[Self-Study] Achievement: Describe the core architectural components of Azure

Today, I learnt how to describe the following definitions in Microsoft Azure. They are:

Resource Groups

Availability Zones

Region Pairs

Subscriptions

Management Groups

Using the Microsoft Learn Sandbox, I also learnt the steps to create an Azure Resource:

at Microsoft Azure (portal.azure.com), I created a Virtual Machine resource

I noticed how in the resource group of the virtual machine I created, Azure created the rest of the resources by default and associated them using similar names

[Self-Study] Microsoft Azure Fundamentals

Today I successfully completed the 3 modules for Azure Fundamentals!

From the last module, I learnt the different Cloud Service types, being:

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

Platform as a Service (Paas)

Software as a Service (SaaS)

From I to P to S,

I is most flexible in allowing lift-and-shift migration from the datacentre to a cloud environment

S is most suited for a Finance and Expense tracking solution, as SaaS allows access to software solutions, such as a ticketing system and email system

Achievement Link here

[Self-Study] Microsoft Azure - Describe the benefits of using cloud services Module

I learnt about the benefits of Cloud services, mainly:

Scalability (Vertical and Horizontal)

Reliability (Stability of the platform)

Predictability

Vertical vs Horizontal Scalability:

Vertical scalability means increasing/decreasing the capabilities of resources such as CPUs

Horizontal scalability means adding/subtracting the number of resources
