QloApps is a free and open-source hotel commerce solution. The software is published under the Open Software License (OSL). It is written in the PHP programming language with support for the MySQL database management system.
The software was originally developed by Webkul, an e-commerce solution provider from India.
QloApps was started in 2016 as a fork of the famous e-commerce solution Prestashop in Webkul Software an IT company in India. The official launch of the software was on January 1, 2016.
QloApps is completely free software and is distributed through their website and through their Github repository. The software can be downloaded and installed on the server to launch a hotel commerce system.
The development of this software was inspired by the open source solutions present in the e-commerce industry. The company wanted to make a platform which can play a similar role in the hotel industry played by Magento and Prestashop in the e-commerce industry.
That is why they decided to fork Prestashop for making this system. The company already had expertise in Prestashop as they were building the plugins for the platform.
QloApps is built on Prestashop 220.127.116.11, then the system started its own journey. They have released 8 versions of the software thus far 1.3.2 out of which is the latest.
QloApps provides the functionality to a hotelier to launch a hotel booking website. It will enable the admin to take online bookings from the frontend and manage them from the back end. The admin can also take offline bookings from the backend.
QloApps is loaded with tons of features for hotels and room listing, SEO, tax management, discount management, translations, and front office management. QloApps is based on the web template system just like Prestashop to allow users to customize website themes and add new features through add-on modules. QloApps add-ons are sold via webkul's marketplace called webkul store.
QloApps also offer cloud hosting services over AWS, Azure, and GCP.
QloApps launched a website for a hotel to enable the admin to take and manage online and offline bookings. But the Marketplace add-on turns this website into a marketplace of hotels so that the admin can work as an Online Travel Agency.
Property owners can list and sell their inventories on the website while the admin, on the other hand, can charge a commission.
We aspire to serve the hotel industry with our product QloApps and that process we have taken a step forward by launching the QloApps Forum. So please raise any of your query on our Forum
