SwiftDocX: Pure Swift Library for Word Documents (.docx)

I'm excited to share my first Swift package - SwiftDocX!

 What is it?

SwiftDocX is a pure Swift library for reading and creating Word documents (.docx). No C++ bindings, no paid SDKs - just native Swift that works across all Apple platforms.

 Features

Read and write .docx files

Full formatting support

Tables, lists, and headings

Swift Package Manager ready

MIT licensed

 Why I built this

I needed native Word document support without C++ dependencies or paid SDKs. So I built SwiftDocX to fill that gap in the Swift ecosystem.

 Get Started

Check it out on the Swift Package Index:
https://swiftpackageindex.com/Techopolis/SwiftDocX

GitHub Sponsors:
https://github.com/sponsors/taylorarndt

 Feedback Welcome!

This is my first open source Swift package. If you have suggestions for improvements or ideas for what's next, I'd love to hear them!

Completely optional - your feedback already means a lot.

Free Weekly Coding Q&A for Learners - Starting Tomorrow

Free Weekly Coding Q&A for Learners - Starting Tomorrow

When I was learning to code, I didn't have anywhere to ask questions without feeling stupid. I got stuck constantly and just wished I had someone to talk through problems with.

Tomorrow I'm starting the thing I wish existed back then.

 What This Is

Learn to Code Tuesdays is a free weekly coding Q&A for anyone learning to code.

Details:

Every Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Central Time

Zoom video call

Free

First session: January 6, 2026

This is not a lecture or bootcamp. It's a conversation. You can show up and listen, ask questions, answer questions, and talk things through with other learners.

 Who This Is For

Anyone learning to code. Beginners, career changers, bootcamp students, university students, self-taught developers.

Any language, any platform, any experience level.

 What You Can Bring

Questions about freeCodeCamp, Codecademy, bootcamp projects, university coursework, JavaScript, Python, Swift, web development, mobile apps, AI tools, personal projects, or anything else you're working on.

If you've ever thought "I'm probably the only one who doesn't understand this," you're not. You're exactly who this is for.

 How It Works

Send your questions to taylor@techopolisonline.com during the week

Monday: I send out the compiled question list

Tuesday: we meet on Zoom and talk through them together

This isn't just a weekly meeting. There's also a Google Group discussion list and Discord for ongoing conversation and support between sessions.

 About AI

I use AI. You probably do too. We'll talk about using AI to support learning instead of using it to avoid learning. Bring your AI questions.

 How to Join

Register for Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/MCMc-4tiTP6QCPQeWQs4gw

Join the Google Group: Email learntocode+subscribe@programmingforeveryone.org

Join Discord: https://discord.com/invite/ugH9xwFd4N

If you're learning to code and you want a place to ask questions and keep going, I want you there.

First session is tomorrow. See you then.
