You've Heard of No-Code. Now Meet Vibe Coding.

Did you ever start a side project only to abandon it halfway through (I am guilty✋)?

Earlier this year, I launched a YouTube series called Micro SaaS Startup 101 for Part-Time Founders.

The idea was to document the step-by-step journey of building a startup while juggling a full-time job.

It was:

Fun

Insightful

And honestly, kind of thrilling

But after five episodes, I hit a wall.

The content started getting… too theoretical.

I wasn't building. I was explaining. And I realized I didn't want to just talk about startups. I wanted to build one.

So, I switched gears.

I started building my own startup.

I found my co-founder, Virgil, and we shipped three real products.

I applied the exact steps I covered in Micro SaaS 101:

Idea Validation

MVP Building

Launching in Public

And now, I'm back with something even more powerful.

 Introducing: Vibe Coding for Beginners

A new way to build with AI, starting August 1

It is my new YouTube series for indie hackers, startup founders, and programmers.

No fluff.

No gatekeeping.

Just real tools, real prompts, real builds.

 Why Vibe Coding?

The startup world is shifting quickly, and AI coding tools are doing the heavy lifting. They allow you to:

Rapidly build prototypes

Write better code with fewer errors

Learn as you go, even if you're not a senior developer

Things that once took months now take weeks. I've done it. And I'll show you how.

That's why I'm bringing a brand-new series: Vibe Coding for Beginners.

It's for founders, indie hackers, and programmers who want to build smarter, faster, and with real results.

Starting August 1, I'll be releasing videos that show exactly how I use AI to build products from scratch, including the prompts, failures, tweaks, and wins.

What to Expect: Week One Schedule

Here's what's dropping in the first week:

🗓️ August 1: Beginner Vibe Coding Masterclass

What is vibe coding?

How to start

How to write better prompts for AI

🗓️ August 2: Live Website Build for Ankit Rajput

Ankit started as my virtual assistant

Now, he runs his own team

Watch how we build his site live using AI

🗓️ August 3: AI Deep Dive with Pratyush Shukla

Discussion on RooCode and advanced vibe coding tools

Ideal for builders ready to go deeper

Why This Matters (and Why Now)

Vibe Coding isn't going to slow down.

It's only going to grow.

It's the new skillset for modern builders.

If you don't learn it now, you'll be left behind.

And here's what I see in the startup space today. There are 3 kinds of builders:

Senior devs avoiding AI entirely

Vibe coders skipping the basic knowledge

Non-tech founders stuck in no-code limitations

The future lies in combining:

Fast AI tools

Deep tech experience

Solving real-world problems

That's the sweet spot.
That's what I'm here to teach.

 Let's Build Together

If you've been waiting for the right time to start your journey, this is it.

Let's make building fun again.
Let's make it fast.
Let's make it vibe.

Subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don't miss new drops from the Vibe Coding series. https://www.youtube.com/@vinod.sharma?sub_confirmation=1

Ready to code with vibes? Let's go.

Software Estimation Techniques

I worked at one of India's top 5 software development companies and learned much about project estimation.

An incorrect estimation could be very costly.

Here’s how we tackled estimates:

1. Bottom-up estimation: In this estimation technique, we broke projects into smaller items using a work breakdown structure (WBR) technique and then estimated each milestone and task.

2. Top-down estimation: We start with high-level (big picture) estimates and then detail them.

3. Three-point estimation: Estimate considering the best and worst cases, then use the average.

4. Expert judgment: get insight from senior developers, team leaders and project managers while estimating for projects.

5. Analogous estimation: We looked at the data from similar projects. Patni had data from over 5000 projects across 18 locations, so we had a lot to compare with!

6. Function point estimation: This was the most intense estimation technique I have ever used.

In this method, you estimate the application by its functionality. You count the number of inputs, outputs, interfaces, and data points. (I oversimplified it)

7. Delphi technique: it is a famous technique in which, various senior developers and project managers do multiple rounds of discussions and refine their estimates.

There are additional estimation methods, but I am listing one I have used or encountered.

Nowadays, my teams use Agile estimation techniques, but those older techniques still help, especially in estimating big projects.

What’s your go-to method for estimating projects?

The Power Of Career Planning

Have you ever wondered why some developers seem to skyrocket in their careers while others don't?

It's not just about coding skills.

There's something more that sets them apart.

For me, it was the career development plan.

Having a clear career path could be the key to your success.

It's time to go beyond relying on your company for career growth.

Learn how a well-planned career roadmap can open doors to opportunities you never knew existed!

Following are the high-level steps.

Create a long-term vision - Where will you be in 1, 3, 5 and 10 years

Most people overestimate what they can achieve in a year and underestimate what they can achieve in ten years.- Bill Gates
_

Plan quarterly - pick the top 2-3 things to focus on & achieve every 90 days

Review your plan weekly - pick 5 weekly actions toward your quarterly goals

Take daily actions - plan your day and pick your top 2-3 tasks daily

The steps are simple. Executing it daily for 90 days and beyond is hard.

The Top Task Manager Apps to Keep You Organized and On Track

Attention web developers!

Are you tired of feeling sluggish and disorganized?

Do you ever feel like juggling too many tasks and struggling to stay on top of everything? If so, you’re not alone! In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and lose track of important tasks.

But don’t worry. Take control of your day and become a productivity powerhouse with a task manager. Turn your to-do list into a DONE list, and start walking the walk!

In this article, we’ll look at the top task manager apps to help you keep organized, achieve productivity and reach your goals.

First, let me share my task manager app

@NotionHQ is my go-to place for staying organized and on track.

With its powerful customization options, I’ve built a system that includes quarterly, monthly, weekly planning, and daily focus. It is an extremely powerful tool for productivity, organization, and PKM.

But don’t pick your task manager based on mine.

I’ve tried a lot of productivity tools over the years and selected Notion.

It’s crucial to find a tool that fits your working style. I recommend trying Notion, Tana, Todoist, Things3, Trello, and Microsoft ToDo.

Let’s dive in and find the perfect fit for you!

 Tana

@tana_inc is the newest tool for managing tasks and personal knowledge.

Tana’s secret weapon is their extremely powerful super tags. I moved my Workflowy to Tana, and I LOVED IT.

But I felt limited in long-form writing & it dies without the internet

 Things 3

@culturedcode is a compelling, simple, but mighty app.

I was using Things3 before trying Tana & Notion. It was recommended by the people I admire, such as Tiago Forte, Peter Akkies and Francesco.

Its limitations, you can’t share tasks with others.

 Todoist

@todoist is the most comprehensive task management system I used.

I liked it so much that I paid for the pro version. It had nicely crafted Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Filters & Labels. It works well with GTD. You can share tasks with other people.

But it felt techie.

 Trello

@trello is a free and lightweight app.

Trello has almost zero learning curve. They were the first to introduce a Kanban-style board. But it was not enough to handle complex projects with many sub-tasks.

I created a life journey map using it

 Microsoft ToDo

@MicrosoftToDo: Works well with the Microsoft ecosystem.

A solid option if you are using Office 365 apps. At my work, we use it for a few projects that involve multiple teams.

It is an excellent choice for your personal task management.

 That’s a wrap.

Remember, a robust productivity system includes more than just a task manager.

It also involves building a second brain, establishing daily routines, adjusting your behavior, setting goals, and continuously improving.

These tools will hopefully get you started!
