Show DEV: One 1024 1024 PNG Becomes Every App Icon You Need (iOS, Android, PWA, Extensions)

Shipping an app means shipping icons. A lot of them. Xcode wants an asset catalog with a
Contents.json
pointing at a dozen PNGs, Android wants
mipmap
densities plus adaptive-icon XML, your PWA wants maskable icons in the manifest, the Chrome Web Store wants its own sizes, Windows wants a genuine multi-resolution
.ico
— and every one of them has a rule that will quietly bite you.

The usual options: click through an online generator that uploads your artwork and spits out a partial set, or write a script you'll maintain forever.

Here's the shortcut: ToolsMonk's App Icon Generator takes one 1024×1024 PNG (or design one in-place from a letter, emoji, or an AI prompt) and produces the complete icon set as a single ZIP — entirely in your browser. Your artwork never leaves your machine.

The rules it handles so you don't have to remember them

Apple's 1024 icon must have no alpha channel. The App Store rejects transparency on the marketing icon. The export flattens the 1024 PNG for you.

Android adaptive icons live on a 108dp canvas with a 66dp safe zone. You get foreground, background, and the Android 13 themed monochrome layer, plus a live launcher-mask preview (circle / squircle / rounded) with a safe-zone overlay that shows how much of your logo each mask would crop.

Maskable PWA icons are generated alongside a web manifest, so
purpose: "maskable"
actually works instead of your logo getting cropped to a tiny circle on Android.

Windows gets a real multi-resolution
.ico
— not a renamed PNG. And for macOS, since browsers can't emit
.icns
directly, you get an
AppIcon.iconset
folder ready for
iconutil -c icns
(one command, documented in the included README).

 What's in the ZIP

Target

What you get

iOS / iPadOS

Every size +
Contents.json
(Xcode asset catalog)

macOS

AppIcon.iconset
(run
iconutil -c icns
)

watchOS

Full size set + catalog

Android

mipmap-*
densities,
mipmap-anydpi-v26
adaptive XML, Play Store 512

Windows

Multi-resolution
.ico

PWA / Web

Favicons, maskable icons, web manifest snippet

Extensions

Browser extension icon sizes

PNG by default (deliberately — it's lossless everywhere), WebP optional for web and extension icons. Also included: an HTML
<head>
snippet so favicon wiring is copy-paste.

Three ways to get a source icon

Upload your own 1024×1024 artwork (the ideal input — smaller images get upscaled, and the tool warns you)

Design in-place from a letter, emoji, or symbol — padding, rotation, auto-trim, solid/gradient/auto-sampled backgrounds, even a build-flavour ribbon (BETA/DEV) for internal builds

AI prompt — that one tab sends your text prompt (not your artwork) to an AI provider; everything else stays local

 Getting it into the build

Unzip, drop the
ios/
folder contents into
Assets.xcassets
, point
android/app/src/main/res
at the
mipmap
folders, paste the head snippet into your
index.html
. Done.

Handy companions: icon design best practices for web (SVG) and the complete favicon generator guide for 2026.

 Where to get it

Web (no install): toolsmonk.com/tool/appicon

Windows: Microsoft Store

Android: Google Play

Free, no signup, no watermark. If a platform you target is missing from the export set, tell us in the comments or the site feedback — it's a one-line addition most of the time.

Show DEV: A Free Layer-Based Photo Editor That Runs Entirely in Your Browser (No Uploads)

If you have ever tried to do "real" photo editing — layers, masks, blend modes — without a subscription, you know the usual dead ends: desktop tools cost money, and most "free online editors" quietly upload your images to a server, stamp a watermark, or cap you at three edits a day.

And if you work on the web, you have probably hit a second annoyance: you just need that PNG screenshot converted to WebP or AVIF so Lighthouse stops complaining, and even that somehow requires uploading the file somewhere.

I want to show you a tool that solves both problems at once. ToolsMonk's Photo Editor is a layer-based editor that runs 100% in your browser tab. Your images are opened, composited, and exported on your own device — nothing is uploaded.

What you actually get (the checklist that matters)

Real layers — image, text, shape, drawing, and adjustment layers, each with its own opacity, blend mode, and paintable mask

Non-destructive adjustments — exposure/colour edits live on adjustment layers, so they stay reversible

AI background removal and upscaling that run locally — the segmentation model executes on your device

Opens HEIC — yes, those iPhone photos that half the tools on the planet refuse to open

Exports PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, and JPEG-XL — free, no watermark, no edit cap, no signup

One honest caveat: two AI features are opt-in and do touch a server — smart crop (it sends a downscaled copy) and generate image (it sends your text prompt). Everything else stays local.

