Yesterday I made a few small projects, in which I moslty wrote bash scripts which checked out system performance, or analyzed the logs of a web server. Small but ok ok projects. Pinned

With these I thought I had some stuff to showcase in my resume.

But apparently this was not enough. I started messaging people on LinkedIn that I was seeking internship opportunity and what not, but was met with silence. Messaged around 20-30 people only 4-5 replied. Good enough for my first try I guess.

Now i'll be focusing on completing the Rust book which idk for some reason I have not finished yet. And my exams are also closing in.

I think now I'll make a python project cause why not, I am proficient in python and need to make a good project.

Also thinking about starting my own small startup but the thing is I am too lost right now, I am learning rust for low level programming, but the whole world is moving in a different direction.

On one hand I am trying to learn something really difficult that will help me in the long run and on the other hand I am looking at all these youtube video where people are vibecoding their tech startups and selling them for huge profits. Whereas I still don't know how to integrate a database in my work ;-;

If someone out there can guide me I will really appreciate it.

My main concern is that I am currently doing DevOps and learning rust on the side, should I continue with this beacuse I can see the world moving towards AI now-a-days most of the jobs require you to be proficient in creating AI models, or have some AI skills.
I am sick and tired of seeing such jobs posts cause I have close to 0 idea on how to make AI models.

BRDR I don't know what to doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

My Schedule has been Finalized now let me give you the summary.

-> 20th June: Pre-University Test Cybersecurity
-> 22th June: Pre-University Test Operating Systems

-> 30th June: University Test Cybersecurity
-> 2nd July: University Test Digital Electronics
-> 4th July: University Test OOPs with Java
-> 7th July: University Test Theory of automata and formal language
-> 9th July: University Test Operating Systems

FYI each subject has 5 units and the college has yet to complete 12 of them. Plus the tests are consecutive FML.

But there is good news too, I started cold emailing.

I mean I do have linkedIN premium cause I won it in a contest.
So I get 15 free mail that I can send to anyone each month.

I should have stareted sooner ;-;
I recently made my resume too, which is alright, there are no major projects in it but it should be able to land me a decent internship.

If you guys have anytips on how I should approach the upcoming Month please give me some tips ;-;.
I am literally dying here.

Day 6 of my Daily Blog

The blog is not at all daily anymore ;-;. I just finished giving my exams and took 2 days off. But now I have just been hit with the worst case scenario.

As you know I am a 2nd year student whose university for some reason said f*** them kids lets make their lives miserable.

So basically in Btech 2nd year I have 6 subjects and each subject has 5 units so 30 units total.

Our university is the probably the only one which is not giving its student summer vacations between years to do internships or external courses.

I have just been bombarded with the schedule for my next tests. I recently finished giving my sessional test and now after 15 days I have my pre-end sem exams. And justtttttttttt 3-4 days after that I have my End sem exams.

And the college has only complete 3 units per subject god only knows how they will complete 12 units in 10 working days.
We only.

So basicallllly in the next 20 days
-> Attend all classes so my attendence doesn't fall short.
-> I have to complete all my files even though no labs took place.
-> I have to give internal Lab tests.
-> Have to give external Lab tests.
-> Preapare 12 new units in 10 days for pre-end semester exams.
-> Prepare 30 units for my End semester Exams
-> Make 2-3 projects to showcase my skills
-> Start applying for internships

and after this abomination of a month,
Next month I somehowwwww need to find an internship, one which is willing to take a total newbie for only 1 or 1/2 month.

I guess I can kiss goodbye to my precious sleep,
anyways these blogs are just a way for me to rant about my problems, don't pay much attention to these.

Day 5 of my Daily Blog

I had recently thought of stopping DevOps for a week but cause of the virtual internship I have to submit a task daily.

Today I used Terraform for the first time, was really fascinating seeing it launch and destroy a docker container itself.

sudo snap install --classic terraform

After watching a fireship video, I got enough basic understanding to Chatgpt the rest of the stuff :) .

I'll be learning how to correctly use terraform at some point but right now it was down my DevOps roadmap.

Other than that I started a small project in Rust making a simple web page. I am following the rust based learning Github repo for a few of my starting projects. Then from there on out i'll diversify my project. Well that was all for today.

