Rethinking Goals for the New Year

New year, new resolutions, new goals… but are they really necessary?

The new year is usually seen as a fresh start. Honestly, I’m a bit tired of that idea. Over the past few days, I’ve been thinking about what the new year really means to me. We’re often told we need to set 12 goals, but what if you only have one? Or what if your goals don’t look like the “typical” ones, such as traveling, buying things, or losing weight?

When I thought about my own goals, I realized something important: I don’t need to be afraid if I don’t have big goals this year. In the past, I focused too much on completing many goals, and by the end of the year I felt frustrated because I didn’t achieve all of them. This year, I want to let go of that pressure. Of course, I still have goals, but I’m approaching them differently.

I’ve learned that consistency itself is an achievement. Showing up every day matters, especially in simple but important areas of life, like:

going to the gym

eating healthy

sleeping well

going to therapy

working less

staying connected with friends and creating new memories

This year feels different to me. I don’t want a long list of goals. If I complete one, I’ll add another. For now, one is more than enough.

Let’s see what happens. If you don’t have a goal for 2026, don’t worry. Life isn’t easy, and we’re all doing the best we can—and that is enough. But if you feel you need a bit of direction, I recommend the YearCompass. This framework helped me say goodbye to 2025 with gratitude and write down what I truly want for 2026.

I hope this reflection helps you
Happy 2026!

My Career Pivot From Freelance to Employee

Hi, it’s me again — I’m happy to share some news with you! 💁

For three and a half years, I was a freelancer. It was a time when I learned a lot and worked on many different kinds of projects. I did everything from web design to brand design and more. I got to develop a lot of skills, which I enjoyed, and for a long time, I felt good about my work.

Why I Needed a Change?
But in the last few months, things changed. I didn’t feel good anymore. The main problem was that I didn’t get to do much product design. I felt a bit lost in my career, thinking, “I’m not really a product designer.” It became hard to enjoy my job, and every day felt difficult. My growing frustration with the kind of design work I was doing was the main reason I decided to stop freelancing and join a company.

My New Role: Product Designer in B2B
Today, I feel much better. I am now a Product Designer at a company that makes software for the supply chain. We help other companies look at their data and use AI to make the best decisions for their business. This is a big new challenge for me because I always used to work in the B2C (Business-to-Consumer) world, but now I’m working in B2B (Business-to-Business). It’s a great chance to learn and gain experience as a product designer.

Learning to Work with a Team
Now, I get to focus on designing products as part of a team. This is a challenge because when you work by yourself for a long time, it’s hard to switch to working with a team. Right now, I am putting all my energy into learning about my teammates, understanding everything about the company, and truly knowing our users.

How My Approach to Product Has Changed (and Why I No Longer Start in Figma)

Hey, it’s me again… it’s been a long time since I posted here. Today I have a spicy topic: AI in Product Design.

Is AI going to take our jobs?

Today, I wanted to share with you how I use AI in my design process, and how I am using Claude and Lovable.

In the past few months, I’ve been working on some product projects, and I included Claude and Lovable in my design process.

My design process changed in a good way. I decided to start designing projects with Claude before I jump into Figma. Using Claude and Lovable helps me improve faster and create different designs, concepts, and flows.

It’s not just the interface or layout; with Claude, I am able to prototype the behavior.

Some Benefits:

Reduce the risks before spending days or weeks designing the UI.

Allow teams to be involved in early stages.

Create new ideas or experiments and turn them into tangible concepts.

How I Use Claude:

I use it as a first step to create new solutions and proposals. For example, I design some ideas for landing pages and dashboards.

Claude is useful for:

Organizing ideas, and generating variations and flows.

Creating wireframes or a navigation structure.

How I Use Lovable:

I use Lovable when I need a high-fidelity or final project. This means when I need a design that is closer to the final product or can even be the final design itself.

For me, Lovable is what can replace Figma for the design of functional applications.

And no, it’s not about stopping the use of Figma (it's still an incredible tool), but rather about integrating other ways of thinking and developing ideas before moving to the final interface

In one day, I can have a prototype for the team without spending a lot of time designing screens on Figma.

Sign up and redeem your free credits!

Is AI going to take our jobs?

This is the question I see every day on LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms. Nowadays, there are many AI design tools. The important part is that as designers, we can include these tools in our design process, but they do not replace our knowledge.