Four things web developers will actually use it for

 1. Converting screenshots to WebP/AVIF for Core Web Vitals

Drop the PNG in, export as WebP (or AVIF for even smaller sizes), done in under a minute — no upload, no command line, no "free trial expired" popup. If you want the deeper background, we wrote a full image format comparison (JPEG vs PNG vs WebP vs AVIF) and an image optimization guide for site speed.

 2. Redacting client screenshots without trusting anyone

Client data in a screenshot? Editing it locally means it never leaves your machine. Paint over the sensitive region on a shape layer, flatten, export.

 3. Background removal for avatars and product shots

The AI background removal runs the segmentation model in your browser — same category of on-device model we benchmarked in our background-removal model comparison.

 4. Exam and passport photo resizing

Government portals love exact pixel sizes and KB limits. Crop, resize, export as JPG under the size cap — locally. There is a full walkthrough in our exam photo & signature size guide.

How it stays fast (briefly, for the curious)

The whole thing is Canvas compositing: each layer is an offscreen canvas, and the editor composites the stack bottom-up with per-layer blend modes (
globalCompositeOperation
) and opacity. Adjustment layers are stored as parameters and applied at composite time — which is what keeps them reversible. No server round-trips means latency is bounded by your device, not your connection.

What it deliberately does NOT do

No PSD support (flatten to PNG/JPG first), no plug-ins, no CMYK/print colour management, and huge multi-layer documents are bounded by your device memory. For everyday web and document work, that trade-off is exactly why it can be free and private.

 Where to get it

Web (no install): toolsmonk.com/tool/photo-editor

Windows: Microsoft Store

Android: Google Play

No account, no paywall. If you hit a missing feature or a bug, the feedback link is right on the site — it's a small team and the roadmap is mostly built from those messages.

Show DEV: A Free Invoice Generator for Small Businesses — No Sign-up, No Watermarks

Every freelancer and small business owner knows the drill: you finish the work, and then the real work begins — creating a professional invoice. Paid invoicing tools charge monthly fees for what is essentially a template, and free ones watermark your invoice or hold the PDF hostage until you "upgrade".

ToolsMonk Invoice Generator takes a different route: a complete invoice builder that runs in your browser, free, with no account.

 What it does

Professional invoice layout — your business details, client details, itemized line items, and totals in a clean structure clients respect

Tax and discount fields — GST/VAT percentages, per-item or overall discounts, calculated live as you type

Multi-currency support — invoice clients in their currency with proper symbol and formatting

PDF export — download a clean, printable invoice with no watermark and no "upgrade to remove" stamp

Privacy by default — your client names, amounts, and billing details are processed on your device, not uploaded to a server

Why businesses actually care about these details

Invoices are legal documents. They often contain your client's billing address, your revenue, and agreed rates. A generator that uploads all of that to "free-invoice-site.com" creates a data trail most businesses never think about. Client-side processing eliminates it.

Speed matters at month-end. When you are invoicing five clients on the 30th, a tool that reloads an ad between every field is a tax on your patience. Live-updating totals and no sign-up means invoice number one to sent-PDF in under two minutes.

Watermarks cost credibility. A watermark on an invoice makes a one-person business look smaller than it is. Clean output levels that field.

 Three ways to use it

Web: toolsmonk.com/tool/invoice-generator

Windows desktop app: Microsoft Store — handy for offline invoicing

Android app: Google Play — create an invoice right after the client call

It is part of a suite of 255+ free tools (PDF, images, text, SEO, calculators), all at toolsmonk.com.

 Feedback welcome

If you run a freelance business or a small company: what does your current invoicing flow look like, and what is the most annoying part of it? Asking because the next iteration gets shaped by these answers.

Show DEV: Remove Image Backgrounds in Your Browser — Free, No Uploads

Every background remover I tried had the same catch: "upload your image and we'll process it in the cloud." For product photos, that's tolerable. For anything personal — family photos, ID scans, client assets — it's a quiet privacy leak.

ToolsMonk Background Remover does the cutout locally in the browser. The image stays on your machine.

 What it handles well

Product shots — clean cutouts for e-commerce listings and mockups

Profile photos & thumbnails — the endless "need a headshot on white" requirement

Tricky edges — hair, fur, and semi-transparent areas get feathered rather than hacked off

Batch thinking — drop one image, get the transparent PNG, repeat — no queue, no credits

 The on-device part

The segmentation model runs client-side via WebAssembly/In-browser inference. No account, no watermark, no "3 free images then pay." If a specific tool on ToolsMonk ever needs a server, it's listed publicly at toolsmonk.com/where-your-files-are-processed — the background remover isn't on that list.

