"Full-stack developer" is just a term that the industry came up with to exploit folks willing to do all the work just to say "I'm a full-stack developer", so companies can pay for a single person instead of having to pay for two or more. No matter how much they are paying for you, it's cheap compared to paying for more people to do that work.

Yes, we can consider it "a front-end that knows a little bit about back-end" or "a back-end that knows a little about front-end", but at the end of the day, that developer should focus in what they like the most, leaving the "other side" to folks specialized on that.

If you are one of the folks that's happy calling themselves "full-stack developers" and getting exploited by companies, that's fine, just don't get into a high-horse based on that and tell others they know "less" than you just because they decided to focus mainly on one of the "two sides".

And all this is not even considering tech like Remix, Astro, Svelte and so on that blur the line between back-end and front-end even further.

Cheers!