AI does not replace our criteria, empathy, and business comprehension.

For example, I designed a dashboard in Claude and noticed that some components and behaviors were not what we needed for our users. My criteria are so important in these kinds of decisions.

As designers, we should be:

Critical of what we generate.

Curious to explore new tools.

Aware of the problem we are solving.

Because you can have a thousand prototypes ready, but if they don't solve anything real, they are of little use.

Do you use any AI tools in your design process?

*About me *

Hello! I'm Gabriela, a product designer with over five years of experience working with startups in Latin America.

I'm passionate about product design and am also an AI enthusiast. If you have any recommendations for design tools, please feel free to share them!

From Resolutions to Results: Achieving Your 2025 Vision✨

The New Year always brings fresh energy—new resolutions, new challenges, and a sense of hope. January arrives with a smile, a renewed spirit, and the perfect time to define our goals for the year ahead.

In my personal and professional life, I’ve been using two tools: The Wellness Wheel and Year Compass. These frameworks have helped me decide which areas of my life I want to improve. I like the idea of “life areas” because they include more than just work—family, friends, health, recreation, and other important parts of life are included too.

Over the past few days, I’ve been working on my goals. Using The Wellness Wheel, I identified the areas I want to focus on, like health and recreation, and made a plan to work on them.

Here are some tips to help you define and reach your goals this year:

1. Define only 1-3 Goals

Why just three? From my experience, having more than three makes it easy to lose focus. Fewer goals mean more clarity and better results.

2. Make a plan

Writing a list of wishes is easy, but how do you make them happen? Start by creating a plan that is flexible. If your plan is too strict, you might lose motivation after a few days or weeks.

If you don’t know how to create a plan, try using AI tools.

How?
Write a detailed prompt about your goal, including your timeline, key steps, and resources. The AI can give you a guide to get started. Remember, though, it’s up to you to put in the work!

3. Track your progress

It’s important to track how you’re doing. While there are many apps for this, I’ve found that sometimes they take too much time to set up and learn. Instead, try something simple, like a notebook, a sticky note on the wall, or a board.

4. Celebrate your steps

Big or small, every achievement matters. Celebrate each one, and try to enjoy the process, even if there are ups and downs. If you miss a day or two, don’t be too hard on yourself—just keep going!

Final thoughts

I hope you achieve your goals in 2025! Remember, there’s no magic formula or secret recipe. Just take one step at a time and stay focused.

Let’s make 2025 amazing—let’s go! ✨

Happy New Year!

My new freelance era!

In 2022 I lost my full time job as some of you know, if you don't know what I am talking about you can read the story here.
For 6 months I looked for a full time job, I was obsessed with the idea of working in a company. I had a lot of interviews, I did some UX challenges but I didn’t get an offer. Back then I felt that I didn't have enough for UX / Product designer roles, my self-esteem was down.

Well, in 2023 I decided that I don’t wait for the “call”, for the opportunity, for the validation. I say validation because in my journey looking for a job I learned that I just wait for validation from someone to tell me “You are good, You have impressive experience” . It never happened.

I decided to start my journey as a freelancer. To be honest at the time I didn't know how to start, how to contact clients, how to start to sell my services, how much they cost… In this first phase I did some projects for web and apps. I felt stuck hahaha in the last 6 months I hadn’t designed or used Figma. At the beginning I felt a bit lost.

In 2023 I worked on different projects and I had many challenges in my career. In this post I want to share some learnings from my freelancer phase, or what swifties would call my new freelancer era.

1. Being a freelancer is as valuable as working in a company.
As a freelancer everyday I have many challenges and I need to move very fast because time is money! My work is not just designing…It includes many other activities such as: looking at new projects, marketing on social media, customer support, taxes, learning new technologies or tools etc.It is important to be an organized person because as a freelancer we handle many activities at the same time.

2. Don't give more to a company that is not yours.

I know it is a cliche, but it is true … in my last job I worked a lot, too much… and at the end I got fired, I didn't get equity or anything related. I regretted putting so much effort into something that I wasn’t mine. Now, every day I keep in my mind this is my project, my own company, I am my own company. If I spend the weekend or I sleep late it’s worth it.

