Learning new topics, areas, and stuff takes time and hard work. I know you are ready to put in everything required, but Have you encountered times when you don't recall what you read or learned?

Think of it like a student who has put in all his hard work to learn all the things about the subject before an exam and when he sits in the exam, nothing comes out, and mind goes blank. It has happened to me, and I know you are also the victim of this disease.

But what if I tell you that you can easily recall and understand something efficiently without even needing extra help?

Yes, Cal Newport, Author of Deep Work, How to Become a Straight-A Student, etc. Describes this approach of active recall and the way to keep the information stored in the brain while learning.

 The Technique

The technique is called Pedagogy, sound fancy?

I used this term because if I had written the simpler version, you might have thought this article was just a waste of time.
The simpler word for Pedagogy is teaching, I know it sounds like you have been scammed for your time.

Teaching is the technique that can be used to recall everything you have learned in the best way, either you teach yourself, a child, your stuffed toys, or the doors and almirah of your room. You just have to learn and use a 5-minute active recall technique to explain the things in your own words.

Again read the above sentence, and check what the emphasized word. Explaining something in your way of understanding will change the way of learning from reading to understanding. Once you become a teacher, you will question everything, even how 2 + 2 = 4 because in the end you will have to teach this thing, and when you will teach you will for sure pound on the question.

There's also the Feynman Technique, which is a 4-step learning method originally used by noted American Nobel laureate Richard Feynman.
There are various articles and study material around the technique, surf the internet and you can learn more. Here, the sole purpose of this article was to make you realize, the power of teaching.

 Assignment

At last, To get this into your subconscious and make this a part of your daily life. Surf anything you want to learn and give yourselves 5 minutes to explain the thing. Either write an article around it, or make videos, it's your way but do this every time.

Fun Fact: This article is also the implementation of the 5-minute rule.

As a web developer, I constantly update my knowledge and skills to keep up the pace with the dynamic web development industry. Recently, I have broadened my skill set by learning various web development technologies and tools. Here's a list of the things I've learned and am currently learning:

I'm exploring Wagtail CMS, which is a content management system built on Django, to create robust websites with custom templates and modules.

I'm using React and TypeScript together to build efficient and maintainable front-end applications.

I'm learning Stimulus, a lightweight JavaScript framework that enhances HTML-based websites by adding interactivity and animation, to improve user experience.

I'm learning to design and implement REST APIs using various tools and frameworks.

I'm using Docker to simplify my development workflow and to deploy applications to different environments.

I'm using Figma, a powerful design tool, to create wireframes and prototypes for my projects.

I'm using Git to track changes and collaborate with my team members.

Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and tools is essential for success in web development. My recent learning journey has been both exciting and challenging. I'm looking forward to using these skills to create innovative and engaging web applications.
