Hey everyone! Today, we'll walk through how to host your projects for free using Sillydev (https://sillydev.co.uk/). Setting up your code is quite straightforward and not overly complicated.

First, you'll need to create an account. Head over to their website and click "Free Hosting." You'll be directed to a login page where you can either log in or create a new account.

Once your account is created, navigate to your dashboard. Look for the shopping cart icon (labeled "Store") and click it to create a new server. On the next page, click "Create Server."

In the server creation section, you'll need to select a name for your server and an optional description. Configure the resources like RAM, storage, ports, database options, server backups, and choose a location. Next, select a "Nest" that corresponds to your project type. For example, if you're hosting a Minecraft server, select "Games." If you're using a programming language, select "Programming Language." If you choose "Programming Language," be sure to specify the language under the "Eggs" tab.

After clicking "Create," you'll see a message indicating the server is being created. This process may take a few minutes, so please be patient. When you refresh the page, your new server should appear!

Inside your server's management page, you'll find various sections: Console, Server Analytics, Activity, Files, Databases, Schedules, Users, Backups, Network, Startup, Settings, and Edit.

To get your server running, you need to upload your project files. Go to the "Files" tab and click "Upload," then select the necessary files. Alternatively, you can click "New File" and paste your code directly.

Once your files are in place, go to the "Startup" tab. In the "App File" field, enter the name of your main application file (e.g., app.py). Select your desired Docker image. Underneath, in the "Additional Packages" section, list any required dependencies for your code. After ensuring your changes are saved, head back to the "Console" and click "Start." Your server should now start smoothly!

And that's how you can utilize Silyldev for free hosting! I hope this guide was helpful.
Free Code hosting

Hey! So today I'm going to talk about good free code hosting. It can be a bit tricky to find a reliable free host, but I've found two decent options during my time making a bit of code.

First up is SillyDev (https://sillydev.co.uk). SillyDev is a very nice hosting service with an in-browser code editor. All you have to do to get free hosting is simply make an account with them. Here's how it works: as long as you stay AFK on their site, you'll receive 3 credits per minute. That's about 4,320 credits a day! A server costs between 3 to 9 credits a day, meaning you could potentially run about 480 servers max – so pretty much unlimited! However, you do have to renew your server every 7 days, which costs 175 credits. You can also use these credits to buy more RAM and storage for your servers.

Pros: It's free, offers enough storage (expandable with credits), helpful Discord server.
Cons: Limited CPU power on the free tier, and it's a small business.
Overall, it's a pretty good site that I use all the time.

Now let's talk about option two: Wispbyte (https://wispbyte.com). Wispbyte is a hosting service that allows you one free server with no credits involved. It's pretty much like SillyDev but with a slightly different interface. Officially, they only allow one server, but if you click fast enough, you might be able to get two or three (don't tell anyone!). It's great for hosting code, Discord bots, Minecraft servers, and more. Basically, it's another solid free option similar to SillyDev.

Cons: Only one server officially allowed.
Pros: It's free!
So, these are two of the free code hosting platforms I've found. I hope they are useful to you! If you need any help, whether making custom Discord bots or writing code, I am available. I mostly work for free. Join my Discord server here: https://discord.gg/CttHusJ5ba

Creating A Basic Discord Bot

Hey everyone,

Here’s a simple tutorial for making a basic Discord bot using Python. This bot will automatically reply with "very cool" whenever anyone sends a message in any text channel on your server.

It’s a great starting point if:

1:You’re learning how Discord bots work

2:You want to test basic features

3:You plan to build something bigger later

Let’s jump in.

🧠 What the Bot Does
Every time someone types a message — any message — the bot replies in the same channel with "very cool" It doesn't matter what they type. It’ll just respond.

💻 The Code
Here’s the full code, ready to copy and run:

import discord

# Hardcoded bot token — only for testing/learning
TOKEN = "YOUR_BOT_TOKEN_HERE"

# Enable reading messages
intents = discord.Intents.default()
intents.message_content = True

# Create the bot client
client = discord.Client(intents=intents)

# Called when the bot connects to Discord
@client.event
async def on_ready():
    print(f"Logged in as {client.user}")

# Called when any message is sent
@client.event
async def on_message(message):
    if message.author.bot:
        return # Skip messages from bots

    await message.channel.send("very cool")

# Start the bot
client.run(TOKEN)

⚠️ Replace "YOUR_BOT_TOKEN_HERE" with the token you get from the Discord Developer Portal.

🛠️ How to Set It Up
Step 1: Create the Bot on Discord
Go to the Discord Developer Portal (make sure you have an account)

Click "New Application", give it a name

Go to the Bot tab → Click “Add Bot” (top right corner)

Step 2: Get the Token
In the Bot tab, click “Reset Token”

Copy the token and paste it into the TOKEN variable in your code

Step 3: Turn On Message Intent
In the Bot tab:

Scroll down and turn on MESSAGE CONTENT INTENT

This lets the bot read messages

Step 4: Invite the Bot to Your Server
Go to OAuth2 → URL Generator

Select:

Scopes → bot

Permissions → Read Messages/View Channels and Send Messages

Copy the link it gives you and open it in your browser to invite the bot

▶️ How to Run the Bot
Make sure you have Python installed.

1:Install the Discord library:

pip install discord.py

2:Save the code as bot.py (or what ever you want to really call it)

3:In your terminal, run:

python bot.py

(bot will be replaced with whatever you really named the file)
Your bot should come online and respond to every message in your server with "very cool".

🧱 Optional: Expand the Bot Later
Here are some easy ways to improve it later:
Only reply to certain words

if "hello" in message.content.lower():
    await message.channel.send("hi there")

Reply directly to the user

await message.reply("very cool")

Add actual commands

from discord.ext import commands

bot = commands.Bot(command_prefix="!")

@bot.command()
async def ping(ctx):
    await ctx.send("pong!")

well, that is about it, if you need any help or you want me to build you a custom bot go to this link to claim your free bot https://sites.google.com/view/yourdailybrick/home/request-a-bot