3. Taxes

UUUHHH, specifically in Mexico many of us are afraid of them ,but it is not bad at all. I remember that in the past I didn't want to work as a freelancer because I didn't want to handle the taxes, bills, etc. I learned a lot of them and how to do my invoices and pay my taxes every month. I recommend that if you don’t know anything about taxes in Mexico, you need to look for an accountant. I have mine 🙂

4. Start now

We don’t need a lot of technology or equipment. When I started work as a freelancer I just had my laptop, phone, internet, my google account, Notion and WhatsApp.
I didn’t have a website or logo. Don’t spend your time on these at the beginning. I am not afraid of them, just time is money and it’s more important to get clients than to have a cool website.

At the beginning I started with the following things:
In my own journey I started with a Notion page (I already used it for my personal things) I knew how to use it, I didn’t need to spend time learning something new. I made some images on Canva and I started to publish them on my social media. I was contacting clients from my personal number (it’s not the best way) but I couldn’t buy a new phone. I used a lot of Google Drive tools.

After 1.5 years I have my site (still in progress) https://supergabs.com/ I am happy with it, because I did it!
Available in Spanish Only

5. Schedule

Some people think that freelancers work every day, all day… I have bad news. We don't have a schedule like any employee. In my case I finish my work day at 6:00 pm, which is the normal time in Mexico. I try not to respond to any messages from clients after this time. It's Important to set our schedule for work and personal life.

Working as a freelancer requires bravery, resilience, autonomy and many more qualities! Being a freelancer helps me with my own perspective of my job, my own experience, and learning that I am capable of doing that thing I imagine!

If you got here I invite you to check my experience work:

https://dribbble.com/supeergabs

https://read.cv/supeergabs

How I did realize that I was living in a patriarchal system?

When I think of a topic to write I have many ideas such as UX, women in technology, and anecdotes, but I know women live in patriarchal systems and I want to share how I realized I was living in a patriarchal system. Why? We have normalized patterns of behavior through culture.

Before I begin, I will give the context of my family. They are from a town in Jalisco, Mexico. We live in a small town outside the city where I lived for 25 years. In my childhood, every Sunday, we went to my grandfather's house to make barbecue or traditional Mexican dishes. I started to always see the first to eat were the men. During this period of time I thought “This is ok, women want more time to eat and chat”. I never thought this behavior was bad.

In my 20’s I started to learn about women's communities. The first community I found was TechWo.
I always followed its social media, but I didn’t go to the events. One day I was sure I wanted to meet these women and I registered for the event.
The event daaay!! I was still not sure if I should go. I told my father about the event. He didn't understand. At the time I was ready, my father said the phrase that changed my reality and my beliefs:
“Don't go, it's better to stay home to clean up”. At this moment, my head went BOOOOOM! What? Cleaning is better than learning? I ignored the comment and I left.

Since that day, I knew I lived in a patriarchal system. Men (not all) see women as housekeepers or people who should only do activities at home, and they want to dictate how women should act. This led me to know in my life that I suffered and lived in a world of machismo, but the system says it is the right way to be.

Today, I know that I can't change my family and their beliefs, but I can stop allowing myself to be the last one to eat or who is in charge of the cleaning.

Photo from event

Conclusions:

Women are capable of doing anything, that is why I invite you to question your beliefs and behavior. This is the only way we can resist patriarchy. The next time your family or the system tells you that you shouldn't do something, ask why.

I embrace you all, together we can!

I lost my job, I am depressed.

On June 30 I lost my job. I couldn’t understand what happened.

As you know, I loved my job and I really enjoyed being part of the startup. I joined in 2020. I worked there for 2 years. I spent a lot of time working there, and I learned so much. Well, my status passed to unemployed. In the beginning I felt fine because I was exhausted. I had burnout. In the last months, my body was very tired.

I overslept for months, I didn’t go out, I didn’t talk with my parents and friends.
I was sad, and I felt humiliated because I didn’t know how to explain to my family that I lost my job. It was a failure for myself. But, one day, I decided to call my mom and tell her the situation. My family supported me, but they didn’t understand what happened, and they asked me “What are you doing now? I was like, I have no idea.

Then, I started looking for a new job. It was hard for me. I hadn’t done interviews in the past two years. With help from some friends, I started with my CV and I made a basic portfolio. Special thanks to Caro La Reclu IT because she was the first person to help me in this process.

