Depends on how long you had this running on the other domain. You would have built some domain authority on Google. By changing the domain you lose that but may not be a major issue.
This may not be the case anymore, but Google tends to prioritize ".com" domains. I haven't done SEO in ages, so could be wrong.

thanks for your insight and appreciation, yeah SEO may take a hit if you don't redirect all of the old URLs to the new domain. In my case I am doing a 301 permanent redirect.
