What Makes the Best Valet Parking Software? A Technical Look

Valet parking looks like a simple problem. A car arrives, someone parks it, the guest gets it back.

Then you try to build software for it.

The attendant is standing in an underground garage with no signal. The guest doesn't want to download an app. The hotel wants the charge on the room bill. The valet company wants the tip money in its own account, not the vendor's. And all of this happens at 11pm on a Saturday with 40 cars waiting.

I've been looking at how valet software handles these problems. This post walks through the technical choices that separate the best valet parking software from the rest, and how the main platforms on the market approach them.

The core data model is small

At its heart, a valet system tracks one thing: a ticket moving through states.

ValeKit, for example, uses seven:

checked_in → staged → parked → requested → pulling → ready → completed

Each ticket links to a vehicle (plate, make, color, photos), a location, a zone or spot, a key hook, and the staff who touched it.

That part is easy to model. The hard parts are everything around it.

Problem 1: Garages have no signal

This is the one that catches people out.

Valet attendants spend half their shift in parking structures. Concrete and steel kill mobile data. If your app needs a live connection to log "parked in zone B, spot 42," it fails exactly where it's needed most.

So the runner app has to be offline-first. Writes go to a local database on the phone and sync when the connection comes back. That brings the usual questions: conflict handling, encryption at rest on a device that might get lost, and making sure two attendants don't grab the same car.

ValeKit's attendant app works offline and syncs when connectivity returns. When you evaluate any valet software, ask specifically what happens with no signal. "It's cloud-based" isn't an answer.

Problem 2: Guests won't install an app

Nobody downloads an app to get their car back from a restaurant.

That's why most modern platforms have moved to an SMS link. The guest gets a text at check-in. The link opens a mobile web page showing the car's status, with a button to request it.

From a build point of view, that link is a short-lived, unguessable token tied to one ticket. No login, no account. ValeKit's tracking links expire seven days after check-in.

Not every platform handles this the same way:

ValeKit and Summon are built around ticketless SMS retrieval.

PUR Valet uses SMS tickets with two-way messaging, plus a QR code option with a printed fallback.

O-Valet and Oobeo let operators choose between SMS, plastic or paper tickets.

The mixed approach suits operators moving off paper slowly. The SMS-only approach keeps the data clean, because every car goes through the same digital flow.

Problem 3: Whose money is it?

This is the question most buyers forget to ask.

When a guest pays for valet or leaves a tip, the money has to land somewhere. There are two common patterns:

The vendor collects it and pays the operator out later.
The operator has their own merchant account, connected to the platform.

The second is cleaner for the operator. They get paid directly, and they own the chargeback relationship.

ValeKit uses Stripe Connect, so funds settle to the operator's own Stripe account. Summon also runs on Stripe. Oobeo works with most payment processors and is a Square partner. PUR Valet supports digital tips through Apple Pay and Google Pay.

If you're building or buying, this decision affects compliance, reporting and how fast money moves. It's worth settling early.

 Problem 4: How much hardware?

This is where the market splits the most.

Phone-only platforms run on iOS and Android devices the team already has:

ValeKit

PUR Valet

Oobeo (with optional reusable fobs)

Summon (with optional card readers, or Tap to Pay on iPhone with no reader)

Hardware-heavy platforms treat valet as part of a larger site install:

O-Valet offers kiosks, barcode scanners, Bluetooth label printers and gate arm integration as add-ons.

FlashParking covers garages, surface lots and EV charging, with camera-based access control and kiosks in the wider system.

Neither approach is wrong. A phone-only system can go live fast. A hardware system can do more on site, but it's an installation project with a longer timeline.

 Problem 5: Integrations

Hotels are the big one here. They want valet charges posted to the guest's room folio through the property management system (PMS).

PUR Valet leads with this, connecting to systems like Opera and Agilisys. O-Valet and Oobeo also offer hotel PMS integration. ValeKit includes hotel PMS integration on its Enterprise plan.

Outside hotels, integrations matter less. A restaurant or hospital valet usually just needs payments and reporting.

 Pricing models

Pricing is another split. Some vendors publish it, some don't.

ValeKit publishes three plans, from $99 a month, sized by locations and users, with included tickets and SMS and per-unit overage rates. The full breakdown is on the ValeKit pricing page. Summon and O-Valet also publish pricing. PUR Valet, Oobeo and FlashParking are demo-only.

If you're comparing costs, model the busy months, not the average ones. Valet volume spikes around holidays and events, and overage rates decide those bills.

So what is the best valet parking software?

It depends on the operation, but the technical questions are the same:

Does the attendant app work with no signal?

How do guests request their car, and do they need an app?

Whose account do payments and tips land in?

How much hardware is required?

Does it integrate with the systems you already run?

Get clear answers to those five, and the right platform usually becomes obvious.

For a broader side-by-side, ValeKit has a full write-up of the best valet parking software in 2026.

How Valet Parking Software Pricing Works

Valet operations run on tight margins and busy nights. So when a team looks at valet software, pricing is one of the first things they check.

ValeKit is ticketless valet parking software. Attendants check cars in from a phone. Guests get a text link to track and request their car. Payments, tips and shift reports are handled in the same system.

This post explains how ValeKit valet parking software pricing is structured, plan by plan.

How the pricing is structured

 ValeKit pricing has two parts.

1.A monthly plan.

Each plan has a fixed price and is sized by:

The number of locations you run

The number of users (attendants and managers) who need a login

2.Included usage.

Each plan includes a monthly amount of:

Tickets, one for each vehicle checked in

SMS messages, used for guest tracking and car requests

Usage above the included amount is billed per unit.

 What each plan includes

 Starter

For single-location operations getting started with digital valet.

iOS and Android mobile app

Full ticket lifecycle management

Customer retrieval links by SMS

Real-time web dashboard

Stripe payments built in

AI vehicle recognition

Email support

 Professional

For multi-location operations that need reporting and controls. Includes everything in Starter, plus:

Photo damage tracking

VIP and blacklist management

Revenue and team reports

Rate and pricing configuration

Role-based access control

Priority support

 Enterprise

For large operations with custom integrations and contracts. Includes everything in Professional, plus:

Hotel PMS integration

Offline mode sync

Custom brand colors and logos

Invoice and PO billing

Dedicated account manager

SLA and custom contracts

 Billing terms

No setup fees on Starter and Professional

No long-term contracts on Starter and Professional

Enterprise comes with SLA and custom contract terms

SMS usage and guest convenience fees are billed separately from the plan price

Operations with more than 20 locations can contact ValeKit sales

 Summary

ValeKit valet parking software pricing is built on three monthly plans. Each plan sets the number of locations and users, includes a monthly amount of tickets and SMS, and bills extra usage per unit.

For current plan details and the cost estimator, visit the ValeKit pricing page.
