Closer to God via Agent.ai

This is a submission for the Agent.ai Challenge: Assembly of Agents (See Details)

 What I Built

Sunday Service Agent is an AI agent that enlists the help of three other related agents to give the user a compressed experience of a sunday service.

I built this agent because my dad is a pastor and I've always wanted to contribute to the body of Christ but I'm not the most religious lad. I think sometimes religious activities, tho they're great and important get in the way of personal connection to Christ.

I hope this agent is used by two types of people.

One of them is the lad who is overwhelmed by some negative emotions and not sure where to turn to, I hope this person can find Sunday Service Agent and get a spiritual upliftment thanks to the generated output.

The second type of person is the person that's like me that wants a connection with God but is not so thrilled with churches and people in general. I hope this person gets to be intrigued by sunday service agent and they share it to their friends and they inspire their group.

All to the glory of God.

 Demo

Sunday Service Agent

 Agent.ai Experience

The experience was quite delightful to be honest and the Builder is quite powerful. I believe great agents can be built with agent.ai and I look to exploring it more outside of the hackathon.

A delightful moment was figuring out how to invoke other agents, seeing how easy it was once I figured it out was great. Also figuring out how to display the different outputs from the assembly of agent in one single output was cool.

My biggest challenge was in the text to audio space it wasn't working as expected, I should explore it more. My first idea was choirmaster's assistant agent where you give it a sermon file and it creates a choir ministration including tonic solfa notation from the sermon message.

I hit a roadblock because I wanted to implement a text to music functionality so the user can hear the generated tune from the agent but this was frustrating and I couldn't overcome it so I pivoted to Sunday Service Agent.

Choirmaster's assistant Agent

 WEEK 1: ALL ABOUT IDEAS

Hello world!
GM to you wherever you are on the planet.

This is the ALLDAO blog, Buildspace series. I’m writing these articles to help everyone reading better understand ALLDAO; a web3 community type startup building a fintech solution for communities.

Whew! That was a mouthful.

This is the second article in the series. You can read the first article here. First Article.

In this article, I’ll be telling you about the evolution of the idea that is ALLDAO. At the end of this article, you’ll be able to decide for yourself how you can contribute to creating and capturing value using ALLDAO.

Ready? Set? LFG!

When the universe gives you a sign, you should listen. Within the space of two days, I heard the same message twice, from two different people, in different contexts. Coincidence? Synchronicity? Singularity?

The first was Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook. I found a recording of one of his speeches on a podcast on Spotify. He said some things that really resonated with me, being a founder of ALLDAO. Here are some of the things he said:

The challenge for our generation is to create a world where everyone has a sense of purpose.

Purpose is that feeling that you’re a part of something bigger than yourself, that you’re needed and that you have something better ahead to work for. Purpose is what creates true happiness.

3 ways we can create a world where everyone has a sense of purpose:

By taking on big meaningful projects together.

By redefining equality so everyone has the freedom to pursue their purpose.

By building community all across the world.

All of these align with the values at ALLDAO. We started off trying to build a project for a hackathon but ALLDAO is so much more than that. With ALLDAO we can actually make an impact in the world!

With ALLDAO we can do more than just connect the world, we can empower communities (connected individuals) like never before. With ALLDAO we can own, decide, and control the future together.

These got me thinking, but there’s more, in the same speech Mark Zuckerberg also said the following:

No one knows everything when they begin, ideas don’t come out fully formed, they only become clear as you work on them, you just have to get started.

The idea of a single eureka moment is a dangerous lie. It prevents people with seeds of a good idea from ever getting started in the first place.

Let’s do big things not just to create progress but to create purpose.

The greatest successes comes from having the freedom to fail.

A day later, I was at Buildspace, receiving a lecture from Farza, and the central theme was this; Ideas are forged, not found.

Farza, founder of Buildspace told his own story, about the evolution of Buildspace. Some of the key points are:

Ideas are just starting points.

He spent 3 months unsuccessfully trying to find a great idea.

Eventually, he did the thing he was most excited about, he opened a school teaching kids to code at his mum’s house.

Have fun with it.

Great ideas are forged not found, he forged his idea zipschool to buildspace.

Pick one idea and iterate.

Get really good at the process of figuring it out.

The universe was clearly screaming at me to pursue this dream, to work on this idea, to keep going and I wasn’t going to say no for any reason!

Short break, if you got here, thank you for your contribution. The ALLDAO team appreciates you. 😊

Alright, where was I…

I was speaking with Fon, CTO, Co-founder of ALLDAO and I asked him what the idea was before it became ALLDAO and he acknowledged that he also couldn’t remember. Safe to say, we’re on the right path.

If web1 was the creation of the internet and web2 is Facebook then web3 is ALLDAO.

Ladies and Gentlemen, humans of every nature, if you’re reading this, I congratulate you because we are at the precipice of the future.

I really believe in ALLDAO. I believe ALLDAO is the future of communities. I believe that because of ALLDAO humans are going to be able to achieve more. I believe that because of ALLDAO more people are going to be able to find their purpose.

