I know this is an old post...and I hope it's finally worked out for you. I'm in that same struggle. Finally got my portfolio out and 100's of job postings "needing a frontend dev" or "software engineer" but no one gets back to you. Everyday another indeed or jobs2career or some other job site spambards my inbox. It's almost hopeless but I can't just quit. Now that it's been a year since your post, has anything changed for ya?
No update as of yet, still hundreds of applications in and still looking. Keeping up with my skills and growing every day. Never a good idea to just "give up" always keep pushing no matter how much you want to.
