Ok been away for a bit. Balancing some new work hours but might have found a more consistent way to continue working on code.

Today I began working on a calculator app. Starting with the html and css. Will be adding more to the js portion next time.

Continued working on weather app today, but I was still following a tutorial. Someone suggested on a previous post that I should try to build without using a tutorial.

I think this is a great idea and better for immersing myself into the language. So I will try this, but with something even smaller.

until next time

After finishing that intro course, I've felt a little burnt out from courses. Started working on a weather app today. I'm following a tutorial on how to create it.

Using html, CSS, and js.

I'll continue the courses, but it's refreshing to actually build stuff even if its not major. see you next time!

ok so today I finished my intro to js course! It was completed on codecademy. Not very big in the scope of things but it's fun to celebrate the small victories.

I started a new course on the codecademy site for front-end development. I'll be continuing to apply what I've learned in JS and go deeper into that language. I'll also be learning a bit of HTML and CSS. Today I started on the HTML portion, and I must say it's very streamlined in terms of syntax.

Definitely easier for me to understand... so far. Hopefully I didn't speak to soon. Anyway see you tomorrow!

oh and since a user almost mistook my title as 100,000 days of code, I'm now separating the numbers with a semicolon. Seems pretty fitting as I am learning javascript haha.

Today I finished another online course for advanced objects.

I worked on Setters methods. I also learned about destructuring, as well as more Built-In object methods.

Going to start another new small project. Looking into something related to weather. After finishing the Pokedex, I'm starting to gain an interest in working with API's.

Not much new today. I continued working on the Pokedex project. I guess I could've finished this a couple days ago, but I'm going slowly to understand as much as I can from it.

As far as online courses go, I started getters today. Will update tomorrow.

Day 13/100, 100 Days of Code

Ok so, I'm actually a few days further than 13 but I keep forgetting to post! Or I get to wrapped up with the day and get lazy. But I am still coding, which is a good thing.

Took a break from online classes the last couple days and decided to take on a small project. I must say... I've learned more in the last 24 hours than I have in the last week. I'm starting to understand why seasoned coders will say to build something. Anything.

The project was to create a Pokedex. Heard of Pokemon? It's basically a tracker that has information on all the original Pokemon. A database. I'm following a tutorial on youtube for it, and it's pretty fun. A breath of fresh air from class.

So the part I've been working on is the Javascript(obviously). The html and Css code were provided. Although I'm not technically writing the JS from scratch, I'm still understanding more by following along with the instructors code and typing it out myself. I haven't finished yet. Maybe this will be my first thing I upload to github? I've learned a little about the fetch method and API's, and how to access my html and css files.

Finished off the day with more class content. Learning how to use the this keyword, and when to use an arrow function vs the method with it.

I'll remember to post tomorrow! happy coding

Today I learned more about Objects. I learned about looping through objects using the for...in statement. I also started working on advanced objects introduction.

I'm actually almost done with the javascript introductory course. After that I'll be starting some new courses.

I'm still looking for some small projects to start on because I know how important it is to actually build things vs just study code all day.

Day 11, back to arrays! I'm slightly confused but starting to retain more information. This is good. Today I learned about nested objects and creating arrays of objects. I also learned how to access these objects.

I'm actually starting to really like how clean the code looks when you write it in object form (don't know if that's the correct terminology).

anyway here's one of the objects I stored into a variable.

const capFave = spaceship.crew.captain['favorite foods'][0];

Interest is growing on me for javascript. I haven't given up yet!

Day 10! Officially 10% of the way into this challenge. Today I learned more about objects. Mind-blowing. Looks like I've been using them all along, they just didn't have cool names that I made up.

Specifically I learned how to create objects, store keys and value into objects, and object methods.

As for a small project for me to create, I've been considering a discord music bot. I've seen some tutorials on this. Definitely a little complex for my current understanding, but it's fun to start something and figure it out as I go.

So today I finished working on that mini linter project. I'm still very much confused when it comes to iterators and arrays. I thought I had a pretty firm grasp on it. I struggle with choosing the correct method/function, and sometimes even the syntax.

Also, first time failing a quiz on the codecademy course. 50% fail. I won't let that stop me from learning though.

After I got through that I got started with objects! I'll do better with these and continue to review what I've learned for arrays.

Objects haven't got too complicated yet, (which I'm sure they will) but for now I understand them a little more and the syntax is a little easier to follow.

So I took a couple days off. I'm trying to stay consistent even if I don't do a lot in a day. So less days off, more code!

Today I continued working on the mini linter project. Still working with arrays and different methods to iterate through the arrays. I'll finish this up tomorrow.

My curiosity has started to make me look for very small projects that I can continue to build with. The online classes are cool, but I get bored of them sometimes. I'm looking at some stuff I can create with discord bots. This might be a little ambitious for my current skill level but, it should be fun to learn.

Also, started doing some tutorials for GitHub today. Learning about repositories so thats pretty cool. Although I don't think that's directly related to a coding project, I do understand its importance in the dev/coding space.