If you want to get regular updates on ALLDAO sent directly to your mail, reach out to us at ALLDAO at alldao.team@gmail.com

If you think we’re building something cool you’d like to be a part of, or you just want to say hi, or you’d like to chat about the possibilities with ALLDAO please reach out to us at alldao.team@gmail.com

A fintech solution for communities, built by a community. Everyone can contribute, let’s do this together.

Till next time…

P.S: The next article will contain a link to try out the prototype, lfg!

With Love,
WEEK 0: BEFORE BUILDSPACE

Hello world!
Victor, Onoja Odoh here. A co-founder of ALLDAO.

I’m writing this article, and I’m starting this blog, to educate and publicize to you about ALLDAO.

In the coming weeks you’ll get to know as much about ALLDAO as I do and as a start, I’d like to tell you about ALLDAO before we joined Buildspace.

I came up with the name ALLDAO. I can’t remember what name we used before then but I can remember that the concept of ALLDAO existed before we decided on a name.

ALLDAO is all about community, everyone reading this, especially if you get to the end, are a part of ALLDAO. Myself and everyone else at ALLDAO thanks you immensely 😊

Now sit back while I take you on a trip down memory lane.

Even though we had exams, myself and Nwa Fon, another co-founder, relentlessly hacked our way through two hackathons back to back during the last three months of 2022.

We built our first DAO, Brother’s Keeper, and we built a dAPP ecosystem, NFTverse. We didn’t win either hackathon but looking back if we hadn’t failed then or at least tried, ALLDAO probably wouldn’t have been born.

Funny story; after hacking all day till night working on Brother’s Keeper DAO, trying to meet the 3AM deadline submission. Me and Fon both fell asleep and forgot to even submit the project, burn out is real guys! Imagine waking up to realize you missed the deadline you were so desperately trying to meet.

Like I said earlier, looking back now, it wasn’t really about the success or failure of that endeavor but rather the momentum it gave us to push forward and to try again. Plus, in the process we learnt a lot of valuable things that helped us create ALLDAO.

At the end of the first quarter of 2023, middle of March. I and Fon discovered a new hackathon. Spoiler alert, we didn’t win this one either but this was the hackathon that birthed ALLDAO.

The hackathon was hosted by the creators of the aeternity blockchain and in the project description is the secret ingredient of ALLDAO.

The project description is this; “DAO-FI FUSION: The DAO and DeFi Code Challenge. Join this unique code challenge and revolutionize the way people collaborate in the future!”

If you’re not familiar with the above web3 terms, that’s okay!

DAOs at their barest minimum are simply online communities. Groups of individuals allied under a common cause. DeFi which stands for Decentranlized Finance is a section of web3 that deals with the creation of value, mostly monetary, using tokens or crypto currency.

The aeternity blockchain hackathon wanted builders like myself and Fon to come up with projects that would cut across these two aspects of web3.

Initially, we came up with ideas like building a DAO dashboard so DAOs can easily view their finance metrics. We thought of building a decentralized fundraising platform but we ended up mashing up all our ideas into what ALLDAO is today.

As a result of our failures from previous hackathons, myself and Fon knew we had to do something different in order to improve our chances of winning this new hackathon.

And that’s how Eniola Roy (or Enny for short) joined the group. Enny is a brilliant product designer who attended the same university as myself and Fon, University of Lagos. I reached out to her on Twitter (now X) and the ALLDAO community started to form.

Myself, Fon and Enny worked back to back on creating a project to submit for the hackathon but we had drop out due to school exams, we just simply couldn’t do both.

We failed once again but by the time we were all done with our exams, the idea of ALLDAO was born and we didn’t have the time constraints of an hackathon so we had the freedom to explore and build to our heart’s content.

Along the line, Nikku joined our community. Nikku is a fullstack web3 dev from India. We met in the discord channel for the aeternity blockchain hackathon, he was looking for a team and we were accepting all the help we could get.

Nikku stayed with us long after the hackathon ended, same with Enny and we’re all currently building ALLDAO. The ALLDAO community is about 10 member strong currently and we’re growing and accepting all the help we can get.

In the next chapter, I’ll tell you more about ALLDAO currently at Buildspace. If you would like to join the community to contribute in any way, please reach out to us at alldao.team@gmail.com

ALLDAO is all about providing value through communities, there’s a place everybody, trust me!

If you made it this far, thank you very much, you’re already providing value from your corner of the world. I’ll see you next week.

With Love,
Co-founder ALLDAO

 PREAMBLE

Welcome to the second part of this tutorial on technical writing. If you're joining for the first time, you can find the first part here!
In the previous chapter, you learnt what technical writing is, its importance and who a technical writer is. In this chapter you get to learn the following:

prerequisites for becoming a technical writer

how to get started on your technical writing journey

tools needed for technical writing

Excited? Let's get into it.

 CHAPTER TWO

Now you've gone through the first chapter and you're feeling pretty confident about your chances in the technical writing space. Great!
In this chapter, firstly you'll learn about three essential prerequisites, to be successful as a technical writer.

