I agree that you don't need much to start anything, especially if you're just testing the water. But as you refine a project, you'll probably want to upgrade the tools you use -- both for your own ease-of-use and delivering a higher quality product to your audience. At least in the context of a podcast production.


Of course you'll want to upgrade down the line, but in the context of just starting, you don't need anything. What I was trying to discourage was people not starting anything because they are scared that they don't have the right mic, headphones, computer, idea, people, whatever. Just get going and see where you can get. If it is working out, then worry about making it better in whatever way you can (usually with equipment).
