JSON Web Token VS Session based authentication

Hi folks!
I've been using passport with express sessions for user authentication for a while. Now I wanna try authentication with JWT (JSON Web Token). JWT authentication with email and password seems pretty simple. But I think it gets a little complicated when JWT is used with OAuth. I just wanna ask that:

Is it a popular practice to use JWT for OAuth?
Which method is better, JWT or session based authentication? And please provide a link to a simple guide to use JWT for OAuth if you think JWT for OAuth is a better choice.

MERN Stack social media app with socket.io

Hello developers.
I've been recently working on my new personal project. It is a social media platform where you can make posts and chat with other people. It also has support for group chat.

I've used socket.io for "real time" chat and posts, it allows to send and receive data with very low latency.

For front-end, I've used TailwindCSS which makes the styling process very easy and time efficient. And I've also added user authentication with Google and Facebook or you can just signup with username and password. Plase check it out here and let me know your thoughts down below.

I have taught myself MERN Stack developement. And to put my skills to test, I started working on my basic full stack project. The idea was to build a buy and sell website which included CRUD operations and user authentication.

Project Ideas for nodejs or MERN stack applications

Hye, I have taught my self HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, nodejs, express.js, mongodb and socket.io and have built some basic projects (included in the course).
I have not yet used my fresh skills for a personal project. It is not easy to be a self taught programmer. I think I have come so far and I don't want to just give up. I feel less motivated because I have not done any project on my own. I hope that you understand my position.
Please give me some project ideas (such as APIs and other fullstack websites etc) in which I can implement skills mentioned above to improve my skills, challenge myself and eventually showcase these projects for my portfolio
Also, after completing the projects, what should I do? Try to get a job at a software house or some intership etc, or try to work as freelancer? and also give me a reason for your answer.
And at the end, any advice for me as a junior MERN stack developer?
This is my first ever post on this platform. I have read many usefull and amazing articles. I love dev.to communuty.