Well, I began with interviews and I noticed my abilities and knowledge were not enough for the market. I improved myself and the way I took the interviews. I applied to many companies.I had the first and second interviews, but I didn’t continue in the process. That made me feel inadequate.

One day I saw this screenshot. I made it when I was practicing an English interview. At this moment I saw myself sad, tired, frustrated and depressed. I accept that I was depressed because I lost my job. It was a huge part of my day. I couldn’t see my team. I missed my daily routine.

Sometimes for me, it is impossible to wake up. In the last few months, my psychiatric treatment has changed every month, because I need energy to do my activities. My chairs have tons of clothes because I don’t have energy to organize. I’m trying to go out with friends and family. I’m trying to cook, not always healthy, but I eat something. I’m trying to play with my pet. She makes me happy.

Not only that, but I’m trying to forget that I lost my job, and I am worthwhile as a person. My heart is still broken. I am not sure when I will feel better. I do what I can to feel good and be happy.

Finally, I learned some key points. It’s ok if I:

Feel sad because I lost my job.

Do nothing because I don’t have energy.

Don’t clean my apartment.

Cry during the day.

Feel lost.

I continue with therapy and my psychiatric treatment. I can do more activities than in the past months. I went to Mexico City on vacation. This helped me to feel better. I’ve started smiling once again.

If you read the whole thing, thank you for your time. I am working to be my best.
Thank you, Technolatinas, friends and mentors that help me in this difficult moment.

A little bit about my career

A few days ago I wanted to write an article about my experience as a UI/UX Designer and then how I got involved in Product Design.

Let’s get cracking!

In 2018, I started my career as a UI/UX Designer in a small consultancy where I had the opportunity to work with a UX Manager. I remember that at this time I didn’t know how to do information architecture. I learned to do it. We designed apps and dashboards 😊

Then I had my first opportunity to work in a startup where I learned the difference between consulting and startup. In this team I collaborated with the Product owner, UI/UX Designers and Developers. Although my experience there was limited, I learned what the key points are to take into account at the moment of designing a product, but I didn’t know what the role of the product designer was.

In my last experience, I worked in a startup that provides online therapy. When I joined them I started as UI/UX Designer.

At the beginning I designed an agenda. I remember this project was big and I took a lot of time to do it. I ran some remote tests with users and I improved the design. At this time I was disorganized. I never completed my deadlines and I felt lost. I recognized that and I started to work on it.

The first thing I [did] was define a template for projects. It helped to me have the information in one place. I use a Shape up template in my own process. 🚀 [check it it out]

And well, every day I worked more in Product Design. I started to understand some key points:

Psychologists: Experience, technical abilities, ages, how to talk with them, etc.

Patients: Who are they? How are old they? What difficulties do they have?

For few months I gave customer service that helped me to understand what problems users have on the platform.

I had the opportunity to manage the product in this startup. Also I collaborated with other teams and together we did a product. 🤘🏻
I think the best ability I developed in this product was to see the entire product as a big picture.

What I do as Product Designer?

I’m thinking, thinking a lot! As a mentioned above Product Designer is more strategic, as much of my day is dedicated to product planning, doing roadmaps, next steps, launches, and evaluating products.

At the beginning of each project I started with a plan. In other words, a general document of the project which anyone can consult.

What is the plan?
The plan helps us to describe user needs and how we will satisfy their needs. Sometimes designers think it is not necessary to do it, but If you have a plan you save time in the future.

In this document I describe the following:

Articulate vision

Conduct user research

Write product requirements document (PRD)

Write critical user journeys (CUJ)

Establish service level objective

Draft landing metrics

Write design docs

Create schedules and plans

Test using prototypes

In this phase I add deliverables such as customer journey, user personas, insights, research plan, etc. Additionally I like to add pages for the rest of the resources such as: content, images, planning, etc.

Develop and test

Create development schedules

Document dependencies

Make mockups

Do instrument tests

Plan integrations

Start product evaluation

Start approvals (security, privacy, legal, etc.)

Run documentation usability studies

In this phase I add deliverables such as mockups, diagrams, wireflows, usability test.

Launch & land

Get approvals, do gradual rollout, and earn happy users.

Launch into alpha, beta, or general availability

Regularly review how customers use the product

Nurture growth and check on adoption goals

Track success metrics

Add and launch new programs or features as needed

As you can see the work of a Product Designer is very broad. Of course, the tasks you will do depend on the project, time and resources.