 PREREQUISITE ONE: WRITING SKILLS

To be successful as a technical writer, you must possess at least above average writing skills. Technical writing as the name implies is mostly writing. You don't need to be an expert writer to get started but you do need to possess basic writing skills. You must understand grammar, paragraphs, sentence structure, and the likes to get started as a technical writer. I've dedicated a chapter to this topic. By the end of this tutorial you'll have the necessary writing skills to get started on your technical writing journey.

 PREREQUISITE TWO: RESEARCH SKILLS

Technical writing is educative writing about technology. Technical writing is wide just as technology is wide. In your technical writing journey, it's very possible for you to encounter a situation where you're asked to write a thousand words about a topic you're just hearing of for the first time. Your research skills come in handy at this juncture.
What do I mean by research skills. By research skills, I'm referring to your ability to scour the internet for relevant information about your topic. To be a good researcher, you must be able to skim through lots of web pages in order to extract the value you need to present to your readers.
To be a good technical writer, you must be committed to a life of constant learning and writing. As a freelance technical writer, you can get contracts to write on topics along any spectrum of technology. The only way to survive as a technical writer is to hone your research skills to the maximum and be willing at all times to learn.

PREREQUISITE THREE: TECH INCLINED (or TECHIE for short)

The third prerequisite goes without saying. To be a successful technical writer, you need to be a techie. The essential third skill you need to get started on your technical writing career is not so much of a skill but more of a lifestyle.
Your definition of techie could be different from mine. That's okay! Technical writers come in all shapes and breeds. As you start out on your technical writing career, one essential skill that'll help you throughout your journey is your innate ability to be tech inclined.

Now you know. You know what it takes to be successful as a technical writer, what do you do next?
In the second part of this chapter, you'll learn two actionable steps to kickstart your technical writing career, ready?

 JOIN A PUBLISHING PLATFORM

As a technical writer, your work will always get published. The words you write, someone somewhere needs it. To get started as a professional technical writer, joining a publishing platform is an essential step.
Of course there are numerous publishing platforms and you can join anyone per your convenience and research. The following are some you can easily get started with:

hashnode.com

dev.to

tealfeed.com

medium.com

They're all web based platforms. It is good practice to join as many as you can.

 TEACH AS YOU LEARN

You know pretty much all you need to know about being a technical writer. You have joined a publishing platform. What's next?
The essential next step to take, to kickstart your professional technical writing career is to simply publish some technical articles. Easier said than done, I know. You have two obstacles:

what to write

how to write it

These two obstacles will be tackled extensively in following chapters so you'll always know what to write and how to write it. But before then I'll leave you with this; As a technical writer, especially one just starting out, you can easily find topics to write about as long as you keep on learning. I call this teach as you learn.
After taking this tutorial, ensure you dive right into publishing articles. The knowledge you gain from this tutorial is enough for you to get started on a technical writing career path.
The first four, five or maybe more technical articles you write, you will most likely not be paid for writing them. That's okay! These articles will serve as your portfolio. An easy way to get topics to fill up your portfolio quickly and to stand out is to be a techie and to tell the world about it. Teach as you learn. Teach as you build.

As far as tools go, to get started as a technical writer all you need is a computer and some internet connection. You can write articles on your publishing platform directly, or you can write articles in your favorite text editor first then copy it unto your publishing platform.

Improve your writing skills, Hone your research skills, Be unapologetically a techie, Join a publishing platform, Publish your articles to the world. Congratulations! You're now a technical writer. The world is yours.

In the next chapter, you'll learn about different types of technical articles and how to go about writing them.

 Preamble

Anyone can take this tutorial. This tutorial covers every aspect of technical writing you need to know. If you're looking to get started in technical writing, this tutorial is for you.

 Introduction

At the end of this chapter you'll be able to answer the following:

what is technical writing

why is technical writing important

who is a technical writer

Technical writing is educative writing. Technical writing is for educating readers about the following:

a piece of technology

concepts unknown to them

how to perform specific technical tasks

Technical writing is an excellent skill to have as a student, a junior engineer, or anyone starting out in a technical role.

Technical writing is regular English writing. If you have basic English writing skills, you can become a good technical writer. It only took me one tutorial to get started on my technical writing journey.

Who are your readers? Your readers will mostly consist of the following:

engineers

computer science students

developers

Technical writing focuses solely on educating readers rather than publicizing or selling readers a product.

Technical writing is just as important to you as it is to technological companies. Freelance technical writing is a lucrative source of income. Technological companies need technical writing as a part of their product lifecycle. As technology continues to grow daily, technical writing plays a very important role in educating the technical populace on existing tech products, concepts and solutions.

Technical writing is a rewarding and fulfilling career path. With technical writing, you get paid to learn. You also get to discover amazing new technology way before others find them. If you're tech savvy and you like writing, technical writing is for you.

If you've made it this far, I'm sure you can answer the third question, who is a technical writer. You'll be right, a technical writer is an individual who writes articles or documentations about technology. As a technical writer you can work freelance or under a company. Entry level technical writers can earn as high as $4k monthly.

Congratulations, you've made it to the end of this chapter. By now you should be able to identify what technical writing is, the importance of technical writing, and who a technical writer is. In the next chapter, you'll learn how to get started as a technical writer and in subsequent chapters you'll learn how to go about writing various types of technical documents.
