user passwords.Users login credentials are autofill by using the autofill feature and monitors whether any have been exposed in data breaches. With this feature the user is not required to remember all passwords for every login details. The password manager is one the tabs in the Basic Settings that manages all your login credentials.

 Incognito mode

Incognito mode is also known as private browsing. This is a browsing mode where the data filled in forms, browsing history, credentials, cookies, and sites visited are deleted from your device once the session is ended. Incognito mode protects your device and privacy.

 Syncing across devices

This is turned on in the settings. This allows users to access their passwords, bookmarks, payment information and Gmail account on any device.