I want to give advice: In my last experience I worked a lot a lot… for me it was difficult to stop working or delegate a task to someone . Please don’t do that! I had burnout. I learned my mental and physical health is more important than any work.

If you made it to the end, thanks for reading me!

Gabs :)

What I learned about anxiety

Last year I spoke at work about what I've learned about anxiety and I'd like to share with you how I've advanced with this journey of therapy and medication. First of all I want to tell you that I am not a mental health professional and what I share here is my experience and my hacks to survive.

I am also encouraged to do this article because I see that many people say they have anxiety but sometimes it is not true. They use it as a fashion. Having anxiety is horrible.

But let's get right to the point:

3 years ago I started living with roommates. Those who have lived with roommates know that sometimes it is difficult. At that time I tried to have a lot of control over the house cleaning, laundry, organization and so on. There were times when I felt rushed.

And well, then came the pandemic and my desire to control things was even greater, plus the people I lived with were paranoid about COVID-19 and they only talked about how many people died a day. At that time I was already taking therapy and I was getting better, but my fear of going out was increasing, and I was cleaning and disinfecting. I was completely locked up for many months.

 What does anxiety feel like?

Headache

Tingling in hands and body

Despair

Anxiety

Excessive worry

Worry was constant in me and I made small problems very big. Every thing made me desperate, I felt rushed at all times even if there was no one to rush me.

What situations happened?

I cried every day for no reason.

I started having suicidal thoughts.

I had no energy, no energy to do anything.

I began to isolate myself completely, I rarely went out with my friends.

When these situations began to be more recurrent, I understood that what was happening was no longer in my control and that I needed more help. My therapist always told me "If you want I recommend a psychiatrist". I always ignored her, until one day she spoke to me clearly and told me "The episodes will not decrease. On the contrary, they will increase".

How did I make the decision to go to a psychiatrist?

What was happening was no longer in my control. I needed more help.

And since then I started a psychiatric treatment that has allowed me to regulate my thoughts and be better every day. Of course, there are difficult days, while others are great.

During the process I have had a great support network of friends, family, my work team and people from tech communities. Taking care of my mental health has not been easy.

 What has changed?

I stopped participating in events, volunteering and talks. I know that today my mental health needs all my energy and I have to be here for me. Today, Super Gabs can't handle it all, and it's okay to let go.

If you made it to the end of the article, I want to share with you some of the tasks I do to get better.

When I feel overwhelmed by an issue at home, work, payments or some activity that is important I write them in my reminders or in a to-do list in Notion. This allows my mind to be more free.

I love to write. I keep my therapy journal where I write down how I feel. This has helped me a lot because I have identified when a situation bothers me because it is repeating itself in my notes.

Taking therapy.

Following my psychiatric treatment.

Meditating.

Doing activities that make me feel good, such as walking, dancing, listening to music, and cooking.

Finally, I want to tell you that you are not alone. There are thousands of people like us who are struggling to be well. If you need to talk to someone, write to me.

A 🎁

I want to share with you my 50% discount code on your first appointment at terapify.

My first UX course with @CodigoFacilito

Hi! Last year I did my first UX course at Codigo Facilito. In this article I would like to share my experience and the steps I followed. This is not a recipe, it's my experience.

 The audience

The first step I did was to understand who the audience is, of course. How old are they and what do they do? People will attend the course.
This course is for frontend students that are interested in learning user experience and best practices to do frontend. Considering this, I began to design the curriculum.

 Curriculum

I had many ideas in my mind. I was not sure what to teach.
I started to watch some courses from the Codigo Facilito to understand how to speak and to connect the dialogues. I began my course with design concepts and UX elements with the 5 Elements UX of Jesse James Garret. Why five elements? Basically, the five elements are the design process or phases of design whatever you want to say! Then I thought of including a project during the course and each element / phase students can learn and practice.

Before this course, I created a curriculum and I used a table with the following elements:

Module

Class

Objective

Activity or deliverable

Video or document - in the case of classes with video I also marked them

Once I had the syllabus, I reworked it with the Codigo Facilito team and with mentors who helped me understand how to organize the topics and then I continued to the next step.

 Content

The content is the most important part of the course. This step was difficult. I spent many hours making a summary for each class and some images that helped me to explain them.
At this moment, I had the curriculum and content but I needed to know how to explain it to the class. For this reason, I decided to write a script.

