Some people like using light mode websites and some like dark ones. I would like your opinion on which theme to use and why.

I personally prefer to use dark mode websites. Honestly, darkmode websites waste less power in your computer, they don't damage your eyes as fast, and they are just... nice.
Also, I never keep my computer at full brightness.

If you do prefer to use darkmode, you should use two nice Chrome Extensions. Dark Reader and Midnight Lizard are the best ones so far.

Someone once wrote a haiku about turning on a bright light at night and it feels like that to me when I switch from a dark website to a light one.

It's midnight and I
Turn on the light ahhh ahhhh ahhhhhh
IT'S SO BRIGHT MY EYES

Tell me what you prefer to use and why in the comments below

I prefer kind of a grey. Even deep black seems tiring to your eyes (Just use DEV's Ten x Hacker Theme and you'll know. Since then I havemoved to the night theme)

I use the dev dark mode. The Ten X Hacker is way too dark to me. Super black against such a bright color is really hard on the eyes. Thanks for posting your opinion!!

In fact, I currently use the dev light theme

"Cool mode" : background color #333, text color #ddd -- anything with greater contrast vibrates, anything with less contrast forces the eyes to strain. Also, when creating your own cool mode, each highlighted text color should have a "saturation" value of 100 and a "lightness" value greater than 75 on the HSL scale. (For help, see: see colorizer.org/)

Most of the time would be dark mode. In my opinion, there are only few light theme that done right. Quiet Light is the only light theme I can use currently. There are more usable dark theme that don't strain my eyes such as Nord, Doki Aqua, Solarized Dark, Gruvbox and Ayu.

Light attracts bug too.

I only use dark mode on the evenings and at night. Over the day light mode is much better for my eyes; especially when the sun is shining directly in my face😄

I agree! Dark mode is nice in the evenings, sometimes it makes me feel a little lazy / sleepy haha

It is true that light mode websites hurt your eyes more at night but I just prefer it all the time.