 Three ways to use it

🌐 Web: toolsmonk.com/tool/background-remover

Windows desktop app: Microsoft Store — or the direct installer (v1.1.24) from GitHub Releases

Android app: Google Play

It's one of 250+ free tools in the suite. If you shoot product photos or maintain a lot of thumbnails, tell me your current workflow — I'm collecting edge cases for the next iteration (pun intended).

Show DEV: A Free ATS-Friendly Resume Maker (No Sign-up, Files Stay on Your Device)

A quietly brutal fact about job applications: most mid-to-large companies run resumes through an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) before a human ever sees them. Beautifully designed resumes with tables, text boxes, and graphics often get mangled into unparseable soup at that step.

So I built the kind of resume maker I'd want while job hunting: ToolsMonk Resume Maker — free, no account, and it works entirely in your browser.

 What it focuses on

ATS-friendly structure — clean sections and formatting that parsers can actually read

Live preview — see the layout build as you type

PDF export — the format recruiters expect, without watermarks or "upgrade to download" walls

Privacy by default — your employment history and phone number never get uploaded anywhere; everything renders on-device

 Who it's for

Developers and students shipping their first serious applications

Anyone tired of "free" resume builders that hold your PDF hostage behind a paywall

People applying to companies with strict ATS pipelines who need clean, parseable output

 Three ways to use it

🌐 Web: toolsmonk.com/tool/resume-maker

Windows desktop app: Microsoft Store — or the direct installer (v1.1.24) from GitHub Releases

Android app: Google Play

The resume maker is one of 250+ free tools in the suite — there's also an exam photo & signature size guide if you're filling government or exam forms.

If you're job hunting right now: what's the most annoying thing about the tools you've tried? I genuinely want to know — it shapes what gets built next.

Show DEV: A Free PDF Editor That Runs Entirely in Your Browser (No Uploads)

Most "free" PDF editors ask you to upload contracts, invoices, and IDs to their servers before you can touch them. I built an alternative I'm comfortable using on my own documents.

ToolsMonk PDF Editor edits PDFs locally in the browser — the file never leaves your device.

 What it does

Edit — add text, images, shapes and annotations directly on pages

Merge & split — combine documents or extract exactly the pages you need

Compress — shrink files without the usual quality collapse

Sign — draw or place signatures on contracts

OCR — pull text out of scanned documents

Convert — PDF ↔ Word / Excel / PowerPoint, both directions

 Why on-device matters here

A PDF is usually the final version of something sensitive — an offer letter, an NDA, a bank statement. Privacy policies are nice; not uploading the file at all is nicer. Everything above runs client-side. The few tools on ToolsMonk that do use a server (some AI features) are listed openly at toolsmonk.com/where-your-files-are-processed.

 Three ways to use it

🌐 Web: toolsmonk.com/tool/pdf-editor

Windows desktop app: Microsoft Store — or the direct installer (v1.1.24) from GitHub Releases

Android app: Google Play

No account, no watermark, no "upgrade to export" wall.

If you try it, tell me which PDF task you reach for most — merge and compress are the heavy hitters in my own usage, but I'm curious what yours are.

Show DEV: ToolsMonk — 250+ Free Online Tools That Run on Your Device

Hey devs! I want to show you ToolsMonk — a free suite of 250+ online tools built around one core principle: your files are processed on your device whenever technically possible.

 What's inside

PDF tools — edit, merge, split, compress, sign, OCR, and convert to/from Word / Excel / PowerPoint

Image tools — resize, convert, rotate, background remover, photo editor

Text & developer tools — JSON/CSV converters, regex tester, JWT decoder, markdown tools

SEO tools — keyword density checker, SERP snippet generator, meta tag tools

Calculators & converters — loan/EMI, depreciation, fuel economy, cooking conversions

AI helpers — AI PDF summarizer and AI text humanizer (the few tools that need a server are openly listed at toolsmonk.com/where-your-files-are-processed)

 Why "on-device" matters

Most tools run 100% in the browser — no uploads, no account, no file-size anxiety. Privacy by architecture, not by policy. Merge a 200-page contract PDF and the bytes never leave your machine.

 Three ways to use it

Web: toolsmonk.com

Windows desktop app: Microsoft Store — or the direct installer (v1.1.24) from GitHub Releases

Android app: Google Play

Stack notes for the curious: Next.js (App Router) on the web, Electron for desktop, Flutter for Android. One codebase philosophy per platform, shared tool logic where it makes sense.

 Feedback wanted

If you get a chance to try it, I'd genuinely love feedback:

Which tools do you actually reach for in your daily work?

What's missing from your current toolkit that you wish existed as a no-signup web tool?

Thanks for reading! 🙏
