Major Highlights of C.A.L.M. Spaces
Since February 2025, C.A.L.M. Spaces has carried out a wide range of meaningful events across the university. These efforts show that the initiative is not just an idea on paper, it is an active, responsive, and growing wellbeing community that meets students where they are.

One of the core areas of work has been their direct student support. This includes Learning Support Group Sessions, Change Management Sessions, Arts based Stress Management sessions titled Colour the Chaos, Hostel Support Group Sessions, Individual Counselling Sessions, and a North East Support Group Session. These sessions have created spaces where students can express themselves, reflect on their challenges, and receive support that is both practical and empathetic.

The scale of their work is significant. There were 8 Learning Support Group Sessions with around 80+ participants, 28 Change Management Sessions reaching about 2,000+ students, and 6 Stress Management Sessions engaging around 629+ participants. In addition, 72 Hostel Support Group Sessions were conducted, supporting 110+ hostel students, while 1,498 individual counselling sessions were provided to 393 diverse students. These numbers reflect steady and consistent engagement with real student needs.

C.A.L.M. Spaces has also invested deeply in peer support. The Campus Peer Listeners Program, CALM Companions, was developed and implemented with rigorous training, supervision sessions over 5 days followed by 3 months of field training under supervision. Alongside this, one-on-one peer listener supervision and Peer PODS were created and mentored by the Calm Spaces team of psychologists. This peer-based model is important because students often feel more comfortable opening up to someone who understands their daily experiences closely, training of 37 students who were selected after an intense screening to be a peer listener from a cohort of 200+ entries. Out of which 22 students were qualified and are currently working actively on the ground.

Training and internal strengthening have been another major part of the initiative. The team also conducts regular internal trainings, focusing on Excel, supervision, and case work for wellbeing interns - helping maintain consistency and professional care in the support offered. While also ensuring there is support and supervision circles as needed for their internal team too. The team has also supervised 40+ peer listener-related interactions, and carried out 10 Peer PODS sessions. These behind-the-scenes efforts matter because strong student support depends on a strong, trained, and thoughtful team.

The initiative has also taken active steps in awareness and outreach. The CALM wellbeing series of awareness, promotion, and student support included 4 sessions with around 800+ participants. Outreach programs, support groups and team-building sessions for clubs and departments, and the WhatsApp channel further extended the reach of the unit across campus. The WhatsApp channel alone reached 1,100+ students and became an important communication bridge between the team and the wider student community.

Another major initiative to make this holistic well-being unit last has been the digital development. C.A.L.M Spaces worked on student app development in collaboration with SOET and SBSC, with the support of the core team. The app is developed by a small but dedicated team. The initiative also launched its Mobile App in SYNERGY 2025, and beta tested over 2 days with more than 200 participants, The C.A.L.M. Spaces mobile app registrations were launched in May 2026 with 100 registrations.
