Failing is something every developer experience more or less daily. It's just something we never share. This creates an unfortunate situation where new developers or colleagues view you as a perfect developer. While that might be nice for you it creates an unpleasant environment filled with imposter syndrome.
This is why I started publicly sharing my fails. The response I have gotten from this has been overwhelming. For the developers I have spoken with it's liberating to see that we are all just human. There's no perfect developer and it's completely okay to fail.
Now it's time to take it even further. I decided to start a weekly newsletter where I focus on a theme of failing and reflect on what I did wrong, what we all can learn from it and why it's all okay. Developer well being is super crucial to avoid burnout and I believe that not talking about our fails contributes to burnout.
I hope you will join me on this quest either by sharing your own fails or by subscribing to my newsletter.
