Really enjoyed this article! Also now living in Germany and something I have noticed is that in general, compared to the US (especially the south), people compliment each other a lot less. I have spoken with friends and family and some claim that the reason they do not want to compliment others is because it might come off as being a brownnoser. I believe most people who receive a compliment are flattered and it usually lifts spirits. There is something to be said though about giving out too many compliments- it does not seem as genuine. However, I agree with you more compliments are better than not enough.
