Hacktoberfest 2024: My Experience as a Maintainer

This is a submission for the 2024 Hacktoberfest Writing challenge: Maintainer Experience

Although I started my project during the last week of Hacktoberfest 2024, it was a great experience to collaborate with contributors nevertheless!

The project I'm talking about, is Cipherion.

Cipherion is a robust tool for encrypting and securely storing sensitive information using AES and multiple other encryption algorithms, featuring a command-line interface and MySQL integration.

Having built a detailed
readme.md
file for the project, I believe it helped contributors in clearly understanding my expectations from them, and the guidelines they should abide with.

I'm thankful to all contributors who've helped me out with my project, and in return, merging their PRs and getting them a step ahead towards their journey of completion of Hacktoberfest 2024, really made me glad.

I'm looking forward to participate in Hacktoberfest 2025 next year, and would like to encourage all readers to do the same. Cheers!

This is a submission for the 2024 Hacktoberfest Writing challenge: Contributor Experience

It has been a great honour to be a part of the Hacktoberfest 2024 journey as a contributor. Starting from the hype to the collaborations and friendly environment, it was truly a phenomenal experience!

This was my first time participating in a Hacktoberfest event, and I'm really grateful to all individuals who helped me with my queries whenever I asked.

I've picked up certain skills, and made a few mistakes on the way. After all mistakes are a big part of your journey to keep moving forward. and I'd like to advise all readers that don't be afraid from participating in this event due to the fear of mistakes, it's natural and keeps you going as long as you learn from them!

The open-source based knowledge that I've gained from them and by watching the community closely, can enable me to help out freshers next year onwards as well, and I'm looking forward to it.

Here are some of the projects that I worked on, through which I got my 4 PRs merged, and thereby completing Hacktoberfest 2024 successfully!

I'm looking forward to participating in Hacktoberfest 2025 next year, and would like to encourage all readers to do the same. Come, join the open-source movement together with me! Cheers!
