Chekiprice VS Yaoota

The e-commerce price comparison landscape in Africa is becoming increasingly competitive, as platforms like Yaoota solidify their foothold. However, a new entrant, Chekiprice , is gaining attention through its expansion into key markets.

 Is Chekiprice the new Yaoota?

Price comparison websites have transformed the way we shop for goods and services. Platforms such as Yaoota have gained substantial popularity in markets like Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, and the UAE, providing price comparisons on a wide range of products at competitive prices. However, a new competitor has emerged – Chekiprice.

 Chekiprice: Expanding Its Reach

Yaoota primarily targets the markets of Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, and the UAE, while Chekiprice expands its reach to include Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, and the United Kingdom. This broader geographic coverage provides Chekiprice with a competitive advantage, allowing it to cater to a larger and more diverse customer base.

 Key Differences

To gain insight into the potential impact of Chekiprice, let's evaluate it in comparison to Yaoota across key areas:

Market Reach: Chekiprice's broad geographic reach, which spans across South Africa and the United Kingdom, enables it to access a larger potential customer base in these regions. This expanded reach increases the company's opportunities for growth and market penetration.

Product Range: Both platforms offer a diverse range of products. However, Chekiprice focuses on a wider range of products, including furniture, medicine, and fashion products.

Pricing: At Chekiprice, we prioritize providing competitive pricing to appeal to budget-conscious consumers. Our pricing is carefully curated to ensure fairness and impartiality.

User Experience: Checkiprice offers a more elegant user experience than Yaoota, which was written before the existence of modern frameworks like React.

Payment Methods: Chekiprice employs individuals to identify the payment methods accepted by each store, providing accurate information about the available payment options. This information is typically listed at the end of the product description, along with details about the store's terms and return policy.

The Future of Price Comparison in Africa

The rivalry between Chekiprice and Yaoota is likely to drive innovation and benefit consumers. As both platforms expand their services and offerings, we can expect increased competition, leading to lower prices, better product selection, and improved customer experiences.

Ultimately, the success of these platforms will depend on their ability to adapt to changing consumer preferences, leverage technology effectively, and build strong relationships with users.

Bun - Faster Javascript Runtime Than Node and Deno

Bun is a new JavaScript runtime written from scratch that is faster than node and deno. Bun is still in its beta stages. Unlike node and deno which use the V8 engine bun uses the JavaScriptCore from WebKit which is generally faster and more memory efficient. Bun is written in ZIG which is a low programming language like Rust and C++.

Bun re-thinks the whole node package management structure of using node_modules to store all packages. You'll just need to use bun, Instead of 1,000 node_modules for development.

 Bun Features

Web API's such as fetch, WebSocket, and ReadableStream are build into Bun.

Built from scratch JavaScript/TypeScript/JSX transpiler.

A JavaScript & CSS bundler

A Task runner for package.json scripts

A package manager that is compatible with NPM.

 Getting started with Bun

To get start with bun you need to install bun using the bun install script.

curl https://bun.sh/install | bash

In order to use bun command on terminal add the following environment to your .bashrc in_ $HOME/.bashrc. _

 $HOME/.bashrc

...

# Bun environment variables

export BUN\_INSTALL=\"$bun\_install

export PATH=\"\$BUN\_INSTALL/bin:\$PATH

 Commands Overview

 Installing packages:

 Add package:

bun add react

 Nextjs App with Bun:

bun create next ./app

cd app

bun dev # start dev server

Documentation

 Benchmark Overview

On Linux, bun install install's packages 20x - 100x faster compared to npm install. On macOS, it’s more like 4x - 80x.

 Conclusion

Bun is fairly new and i wouldn't recommend anyone to run it in production as its still experimental and bugs are expected. However the concepts are really solid. It feels like bun is trying to re-think the whole node ecosystem while bringing in backward compatibility of node packages. Would love to see what this projects morph's to in the future.
