We now have everything we need to create our first game with Unity! If you missed my previous posts, I'll link them below so you can catch up if you'd like.
- Installing Unity on Windows
- Installing Git on Windows
- Using GitHub with Unity Projects
- Custom Layouts in Unity
Now, let's jump into the details of our game. Throughout the next several posts, we'll create a beautifully hand-drawn 2D space shooter. We'll build all the aspects you'd expect from this genre; powerups, waves of enemies with multiple enemy types, and more.
We'll start with a prototype, and once we have the basic mechanics in place, we'll begin to switch to production assets and improve the code.
I hope you'll join me for the ride as I document the challenges and how I go about the implementation. Please share any suggestions you may have along the way.
Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Let's do this. 🎮