Day 4 of my Daily Blog

Today I didn't do anything for some reason just didn't feel like it.

I have a really wasy exam tomorrow so I studied a bit for it but that was all

From 3Pm till 8 or 9 I was just laying on my bed watching reels and what not really lacked the motivation today.

Prolly try to be more productive tomorrow

Day 3 of my daily blog

Today I was so tired cause I didn't sleep last night as I was preparing for my exam that I gave today, didn't do that well but ok.

After coming homing I was deathly tired, but had to complete my internship task which was building a CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, mind you I have never used jenkins before.

So I thought why not give it a try, firstly I had to install it and configure it to make a separate directory for my plugins, which took me about 1.5hrs because the youtube tutorials were just people explaining linking jenkins to github, like why not start from the basics.

Then I went to the official Jenkins page where a nice gentleman told me how to dowload and configure jenkins in under 5 mins that was that.

Now before I could setup a pipeline I needed an application, I thought let me build one on rust, I did that, I was following a YT tutorial who was making a JAVA application, then I pushed my code to github and went on to jenkins to se up the pipeline.

For the life of me I couldn't get this thing to workkkkkkkkkkk.......

Mistakes I made:-
-> Trusting Chatgpt(CRAPgpt) to troubleshoot my errors.
-> Didn't know I need to globally configure mavin
-> Secondly I was using maven to build a rust project, how was I supposed to know maven mainly supports java projects.
-> Then I switched to cargo, piecing what ever the guy in the tutorial was doing
-> Finally was able to build the pipeline but it was not functioning properly when I tried adding the dockefile

Had to give up and just use the tutorial guys GitHub repo from which I copied the application and the pom.xml file.
Went back to jenkins rewrote the pipeline and used mavin correctly
and then simply built a dockerfile and configured it to so that it would push the image to dockerhub

I started around 4pm by 8pm I was finished. I was feeling soooooo sleepy right now but I had to still study as I have an exam again tommorow.

Didn't get to do rust today but its ok, tomorrow i'll probably do some questions, I would like to build my first project as soon as possible, firstly i'll build a shell prompt which accpets basic commands like bash.

Day 2 of my Daily blog

Studied for my Operating systems test, understood concepts like CPU scheduling, processes and their managemen, what deadlock is, what is critical sections, how shared resources can be accessed be different processes and so on.

Did a few leetcode questions
-Remove Duplicates
-Valid Parenthesis in rust

Really need to start builing some project as its the only way to get hands on experience with rust

Also started a DevOps internship the tasks provided are ok but still a bit too advanced for me,
Today's task was to build a CI/CD pipleline using github actions and host a webpage, I had to use docker for deployment but didn't know how to configure it so had to use static pages which I then deployed using workflows.

That was all for today.

Woke up a little late cause I was studying late the previous night.

Didn't do much today, was learning CPU scheduling for my test on Monday.

Watched a few videos on rust and what all mistakes new rustaceans make.

Solved an easy problem on leetcode

Rest of the day was wasted playing valorant and watching reels, really need to get my things together

Starting Daily Blogging of my Tech Journey

Today I was just scrolling through my google's home page when I came across this article on dev.to that said daily blogging could help you become more efficient and systematic.

Hi I am Siddham Negi a 2nd year student in a tier 3 college which is sooooo off schedule, that I am not even getting anytime to breathe, every 2 weeks I have to give some test
and barely have any time to do anything else. My college is 30km and I have to daily take a bus. So my commuting time is around 2.5 hrs each day plus the 8hrs I spend in college, basically 12hrs of my day dedicated to my college which is rushing everything.

Anyways enough of that ranting, let me talk about what I have been upto these days. I started learning rust a month ago and have been learning DevOps for the past 3-4 months, I am following this roadmap from roadmap.sh (Great open source Place for roadmaps), and following that only made a switch from windows to linux. One of the better decisions I made recently cause I use this i3 laptop with 8Gb ram so windows had some difficulty working smoothly but ubuntu runs phenomenally disreagarding a few chrome crashes here and there everything run really smoothly.

So back to the main topic i'll be posting my daily wins, I had to put DevOps on hold right now as I have my sessional tests next week, but i'll still be studying and practing rust. If you guys have any insights fell free to message them to me.
