Building Unisquads: Combining Community, Wikis, Maps, and Interactive Picks

Online communities generate valuable knowledge every day, but much of it disappears into timelines and old discussion threads. We built Unisquads to explore a different model: community participation combined with information that stays structured and discoverable.

 What is Unisquads?

Unisquads is a community platform for discovering and contributing to:

collaborative wiki pages

curated lists and collections

interactive maps

community forums and shared information

tournament-style picks and comparisons

The idea is to connect formats that are normally scattered across separate services. A user might discover a topic through a list, explore related places on a map, read structured background information, and then participate in a community pick.

 The product problem

Traditional feeds are optimized for what is new, not necessarily what remains useful. Important context gets buried, repeated questions fragment good answers, and older contributions become difficult to find.

Wikis solve part of this problem, but conventional wiki experiences can feel passive. Forums are highly participatory, but their knowledge is often difficult to organize. Unisquads brings these strengths together by combining structured pages with community-driven discovery and interaction.

Designing for different ways to explore

People do not always want to search with a precise query. Sometimes they want to browse a collection, navigate visually, compare two choices, or learn from what a community has already organized.

That led us to support multiple discovery surfaces:

Wiki pages for durable, structured context.

Lists for curated recommendations and collections.

Maps for spatial and location-based discovery.

Picks for engaging comparisons and community preferences.

Community participation for continuously improving the information.

 What comes next

We are continuing to improve how these formats connect and how community contributions can remain useful without creating unnecessary friction. The long-term goal is to make collective knowledge easier to discover, understand, and build upon.

Explore the platform at unisquads.io.

Unisquads is operated by startupful.
