git diff
Description:

Description:

Command:

git clone

git fork
Description:

Creates a personal copy of someone else's repository into your GitHub account.

git pull
Description:

Fetches and integrates changes from the remote repository into the current branch.

Command:
git pull origin main

git push
Description:

Sends committed changes to a remote repository like GitHub.

Command:
git push origin main

git blame
Description:

Shows who last modified each line of a file and when.

Command:
git blame filename

git merge conflict
Description:

Occurs when changes from different branches conflict during a merge.

Command to simulate:

Make conflicting changes in two branches
git merge feature-branch

git branch
Description:

Lists existing branches or creates a new one.

Command:
git branch

To create a new branch
git branch new-branch

git ignore
Description:

Used to exclude files and directories from version control by specifying them in a .gitignore file.

Command:

Create or edit .gitignore file and add the filenames or patterns to exclude.

Today, I’m excited to share how I containerized a simple Machine Learning project using Docker. If you’re new to Docker or Machine Learning, don't worry — I’ll explain everything step-by-step!
When building ML projects, the environment (Python version, libraries, dependencies) matters a lot.
Docker helps you create a consistent environment that works everywhere — on your machine, on the cloud, and even for your teammates.

Benefits:

No "it works on my machine" problem.
Easy to deploy anywhere.
Cleaner project structure

🛠️ Setting Up the Project
Here’s a simple project structure:

Step 1: Check Current Branches
Command:git branch
Action:Lists all local branches. Shows that only the main branch exists initially.

Step 2: Create a New Branch
Command:git branch feature-24MCR123
Action:Creates a new branch named feature-24MCR123 from the current branch (main).

Step 3: Switch to the New Branch
Command:git checkout feature-24MCR123
Action:Switches the working directory to the new branch feature-24MCR123.

Step 4: Verify the Current Branch
Command:git branch
Action:Lists all branches. The active branch (feature-24MCR123) is highlighted with an asterisk *.

Step 5: Stage Changes for Commit
Command:git add .
Action:Stages all modified and newly created files for the next commit.

Step 6: Commit the Changes
Command:git commit -m "Your commit message"
Action:Commits the staged changes with a provided commit message.

Step 7: Push the Branch to Remote Repository
Command:git push -u origin feature-24MCR123
Action:Pushes the feature-24MCR123 branch to the remote repository (origin) and sets it to track the remote branch.

GIT and GITHUB

Step 1: Initialize the Git Repository
Command: git init
Action: Initializes a new Git repository in the current directory.

Step 2: Add a File to the Repository
Command: git add 24MCR123.txt
Action: Stages the specified file to be committed.

Step 3: Attempt to Commit Changes
Command: git commit -m "Added personal details"
Action: Tries to commit the staged file but fails due to missing user identity.

Step 4: Configure Git Global User Email
Command: git config --global user.email "varshinithirunavukkarasu2006@gmail.com"
Action: Sets the global email identity for Git commits.

Step 5: Configure Git Global User Name
Command: git config --global user.name "Varshini2806"
Action: Sets the global username for Git commits.

Step 6: Retry Committing Changes
Command: git commit -m "Added personal details"
Action: Successfully commits the changes now that the identity is set.

Step 7: View Commit Log
Command: git log
Action: Displays the history of commits, showing commit hash, author, date, and message.

Step 8: Add a Remote Repository
Command: git remote add origin https://github.com/Varshini2806/24MCR123.git
Action: Links the local repository to a remote GitHub repository.

Step 9: Check Current Branch
Command: git branch
Action: Lists all local branches (shows * master as current branch).

Step 10: Rename Branch from master to main
Command: git branch -M main
Action: Renames the current branch to main.

Step 11: Verify New Branch Name
Command: git branch
Action: Confirms the current branch is now main.

Step 12: Push Local Branch and Set Upstream to Remote
Command: git push -u origin main
Action: Pushes the local main branch to the remote named origin and sets the upstream (tracking) relationship between local main and remote main.

Step 13: Stage a Modified File
Command: git add 24MCR123.txt
Action: Stages the updated file 24MCR123.txt to prepare it for committing.

Step 14: Commit the Changes
Command: git commit -m "updated"
Action: Commits the staged file with the message "updated", indicating a change has been made.

Step 15: Push the Commit to the Remote Repository
Command: git push -u origin main
Action: Pushes the latest commit to the remote repository. The -u flag ensures the local branch continues tracking the remote branch.