 Script

According to Wikipedia, Script is a text that exposes, with the necessary details for its realization, the content of a film, a cartoon, or a radio or television program. In other words, it is a piece of writing that contains the indications of everything that the work requires for its staging.

I was stressed because I didn’t see anything!
This step was the most difficult. I asked myself: “what is the best way to explain and how do you keep people's attention in a video?”
In my case the script was functional to explain the content from introduction and topics to teach. I realized that giving a talk has nothing to do with doing a recorded course.

 Recording

I had never recorded before. I didn’t know what I was doing. I recorded with OBS. At the beginning my laptop did not support the program, so I had to wait for my new M1 MacBook Air to arrive.

My first video test was testing the microphone and light. I was not sure about the scene and lighting. Fortunately in my apartment there was a green wall, so I changed my “studio” to the living room.
Then I started to record. Some of them had a lot of noise, others didn't. Little by little I started to improve them.

 Conclusions:

This was my first course and I was happy to accept this challenge. Sometimes I thought I was not good enough, I didn’t know how to do it. I learned a lot about recording a course, designing a curriculum and how to teach it. I recognized that I needed to learn more and more about UX for other courses.
To finish I just want to thank Uriel for giving me the opportunity in Codigo Facilito.
I hope for future collaborations!

I'm a UX designer currently working at Terapify. Terapify is a video chat platform that easily and securely connects people in need of psychological help with trusted psychologists who share their culture and language.

In the beginning

I graduated in graphic design three years ago. When I was in my last year of college I met friends from programming careers and started learning programming and how it works.
In this time I learned HTML and CSS, and made some pages in visual code. In this period I made some pages with HTML, CSS and Wordpress, but I found that I liked the interaction with the user or how a person uses a website. I left this aside for a while.

My freelance history

I freelanced for about a year and a half. I worked as a graphic designer and did a lot of branding for local clients. I also did some book covers, which I never thought I would do!
I was a headhunter... Really? Sure, I was looking for talent for companies in Mexico and the United States. Basically I was looking for profiles on social networks, collecting CV's. This job was good. I learned more about how outsourcing works and what skills the industry demands. In this period I learned a lot and got to feed myself.

Well, is this article about how I became a UX designer? And where is the story?

In December 2018 I decided to stop freelancing and started looking for a job as a UI/UX Designer. It's important to mention that in my freelancer life I did some website and mobile app projects but I had no professional experience. My skills were basic and I didn't know how to interview.

The interviews!

I applied to many companies in Guadalajara and Mexico City.
The first interview was horrible. It was with a big company based in Mexico City... you know a user-centric company that only gave consulting to UX clients.
In this interview the recruiter was very good. He explained the process and always told the truth. I was not selected for this role but I received good feedback for my skills. I don't remember how many interviews I had. I just remember that in each interview I wrote down my learnings and how I needed to improve.

By the next month, I was tired. I didn't look for a job. I was about to give up.
I had two more interviews and got my first job as a UI/UX designer at a software consulting firm. Yes. This was my first job as a UI/UX designer. I learned a lot from Lucio. He always gave me feedback at the beginning. It was very complicated for me, because I had never worked with other designers before. In my time there I learned how to do information architecture, deliverables, user stories, prototyping, product quality and teamwork.
In my first job I felt like an apprentice. I didn't know many things and my knowledge was basic.

Then I came to the startup world!
Those who have worked in startups understand me; working in a startup is hard, of course depending on the size, but always growing and fast.

I worked in a startup in South America. I had the opportunity to work with people from different countries like Chile, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, United States and Mexico. In this job I learned about how to make a product for many countries and how to work with big clients like finance, retail, health and ecommerce. Although I liked these things, I needed to make a bigger impact on users.

Now I am a UX designer at Terapify, where I understand how the things I do have an impact on many people. I'm not a trainee, I feel more confident with my role and my activities, and I do a lot of things for patients and psychologists. This path was not easy. I learned from others, took courses and made many mistakes, but I try continuously.

Now I know that I change the lives of others and that my work is very important in the start-up.

In conclusion, no matter how scared you are, being a good designer takes time but it is not impossible.
Have a good attitude, be humble, be curious and accept feedback.

This is my first article in English, if you have feedback let me know :-)
