Design tokens are not a framework.

You created a "framework" of CSS vars. How is that a framework. It's just a set of variables, nothing more and the entire concept is called Design Tokens and has been around for YEARS.

Tailwind offers so much more than that and the fact that you didn't discuss that at all just shows your bias. And the fact that your wrote Pollen, so you have no interest in showing why it's worse than Tailwind anyways.

Wow okay lot to unpack here. Pollen is absolutely not a framework, that’s the whole point. The point of the article is that you don’t need a framework like Tailwind, and if you don’t want the ‘design tokens’ in pollen, based on tailwinds own tokens, then don’t use it, write your own bunch of variables to bring consistency to CSS in a way that doesn’t require a whole new styling paradigm with its own issues.

This isn’t a framework v framework thing, it’s a critique of some of tailwinds implementation choices, and an example of what can be done without them. I literally end the article saying you probably don’t need either of them 🤷🏻‍♀️
