Day 5/#100DaysOfCode

Day 5 | 100

On day five I continued to study design/UI and wrote some very ugly and very horrid looking webpages! They will improve as I do, but they were horrible and as such I must continue onward and keep studying design principles, Scrimba has a design course, which I will take as soon as possible!

I continued to also think on ideas and play a bit with Scratch for the Week 0 assignment for CS50! It did not go well... :(

And the big thing -- I dipped by toes in React again, more this time, I understand what JSX is and why its a thing! Very exciting.

To day 6 ...

Day 4 / #100DaysOfCode

Day 4 of #100DaysOfCode is complete!

Today's coding was short, but I did finish a Scrimba module; which involved creating a Chrome extension. Then I worked on modifying it, or rather, looking at various APIs to modify it, and I got a little carried away.

I also spent some time brainstorming ideas for CS50, Problem Set 0. It requires you to create a project in Scratch (link). I have no imagination or tendency to overthink, so it's a bit of a challenge for me, and everything I see I think, "Oh, I cannot do that now; it's like cheating, right?" even if it's just inspiration, and since I looked at a few games, it feels like so many are locked out for my own implementation.

Big day today: I also put up my solo project, a movie watch list. It's not perfect, but I will improve it as I learn more.
Another thing I also did was dip my toes into React, it was momentary, but oh my goodness, React looks freaking awesome, and I cannot wait to jump into that 100%.

Overall, it was a productive fourth day that included non-code activities (Math!).

Onwards to day five, which will have a focus on CSS and responsive design!

// Movie Watch List

⚜️ Repo: https://github.com/ofthewildfire/MovieWatchList
⚜️ Live link: https://ofthewildfire.github.io/MovieWatchList/

Repo also has a README with a task list that I am still working on/known problem!

Day 3/ 100DaysOfCode

Day 3 of 100DaysOfCode

Today was a long day - I started CS50 on edX and learned a lot in just the one lecture and also I played with the Scratch problem set.

Once again on my solo project I played with the CSS Grid some more to get it looking the way I want, it looks good, will put it up later today on my github.

Other things I did that had me writing code were:

Helped in a community chat, which was good, it was a moment for recall on information and I liked that.

<3 onward to day 4.

Chugging on... Day 2/100 Days of Code

Day 2 | #100DaysOfCode

Marking the end of day 2 of #100DaysOfCode with another win for me. Which is great, very happy about that.

Todays time was spent in three different places:

Learning CSS Grid, did that through Scrimba free course https://scrimba.com/learn/cssgrid -- which was great, very visual and I played 17 levels of Grid Attack
a CSS gamified study session, not a play-game person, but it was fun, aesthetic and helped re-enforce a lot.

Plan to try out a FE challenge that uses Grid (maybe the Kanban board, its a Junior one I believe?)

Worked on my FEM Rock Paper Scissors challenge:

Repo: https://github.com/ofthewildfire/rockpaperscissorsfm
Demo: https://ofthewildfire.github.io/rockpaperscissorsfm/

Made a number of changes, mostly though it was to the CSS - I did break the game functionality a bit, but I am sure its not a hard fix, so I will look at it later. The CSS was what I was struggling with and now it looks so nice...

I am truly very happy with how the visual looks; so much more to work on, I currently have no idea how to implement the pop-up when a button is clicked and the random result is decided. It pops up, but then for some reason I cannot hit the play button -- so tomorrow, or later tonight I will be working on that some more. Though I do want to work on another project, from the Scrimba path for a bit too. Its the reason for the Grid study today. :)

But the Rock, Paper Scissors is coming along and I am happy.

Another thing I dont yet know how to do is the pulse animation, I tried a key-frames and it worked, but it didn't look as nice as it did in the picture, so, will keep thinking on more ideas there.

Overall a good day and I am happy with progress. <3

To a good day 3 ;)

Day 1/100

Today I worked on the Frontend Mentor Rock Paper Scissors Challenge.

I have the game working, but struggling on the CSS.
Watching some Youtube to learn how to do those things properly.

Its been a good first day.

Code and live demo for current unfinished project
