What's the best looking/feeling office chair you've ever used?

I'm looking for a new office chair to try out. Like many of you, I spend the majority of my day sitting to write code or run some analyses, or just catch up on email and lists. I have really struggled to find anything I like. I'm not sure what features (ergonomic or otherwise) matter to me, and of course style is a bit more important than it probably should be. I've sat in pretty much every chair on sale in my city, and have come to the conclusion that the good stuff, the truly functional furniture, must be online. I can afford a fair bit of chair, but not to experiment too much.

I've tried standing desks, but haven't been able to get into the lifestyle. I like sitting to work. I'm not in chronic pain, despite the long hours sitting over the last 15 years. I'm in great health, and get out for a lot of movement and exercise.

I really just want to be able to do the work I love, for as long as I want, every day while sitting in something that feels as glorious to my body as making things with code and conducting research feels to my mind.

What are your experiences? What chairs keep your body happy (or punish it) while you work?
